Selfless Service by Mrs Maheswaran?
Which of the two above is true? If
the Jaffna one is true then – Mrs Maheswarn was pretending to be common Sri
Lankan – entitled to Australian Government hospitality. Otherwise one needs to
conclude that the Australian Government is not opposed to LTTE ideology being
promoted in Australia.
The first picture is a poster -reported to have been posted
in Jaffna. The translation of the message is reported by adaderana.lk as
follows:
“Politics
without any personal benefits. Maheswaran gave his life for the Tamil people
then, Vijayakala gave up her ministerial post for the Tamil people today. She
is our leader.”
As per my translation the message
is as follows:
“Selfless Politics
Back then Maheswaran renounced
his life in pursuit of Peaceful life of Tamils. Now Tamil Chief Vijayakala has
renounced her position
“We are always with you”
“People who speak Tamil”
The above makes one wonder
whether Mrs Maheswaran consciously or otherwise was preparing to contest to
become Chief Minister of Northern Province through the next Provincial Council
elections. The precedence has been set by the current Chief Minister – Mr Wigneswaran
who promoted Mrs Ananthy Sasitharan, a person of similar characteristic as Mrs.
Maheswaran to Ministerial position in the Provincial Council. He thus en-cashed
his higher common heritage to win votes and popularity.
The above poster fails to
recognize the Truth and the different ways in which such Truth has been brought
out by the spouses – Mr & Mrs Maheswaran. Wikipedia reports about the position earned and held by Mr Maheswaran as
follows : ‘ He was
the former Hindu Affairs minister and a former Member of Parliament for Colombo District’
Mrs Vijayakala Maheswaran on the
other hand was elected by the Jaffna District.
One could find the natural reasons in their grooming which would have
gone with them as their respective Heritages when they left their ‘home-territory’.
Mr Maheswaran was educated at St John’s
College Jaffna whose principal Mr C E Anandarajah was assassinated. Wikipedia
reports about this as follows: ‘Anandarajah was
assassinated on 26 June 1985 in Jaffna as he was riding his motorbike. It is alleged that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam assassinated Anandarajah for organising a cricket match
with the Sri Lankan military.’
Given that Mr
Maheswaran was born in 1966, one could conclude that Mr Maheswaran was around
19 when this happened. When the principal of his alma mater was assassinated a
part of Mr Maheswaran’s heritage also was assassinated unless he in his mind, he
condemned that assassination by a group driven by lesser purpose. It is doubtful
that without St John’s College heritage, Mr Maheswaran would have won the minds
of Tamils in Colombo District.
Mrs Vijayakala
Maheswaran on the other hand is reported to have been educated at Dr. A.
Thiyagarajah Madhya Maha Vidyalayam (Karainagar Hindu College).
It is
interesting to note that on 31 December 2016 I highlighted as follows in my
article headed ‘LTTE
Infiltrating the Government?’: at http://austms.blogspot.com/2016/12/
[As per recent Asian Mirror report ‘LTTE
Leader Would Have Been Prime Minister By Now’:
‘State Minister of Child Affairs
Vijayakala Maheswaran said that Velupillai Prabhakaran, the slain leader of the
LTTE, would have been Prime Minister or at least a member of the government if
he was alive now.
Speaking at a meeting in Kilinochchi
yesterday, she said Prabhakaran was an exemplary leader and such a leader
cannot be found among world leaders now.’
Asian
Mirror highlighted also the following in relation to this issue:
[It should be recalled that the caste system plays a
much bigger role in Tamil politics in both Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, than in
the Sinhalese community. Maheswaran herself is from Karainagar, where most people are
fisher folk]
Heritages/genes
are the Truth that we carry with us from our past as well as in common with our
parents. When we are not able to identify with the reason why – through physical
observations and mental calculations, we need to search in that heritage area
which is the Truth carried by us from the past. When our minds are still that
Truth comes out.
In
democracy – an elected representative has the DUTY to stay within her/his
common belief with the People who elected her/him as well as those to whom that
place was home. That is when such a person is empowered by Natural Forces in
the form particular to that area. The Energy of that heritage is stronger with
time and lateral sharing with other cultures. There is no room for charlatans
at Sydney Murugan Temple. One who is
truly democratic is naturally supported by Murugan – the Lord of Democracy.
Those who sought Tamil only as per their current merit do not belong in that
group.
