VEN GNANASARA
THERO NEXT BUDDHA?
In a recent conversation with a Buddhist Engineer, he stated
as follows:
[BUDDHIST VISION IS SURFACED BY
BUDDHAS . THAT
VISION HAS NO OWNER AS SUCH.. IT APPEARS AND DISAPPEARS FROM TIME TO TIME.
BUDDHA SASANA IS THE TIME DURING THIS PERIOD VISION MEANT IN BUDDHISM IS
AVAILABLE FOR THE MAN KIND.. WE ARE NOW LIVING IN A PERIOD WHERE THE
MESSAGE IS AVAILABLE TO US THANKS TO A BUDDHA CALLED GAOUTHAMA BORNED 2600
YEARS AGO. NOTE THAT IT EVENTUALLY VANISHES UNTIL
ANOTHER BUDDHA APPEARS ON EARTH.
AFTER SOMETIME IT VANISHES . WHEN IT VANISHES,, WE HAVE
TO WAIT TILL NEXT BUDDHA CALLED MAITHREE APPEARS ON EARTH. THAT
VISION HAS NO OWNER AS I MENTIONED BEFORE: BUDDHIST VISION IS SURFACED BY BUDDHAS
. THAT VISION HAS NO OWNER AS SUCH.. IT APPEARS AND
DISAPPEARS FOM TIME TO TIME BUDDHA SASANA IS THE TIME DURING THIS PERIOD VISION
MEANT IN BUDDHISM IS AVAILABLE FOR THE MAN KIND.. WE ARE NOW LIVING IN A PERIOD
WHERE THE MESSAGE IS AVAILABLE TO US THANKS TO A BUDDHA CALLED
GAOUTHAMA BORN 2600 YEARS AGO. NOTE THAT IT EVENTUALLY
VANISHES UNTIL ANOTHER BUDDHA APPEARS ON EARTH.
AFTER SOMETIME IT VANISHES . WHEN IT VANISHES,, WE HAVE
TO WAIT TILL NEXT BUDDHA CALLED MAITHREE APPEARS ON EARTH. THAT
VISION HAS NO OWNER AS I MENTIONED BEFORE]
Given that I have no knowledge
other than this on the subject matter, and given that it has been stated by a
graduate of the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, I accept that as the base on which
I analyse, until known otherwise to my personal logic. Accordingly, my base
includes the knowledge that there were Buddhas before Gautama Buddha and that
there would be others after Gautama Buddha. As per Wikipedia:
[In Buddhism, Buddha "awakened one", is a
title for those who are awake, and have attained nirvana and Buddhahood through their own efforts and
insight, without a teacher to point out the dharma (Sanskrit; Pali dhamma; "right way of living"). ]
In terms of the Sri Lankan
constitution – Buddhists have the duty to follow Buddha Sasana as per Gautama
Buddha. Now if Monk Ven Gnanasara Thero heads the taskforce then his teachings are taken
to be different to those of Gautama Buddha and a new Sri Lankan Buddha
is identified.
I responded in terms of sixth &
seventh senses:
[The six senses as I understand them are the first five in
your list and your intuitive sense through the truth in you. The mind is made
up of all six. The seventh sense is the connection with the Universal Energy]
The response from the Sri Lankan Buddhist citizen was:
[I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SEVENTH SENSE IN BUDDHISM. ]
This then explains why Sri Lankan Buddhist leaders isolate
themselves as a separate group. Those who go deeper than the current experience
invoke the truth of their own self and hence the intuitive power known as the
sixth sense. In terms of a nation this sixth sense is deep within itself. A
true Sri Lankan would connect to it. Those who go deeper than that would
connect to Universal Energies and therefore other cultures. It is possible that
Ven Gnanasara Thero has been identified by the President as such a
Buddha who might throw light on the effects of Buddhism Foremost article in the
constitution. It is beyond the touch of politicians.
In his article headed ‘Tiruchelvam
QC and Sabry PC: A tale of two resignations’ DBS Jeyaraj connects through his
sixth sense to identify with Thiruchelvam QC’s experience as being awakened
through Mr Ali Sabry PC.
Senior Thiruchelvam’s
father was of Vaddukoddai origin and as person who became part of Vaddukoddai
through marriage, I identify with the root logic of Vaddukoddai-Malaysian mind.
This has given me the 7th sense access to those merged minds.
As per my 7th
sense it is Neelan Thiruchelam in Justice Minister Ali Sabry who awakened to
protect his judicial heir. As per Wikipedia Neelan’s experience in constitution
making is presented as follows:
[Tiruchelvam, along with G. L. Peiris, were the lead authors of President Chandrika Kumaratunga's 1995 constitutional reform and devolution plan
(also known as the "GL-Neelan Package" or "The New Deal"). The
plan involved turning Sri Lanka from a unitary state into a "union of regions", merging of the Northern and Eastern provinces, expanding the subjects devolved to provincial councils, establishment of a mechanism to resolve disputes
between the central and provincial governments and greater recognition of Sri
Lanka's many minorities. The plan went beyond the Thirteenth Amendment and was federalism in all but name. The plan, which was
released on 3 August 1995, was generally welcomed both in Sri Lanka and abroad
but was attacked by Sinhalese nationalists and Tamil militants… The
LTTE's spokesman Anton Balasingham confirmed to Erik Solheim that they had killed Tiruchelvam, and said
it was due to him betraying Tamil interests by supporting the government's
watered down devolution package, despite them giving him prior warnings to quit.]
Now Mr
Ali Sabry in terms of secular law is the parallel of Neelan. If the President
truly cared about Mr Sabry’s wellbeing and his life itself - he would not have wanted to make another
Neelan Thiruchelvam of Mr Ali Sabry. This is as per my seventh sense.
In his article, DBS highlights this governance
connection as follow:
[In August 1956 there was a major railway accident at Mahbubnagar in the
state of Andhra Pradesh; 112 people were killed. Taking moral responsibility
for the accident, Shastri tendered his resignation but Nehru persuaded the
Minister to withdraw his resignation. However in November 1956 there was
another terrible railway accident at Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu State. There were 144
deaths. Shastri promptly submitted his resignation again. Once again Nehru
refused to accept it.
The PM told his minister that the accident was due to no fault of Shastri. It
was caused by a technical failure and the Railway Board should be held responsible
if necessary. Shastri however was much troubled by the accidents and insisted
that he be allowed to resign as a matter of principle. Finally Nehru relented.
The resignation was accepted. The Indian PM told ‘Lok Sabha’ that Shastri was a
man of conscience. “It is because he is such a man of conscience that he feels
deeply whenever there is any failing in the responsibility entrusted to his
charge,” said Nehru of Shastri.
Shastri set a high benchmark by his act of resignation then. It had a ripple
effect in the region. In Sri Lanka, known then as Ceylon, Lanka Sama Samaja
Party (LSSP) stalwart Dr. Colvin R. de Silva seized upon it. Colvin, known for
pithy sayings such as “One language, two nations, two languages one nation,”
used the Shastri resignation to take pot-shots at Government ministers. Colvin
reportedly quipped, “In India ministers resign over matters of principle. In
Ceylon (Sri Lanka) ministers resign themselves to fate.”]
As per Sri Lanka’s fate – Politicians who promote Buddhist monks, get assassinated
and law experts who promote federalism
would be killed by militants in their own community. Buddhists with sixth sense
awareness would carry intuitive intelligence of SWRD Bandaranaike who was
assassinated by a Buddhist monk. Likewise, Tamils with sixth sense awareness and
include Muslims as part of their group, would carry Neelan’s experience and
know the risk involved for Mr Sabry.
In terms of Tamil Politicians – during the time Mr Wigneswaran was chief
minister of Northern Province – the Jaffna Judiciary ruled in breach of the
fundamentals of Thesawalamai law due to which I endured deep pain. Even when Mr
Wigneswaran was made aware of it – he limited himself to wanting to know whether
he had delivered a wrong judgement. I wrote that it happened during his time
and he remained silent. In his place Mr Shastri would have written a public
review if he considered the judgment to be in breach of Thesawalamai principles
or written to me personally explaining why he thought I was wrong. Instead as
Colvin said - Mr Wigneswaran also ‘resigned
himself to fate’
As opposed to the above – many delays in my Sri Lankan projects were
cleared Administratively during this Regime and according to me that was
largely due to Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Administrative expertise. Since I
appreciate this as governance power – I believe I have insight into his mind in
this regard.
Minority community leaders would continue to
mind merge beyond Sri Lankan borders – to group themselves as regional and / or
global leaders. This is healthy for Sri Lanka and it is better that they are
alive to enjoy the feelings of being part of larger groups than being Sri Lankans
only.
As per my intuition the alternative to
rejecting the resignation of the Minister is to include him as an intellectual
in the Task Force. The President has already done that in the case of Tamils. If
Mr Sabry cares for Sri Lanka as he cares about himself – he would be the natural opposition
that Ven Gnanasara Thero would be acutely conscious of in that group.
The rest will happen through the system of Truth and its pathway of Dharma –
which satisfies the needs of all in its pathway including those maintain
Justice as per their own conscience, who may have no knowledge of this subject matter.
