Pandora Report How
true is it?
On 27 September I wrote ‘There is a Tamil
saying – Penn Puthi, Pinn Puthi / the intellect of the woman is hindsight.
Economy Next article ‘Sri
Lanka businessman named in Pandora papers denies any wrongdoing’ reports as
follows:
“I assure Your Excellency that my wife
and I are totally innocent and are guilty of no wrongdoings,” Nadesan said in a
letter addressed to the president and copied to Prime Minister Mahinda
Rajapaksa on Wednesday”
The Adaderana article ‘President orders Bribery Commission to probe Sri Lankans named in
Pandora Papers’ reports:
[President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has ordered
the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption to launch an
immediate investigation into the Sri Lankans and the related transactions
revealed in the ‘Pandora Papers’ and submit a report in a month.
It was published in the media that
according to the papers, information has come to light that a Sri Lankan
citizen or citizens in relation to maintaining large cash deposits, the PMD
said.
The President has instructed to submit a
report on this information within a month from today (06).
Director General of Legal Affairs of the
Presidential Secretariat, Attorney-at-Law Harigupta Rohanadeera has informed
the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or
Corruption in this regard, in writing as per the order of the President, the
statement said]
As per Greek mythology, Pandora is a woman made of ‘gifts’ who brought with
her a jar/box containing "countless plagues"
As
per Wikipedia:
Prometheus
(foresight) had warned his brother Epimetheus
(hindsight) not to
accept any gifts from Zeus (Lord of sky & thunder / Inthran in Tamil).
But Epimetheus did not listen; he accepted Pandora, who promptly scattered the
contents of her jar. As a result, Hesiod tells us, the earth and sea are
"full of evils"
Navaraathri (nine nights) festival dedicated
to Mother Energy begins today. In my
article ‘Kali Became Lakshmi?’ – I highlighted from the Pandora report:
[The painting, by 19th-century
Indian master Raja Ravi Varma, depicts the four-armed goddess clad in a red
sari with gold ornaments and standing atop a lotus flower. It was one of 31
works of art, altogether worth nearly $1 million, that were being shipped to
the Geneva Freeport in Switzerland. That vast, ultra-secure warehouse complex,
larger than 20 soccer fields, stores among its many treasures what the BBC once
called “the greatest art collection no one can see.]
Raja Ravi Varma painted Goddess Saraswathi
also. If Mr Nadesan had appreciated the true value as per the current needs of
Sri Lanka – he would have merged with that soul value that lasts over
generations. On that basis – I ask the question - Is Pandora Papers Report based on Knowledge, Intelligence or Wisdom? Let us
take Wikipedia’s presentation as follows:
Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness, or understanding of
someone or something, such as facts (descriptive
knowledge), skills (procedural knowledge), or objects (acquaintance
knowledge).
Intelligence can be described as the ability to perceive or
infer information, and to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an
environment or context.
Wisdom, is the ability to contemplate and act using
knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight .]
A local Commission is
likely to inquire on the basis of Knowledge of what happened. The Judiciary is
likely to measure through the law and hence develop ‘intelligence’. Only a true
Governor would receive the report through wisdom. If this is the President –
then the Commission is to merely give knowledge of ‘what happened’. Sri Lankan Judiciary may have the
intelligence but they are likely to carry fear of indirect punishments.
It is therefore left to the Governors amongst us to identify
with the truth that would be fair to all Sri Lankans. If such a person seeks to
take legal action – that would strengthen the processes which were weak enough
to demote Sri Lanka’s status in wider world. Every process is Energy of the
person/s who gave us the structure. One wonders whether the deviation from Due
Processes of war has resulted in this
damage to Sri Lanka’s reputation especially at the level of the ruling family?
If the processes in the war were ‘right’ as per the government, then this also
would be right. Why waste money and time on inquiries for knowledge that we
already have?
