Tamils Challenging the gods

The Island article ‘Sri Lanka’s challenge to the gods’ brought a smile to my mind. I am in a group of Tamils who challenge belief in god. I am their natural opposition. Lucien Rajakarunanyake – who as per his name is of Sinhalese origin has confirmed that the enemy of an enemy is my friend.

As per my knowledge, this is a lesson from Chanakyan. Wikipedia presents it as follows:

The king who is situated anywhere immediately on the circumference of the conqueror's territory is termed the enemy.
The king who is likewise situated close to the enemy, but separated from the conqueror only by the enemy, is termed the friend (of the conqueror).

— Kautilya, (Chanakyan) Arthasastra

[In the Second Sino-Japanese War, within the Pacific theater, an alliance was formed between Chinese Communists and Chinese Nationalists. Leading up to this, these forces had battled each other throughout the Chinese Civil War. However, they formed an alliance, the Second United Front in response to the mutual threat of Japanese aggression]

We had our own parallel when LTTE and the then government headed by President Premadasa formed an alliance against the Indian Peace-Keeping Force.

To my mind, ‘gods’ are the sovereign powers of a group’s investment in an issue. God is the Universal Energy made up of local gods who merge naturally. In his presentation of Chanakyan’s work through ‘Kautilya's Arthasastra on War and Diplomacy in Ancient India’

Roger Boesche wrote :

["Of war, there is open war, concealed war and silent war."  Open war is obvious, and concealed war is what we call guerrilla warfare, but silent war is a kind of fighting that no other thinker I know of has discussed. Silent war is a kind of warfare with another kingdom in which the king and his ministers—and unknowingly, the people—all act publicly as if they were at peace with the opposing kingdom, but all the while secret agents and spies are assassinating important leaders in the other kingdom, creating divisions among key ministers and classes, and spreading propaganda and disinformation.]

Effectively, LTTE  seems to have been the medium through which the silent war was practiced between India and Sri Lanka.

Those Tamils who expected more than is due to them – have now given up believing in the gods. It looks as if the King virus is also silently eliminating those who have killed the power of belief which is the real governance power.

A Tamil Diaspora leader was lamenting as follows about the High Court Ruling against a Tamils family:

[Why is Australian immigration and the high court is so adamant against granting asylum to this family despite the fact that one of their children is born in Australia. Why is the Australian

Tamil community and the activists are not doing anything to help this family.?

Can any one enlighten us.!]

My response as Australian Tamil Community leader was as follows:

[The situation in Sri Lanka has to be so bad that it would be dangerous for the family to return to Sri Lanka. That in essence would be acceptable to the immigration authorities. But the family through its public responses has failed to address this. In the last session the mother kept expressing her affection for Biloela community. This may work on political grounds at the right time but not in terms of immigration principles.

Personally, we used our family feelings to sponsor my husband’s sister and nephews. But once they established themselves they were disrespectful of us and tried to even cheat us. Now we live away from them. To my mind, every family contributes to self-governance of the community and every community contributes to the Nation. The pain with the family has taught us to use the stricter measure with others from Sri Lanka who are seeking refuge here.

Those who let down caring governors in the family would let down the national government also. If we do not want that karma to affect our genuine juniors who respect us – here as well as in Sri Lanka, then we need to separate from those who disrespect us despite our higher positions. Then the community becomes unruly.

I am also one who goes regularly to Sri Lanka and over there most of my time is in the war areas where I have influence. There is greater order there within the citizens and I am satisfied that for my part – I make them earn their benefits and maintain their dignity. That is my pathway.

Yesterday’s Island carried the article headed ‘Large number of Lankans listed as missing are living abroad under different names – FM’

To the extent this is true – we as a community are cheating Sri Lanka. We need to be true to our conscience to be self-governing. If this family is – then eventually they will get what they deserve as Australia has been kind to us.]

I was being true to my immigration god. The rest will happen as per Global Immigration God with whom my immigration god has merged.

Likewise in the case of the virus and its secret war -against governments.
