Gandhi & Rajapaksa

We may act emotionally and / or intellectually and yet not derive the results we expect and get the benefits we think we deserve to have. The reason for this is the less visible/identifiable  powers that we recognize usually when we are in deep pain. In Hindu philosophy – as known to me - gods and demons are represented not as good and bad but as beings driven by higher minds and beings driven by animal tendencies. The latter are known as Asuras. Within their own boundaries there are good Asuras and bad Asuras. Likewise, within the gods.

To my mind, the Sri Lankan problem happened due also to armed powers taking over intellectual power. That is the parallel of Asuras imprisoning Thevas. Lord Muruga – known as the Deity of Consolidated Tamil Mind, is honoured for releasing the Thevas from the prisons of Asuras. Whether it be the official government or militants, if brawn power works faster than brain power they collude naturally in a free environment. If in 2005, Mr. Rajapaksa did pay money to LTTE leader Prabhakaran to threaten Tamils so they would not vote in the Presidential elections,  then the Sri Lankan Government formed by him as the leader was imprisoned by militants. That habit continued to result in the indiscriminate recruitment of soldiers to oppose the LTTE. That is the way of Asuras. Winning to see and to show becomes the ultimate target of Asuras.

It was therefore not surprising to read the following news about the son of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa who prevented the exercise of ownership votes in Tamil areas:

[Parliamentarians Namal Rajapaksa, D.V. Chanaka, Prassanna Ranaweera and three others were arrested by the Hambantota police in connection with the recent protest in Hambantota, Police said.
…………………………………..
The protest was held last Friday against the leasing out of Mattala International Airport to India.
The Hambantota Magistrate Court had issued a restraining order preventing protests by MP Namal Rajapaksa and D.V. Upul in the vicinity of the Hambantota Port, Indian Consulate and the roads leading to the Hambantota Port. ] Daily Mirror article dated 10 October headed – ‘Namal Rajapaksa arrested’

Hambantota is close to Kathirgamam – the shrine of Lord Muruga. Whoever is devoted to Lord Muruga would invoke ‘global powers’ of Democracy at that place. Lord Muruga completed the global travel physically to win the prize mango of Independence. The prize was awarded to the elder Brother Ganesh who followed Tradition – but Lord Muruga established His own empire on Palani Hill, AFTER renouncing the wealth from His parents. Hence zero base start that facilitates lateral spread. It is NOT the pathway of those who claim to be Nationalists at community level, based on length of time. Mr. Namal Rajapaksa as an heir of his father’s status – would not therefore be able to work the powers of Hambantota when the power of those who take the global pathway AND believe in Lord Muruga, is stronger than that of Nationalists.

I found it interesting to note that the following manifestation happened soon after Mr. Namal Rajapaksa’s protest against Indian investment:

[The Vice President of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, has stated that he ‘felt bad’ when he saw the body of slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, who ordered the assassination of his father – former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.
He said his family has Mahatma Gandhi’s values and he felt bad when he saw the body of his father Rajiv Gandhi’s assailant.
“My family has Gandhi Ji’s values. I felt bad when I saw the body of my father’s killer Prabhakaran. I shared this even with Priyanka, she said she felt bad too,” he was quoted as saying by Indian media today (10).] adaderana.lk/news headed - I felt bad when I saw Prabhakaran’s body - Rahul Gandhi
Whether Mr. Raul Gandhi actually practices Gandhi values or not – his expressions fit the commonly known Mahatma Gandhi mind. The relativity of both youth is through Velupillai Prabhakaran. One has the inheritance of status by rewarding  Prabhakaran and the other the pain through the loss of his father killed by Prabhakaran. The former is theoretical whilst the latter is real. Hence, to my mind, Natural Forces worked to reward Mr. Rahul Gandhi at around the same time they demoted Mr. Namal Rajapaksa due to actions against India, near Kathirgamam where the consolidated Hindu mind is very strong. Indians have sung the praise of Kathirgamam.
The problem with Asuras is that they invoke relativity with a strong component of ‘matter’. Meditation helps us transcend matter – so the mind is in the stillness of Truth which promotes Commonness. Money is discouraged from being a medium within families – due to this attachment to the seen matter. Belief on the other hand promotes commonness and hence least influence of matter in a relationship based on Belief. Commitment to Laws, common principles and values become the nuclear force of strongly united families.

One can see an issue through matter or through the minds of all those who produced that matter. The Tamil saying is ‘One who sees stone does not see god and one who sees god does not see stone’.  As relatives through Prabhakaran – junior Rajapaksa would naturally invoke Senior Gandhi on Hindu grounds. The more global the mind of the Sri Lankan the higher the experience at home.
