Crumbling of Rajapaksa Hierarchy

Recently a member of the Tamil Diaspora forwarded to me the video clip regarding the late Ms Shakuntala Devi – at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8FhngvxiBE&feature=youtu.be. The mail came when I was discussing belief in god with another part of the Diaspora. One of them wrote ‘miracle is nothing but mere state of mind’. To me the ability of Ms Shakuntala Devi to ‘see’ the answers to number questions almost immediately in her mind. Before this lady, Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar had its parallel in Mathematical Theory. To me these are miracles. Miracles are presented by Wikipedia as follows:

[A true miracle would, by definition, be a non-natural phenomenon, leading many writers to dismiss them as physically impossible (that is, requiring violation of established laws of physics within their domain of validity) or impossible to confirm by their nature (because all possible physical mechanisms can never be ruled out). The former position is expressed for instance by Thomas Jefferson and the latter by David HumeTheologians typically say that, with divine providence, God regularly works through nature yet, as a creator, is free to work without, above, or against it as well]

Thomas Jefferson is also known as ‘the principal author of the American Declaration of Independence and a proponent of Democracy’ Rule by Democracy is a rule by minority powers. To be valid, they have to be beyond the boundaries of existing laws. Hence the criterion - ‘requiring violation of established laws of physics within their domain of validity’

This morning I wrote under the heading ‘UNP Had 96% Approval’ in terms of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Later I came across the Island article ‘Reality of two-thirds power in parliament’ in which the author Dr Sumedha Amarasekara presents as follows, in relation to the two thirds majority being sought by the Rajapaksa government

[So, do they actually need two-thirds to change the constitution to achieve whatever they intend to bring about to this country? Clearly not.]

To me, the miracle here is that Belief based network which brings me confirmation that I am not alone in my thinking. It is belief based if I have no knowledge of conscious connections. That was how my book Naan Australian reached the National Library of Australia. Believers do not need proof . The other side happens through the network of Belief. There would be a scientific connection but at that time when the mind does not know – it is a miracle.

Democratic Elections are confirmations of such miracles. We would identify with them – not when someone is elected but when our ‘other side’ manifests one way of the other.

Democracy works effectively only when voters believe in the person they are voting for and/or the issue they are voting for. As per the above article:

[On the other hand from a ‘Pro Rajapaksa’ point of view, with the Rajapaksa clan in power one can trust them to deliver the country into prosperity, entrust the sovereignty of this country and safeguard its heritage.]

When they are ‘pro’ a subject – they are relations. One needs absolute power of  belief to override relativity. When brothers hold leading positions in wider nation – it is NOT democracy. To validly represent the electorate – the structure of the electorate needs to be the one that dominates their mind. In other words the investment in family ought to have by now merged as national investment. In that wider world all are viewed on Equal basis or taken as per their official status.

When younger brother became President – the family hierarchy became different. Now if officially the PM has to take junior position to his younger brother – the President – it is a huge challenge. THAT was the victory of the 19th Amendment which limited the person to two terms only. If Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa mentally accommodates his elder brother – he naturally loses executive power. If Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa accommodates his younger brother – the president – their family hierarchy is dismantled. It is not different to Dual Citizenship ban. There is no way one can escape the truth.

Like in the exponential spread of the Corona/King  Virus,  every believer in Democracy influences exponential sharing of their powers. Unless recognized leaders believe in the People as a whole – which is very difficult – the power of the People will be stronger than the power of the leaders – including smart leaders who promise economic growth. That was how Tamils became equal Opposition in Parliament – in 1977 and in 2015. Towards this Tamils need to give up Separation thoughts so their network is Sri Lankan. Likewise Muslims.

The elections are only the beginning of this political game where the king is the intellectual power and the queen is the political power.
