CONFIDENTIAL POWER SHARING

The shower tap in the guest bathroom had been making squeaky noise over the past few days. I mentioned it to my husband and after our  guests left mentioned it again. My husband tested it and said it was working fine. We argued and eventually when I said I was going to call a plumber - he said ‘ask Pradeep’. Pradeep is our son and he does not speak against the father. That is easy for them – the children. I let go and went about my other work. A few hours later – my husband asked me whether he ought to ‘fix the tap’. I said ‘If you want to’. He went ahead. I did not think of testing it because usually when Param attends to it, it works.
Pradeep who usually lives in Melbourne was in Sydney for work purposes. This morning when he turned on the tap it leaked and the tap came apart. When I heard the loud noise of the shower,  I knew intuitively and was first to pick up the problem as it was, and  consolidated  the  energies of all concerned – including those of my guests who live in me.  After my husband fixed it – Pradeep said ‘It’s good it happened to me and not to the next guest’  who is due in today. I said to my husband  – that it was the divinity of this home that  prevented it. Each customer is brought into me first and then served as if I was serving myself. I said to my husband that he took Pradeep as his authority / customer and not me – the highest owner. To the extent we include the other as part of ourselves – our work is a program and we do not need to prove anything to the other. Confidentiality is needed to prevent external interference and distractions. Such confidentiality facilitates Energy sharing between owners. It is that ‘confidentiality’ with my home that invoked the ownership (albeit lesser than mine) in other members of my family to cure the problem. The real problem was lack of ownership and therefore lack of motivation.
Those who lack ownership Energy need to be transparent to others concerned – so those others would take only that which is needed by themselves – as a lesson or to use in their own operations. At that stage onwards there is no compulsion to take the outcome or to leave the outcome. That is ‘project’ basis that most Western Public Services have moved to at the lower levels of operation. Under this system there is least Energy sharing during processes. Inastead  those who recognize the value through the outcome would respect it. This therefore requires Transparency and distance between the two groups - suppliers and users.
In governance of multicultural groups – project based transparency is important. Some parts of Australian media are ‘telling us’ – the public that the government is being ‘secretive’ about some of its work. But when we the members of the public said it through our own experience – the media was not interested. As Gandhi said about Indian Political leaders – the media wants to be the supreme power. When there is separation of powers – project approach and transparency is essential. Reasons for judgment by Judiciary is such an outcome. To the extent legal experts ‘wait’ for such outcomes to praise or to criticize – they are confirming that they are NOT entitled to confidential sharing of energies. In terms of Government,  Opposition has to work on Project  basis and v.v. There ought to be  NO confidential power sharing.
This has been a root problem with Sri Lankan politicians who keep shifting alliances. Here is one recent example:
[Prof. Peiris also discussed a fresh crisis caused by UNP leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s declaration that he would continue to be the Premier in case Sajith Premadasa won the presidency. Declaring that the SLPP candidate had almost 65 per cent of the vote, Prof. Peiris said that Sajith Premadasa wouldn’t have to face an issue regarding the premiership.] Island article ‘SLPP: Did Sajith give in to separatist demands?’
To the extent the UNP has been democratic I am an ‘insider’. I identified with Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe’s endorsement as one that states that he was still the head of UNP for government purposes – the same way I said that I was the authority in this family home and not Pradeep. Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe has the intuition including through his many failures which he turned into lessons learnt. That intuition would consolidate the energies of all owners – seen, known and beyond. THAT is what experience is all about.
Mr G L Peiris switched from Academic world to politics and in politics from UNP to SLFP and now to SLPP. The Island article includes the following  about his opinion about Tamil Political group:
[Prof. Peiris said that the ITAK’s declaration that it would support the candidature of Sajith Premadasa should be examined against both SLPP candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa categorically denying controversial demands.

Commenting on the demand for abolishing the long standing Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) with Counter Terrorism Act (CTA) promoted by Western interests, Prof. Peiris said the country would have been extremely vulnerable in the wake of Easter Sunday attacks if the PTA had been scrapped.]

TNA – to the extent it feels connected to those of  us who have invested in democracy – would naturally share energies with UNP which is far more democratic than SLPP. Hence there is a natural and confidential  power-sharing. That is the way of Dharma which delivers to all as per their true contributions.

PTA was never an issue with LTTE who had their own laws. Insight into LTTE was lost by the government that used the LTTE for political gain. Hence the loss of insight into Muslims who also were law unto themselves. Their attitude to PTA would be ‘Who Cares’. This PTA  law is to empower the government and it confirms lack of belief in its own citizens and therefore Confidential Power Sharing. Civilians whose communities that these perpetrators are part of are pained because it feels as if they are being punished. If not for PTA anxiety – Muslim civilians would have more freely shared with Christian civilians and that would have led to internal power sharing and cure.

NO TAMIL CANDIDACY – NO RIGHT TO DEMAND TAMIL STATE

The laws that an individual is regulated by, confirm her/his position  in  that environment. The wider the coverage the higher the status. Whether that individual is facilitated to take that position or not – it exists and when needed, the individual will take that place to confirm the order in her/his home group. Those who use outcomes instead of laws – confirm that their relationship with the group is weak. It is for this reason that in families money based interactions without the blessings of the senior-most  person are banned. Families that measure through money disintegrate. Likewise, countries.
As per EIN Presswire report headed ‘Major Tamil Political Parties Jointly Submit Demands to Presidential Candidates for Response to Decide Tamil's Position’:

[Five Major Tamil political parties have agreed on basic demands to be submitted to the Sri Lanka's major Presidential candidates for response to enable them to decide Tamil's position in the upcoming Presidential election. This initiative was coordinated by Tamil University Students.]

The ‘demands’ are those of  the University students and they are way beyond their jurisdiction in submitting them to politicians. It is most disorderly and shameful. Even if they were initiated by Politicians – they do not belong during election time. The value of each person’s vote is as per their belief in an issue. Such belief is confirmed by their true needs. The system of truth manifests it through the appropriate candidate in the appropriate environment. This may not be the election environment or even political government. The deeper the need the greater the assurance of return.
Any politician who needed to give form to Tamil expectations ought to have contested for that very purpose. To the extent Tamils overwhelmingly vote for that candidate the values that s/he represented would be confirmed as being legitimate.  That is what the  franchise is all about. That vote is the demand. No politician who is not participating has the right to formulate that demand to influence the voter one way or the other, leave alone promote themselves in an election where they have no representation.
As per Ceylon Today article headed ‘Gotabaya rejected 13 proposals ; Sajith is mum – Wiggy -  Have to check if ‘Unitary State’ has different words  in Sajith’s manifesto’ Mr Wigneswaran’s mind-structure is presented  as follows:
[‘if none of the leading  candidates accept the proposals he will ask the people of  the North to refrain from voting for them and instead vote for some other candidate. “Under no circumstance will I ask people not to vote” he stressed]
Given that no Presidential  candidate is a Tamil – the need here is for community leaders to identify with the relevant values in  the leading candidates who have demonstrated commitment to democracy and therefore separation of powers where a particular group has demonstrated diversity by structure and / or conduct. As a former member of the Judiciary Mr Wigneswaran needed to know this at least after the experience of Dr Shirani Bandaranayake – the Chief Justice who was dismissed by the Rajapaksa government. Remembering that breach and how we balanced it in our own minds becomes our true armour against such forces in our current environments.
As per the Island article ‘PM says no secret pacts between Sajith and Tamil parties’ :
[Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday that New Democratic Front candidate Sajith Premadasa had not reached any secret agreements with Tamil political parties.

The Prime Minister was quoted by his office, in a media statement, as having said at some meetings in Jaffna yesterday (3) that the NDF candidate had made known his position on women, youth, etc. "The parties that agree to these ideas have joined forces with our candidate."

Only the NDF camp has offered a solution for the national problem that is acceptable to the North and South alike, the PM’s Office has said.]

That confirms commitment to Unitary State and Equal Opportunity principles. Out of all the current politicians – Mr Wickremasinghe has demonstrated global mindedness which makes Sri Lanka attractive to global investors. More impressively – ordinary Australians living in Canada have demonstrated such merger by compensating for the damage done by Australian Government. SBS Reports as follows under the heading ‘Meet the Australian expats helping ex-Manus Island detainees get a fresh start in Canada’
[Laura Beth Bugg doesn’t live in Australia anymore, but the plight of refugees stuck in Australia’s offshore processing system hasn’t left her mind.
“My family is still in Australia. My friends are still in Australia. I’m Australian – and as an Australian, I feel responsible to do something about this,” Ms Bugg told SBS News from Toronto.
Ms Bugg is part of the Canadian branch of Australian Diaspora Steps Up (Ads-Up Canada), a group of Australian expats and Canadian locals helping to resettle refugees from the Manus Island and Nauru detention centres in Canada.]

Global minded Tamils likewise have the opportunity to groom Sri Lankan Tamils into democracy and therefore globalization. If the Sri Lankan government is committed to democracy – the network would include the government. Otherwise it would bypass the government and work through private groups. In his Daily Mirror article ‘Tabs, Pads and so on… Promises – if Kept, a Paradise!’ Mr KKS Perera analyses as follows:

[Voters are flooded with all kinds of promises, our politicians hardly address the priorities, the real wants of the people, and instead they aim at winning the gullible poor masses. Campaign promise is a promise or an election guarantee made to the voter by a candidate or political party that is trying to get elected. The UK, Spain, Sweden, Portugal and Canada, we find the highest percentages of promise fulfilment by government with one party rule, with lower percentages in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria and Ireland in most of which, the governments are alliances or coalitions. ]
The sanitary pad request by women cadre in the LTTE was immediately satisfied by leader Prabhakaran. I learnt about it from the women cadre. That was their measure and not mine. As per my measure,  it was highly unlikely that Prabhakaran would have become democratic leader of the Tamil community. The one party system works better when the juniors leave it to the government to govern including in their local home environments where truth ought to govern. . While Sri Lankan Tamils claim to be self-governing, they failed to resist militancy because they left democracy to the leaders whilst they themselves practiced autocracy wherever they found dependent groups – including amongst politicians. The University student group is confirming to be such an autocratic group.

First among the ‘demands’ is listed as follows by EIN Presswire is:

[Reject Unitary State in the new Constitution and establish a Federal State for Tamils.]

Despite the leadership of Mr Wigneswaran as Chief Minister – Jaffna Public Administration is seriously lacking in democracy. Once there is Federal structure – we are assured to become like the Sinhalese government and would promote internal militancy led by University students. Leaders who keep blaming others without looking at themselves – turn wrongs into sins. Once they are sins – there  are beyond our control.  Dictatorship in Northern Sri Lanka where the Vaddukoddai Resolution was given birth – is WRONG.  When we let it become a sin – even god will not come to our rescue.

THE UNIVERSAL VOTE & THE BUSINESS OF WAR

This morning, I meditated in the room instead of in the common area facing the ocean.  It was not due to any conscious plan. A little later I heard our Airbnb guest use our kitchen facilities. I then realised that I was led by my intuition to change my routine to facilitate our guest. To my mind, that is the value of my genuine service through which I am the customer and I am the service provider. My Reserves accumulated in the past lead me. I thanked the Universal power of Truth that preceded my conscious thought which facilitated our good guest to feel at home in our kitchen.  The more I thought about it – the more I appreciated the system of truth which delivers without fail – as per our true motive when we worked and/or forewent immediate benefits. The support happens at the time of our need in the form needed. When we pool our work / wealth in common it acquires that true energy which remembers beyond time and space borders. I now value  more and more that invisible connection which actually precedes our conscious thoughts. As per my discovery, this is the deepest causal force in any manifestation and most difficult to identify with – through physical and / or mental faculties. It Exists and leads us.  The opposite happens when we take more benefits than we have earned. That is negative Energy and it misleads.

Later this morning I received a communication from Canadian Tamil - Yoga Joseph – headed ‘Negativity vortex crumbled Life of Sri Lankan Tamils’ by Northern Breeze. This article included the following:

“I realized that if my thoughts immediately affect my body, I should be careful about what I think. Now if I get angry, I ask myself why I feel that way. If I can find the source of my anger, I can turn that energy into something positive.” – Yoko Ono

I felt a connection with the genuine purpose of this sharing. Thamby Ramar of Northern Breeze writes as follows  in relation to the upcoming Sri Lankan Presidential Elections:

[The fact about life is that outside influences affect our energy state, while positive energy is absolutely contagious, negative energy is more infectious and if people are in bad spirits and in a negative state of mind, they are more likely to remain in this state. After the war ended in 2009 'negative peace' had prevailed in northeast of Sri Lanka, when the present government was formed after the 2015 parliamentary election saw this State negativity vortex crumble. This gave some comfort for the Sri Lankan Tamils, who suffered most by the ethnic conflict. Now opportunity is presented to them to rid of the vortex caused by the state once and for all, by voting for the right candidate to be the next president of Sri Lanka.]

This has been the essence of my message also over the years. The ‘form’ in which I present my feelings varies as per the audience. Within Tamils – there are those who would continue to seek ‘active conflict’. Those who are connected to the Tamil Diaspora including through family relationships have a good proportion of them.  If  those members of the Diaspora pamper them and use their name to benefit within their diaspora community – then their vote is likely to be for the business of war. Most of them deal at individual level and not through common structures. The intuitive Energy of those folks would draw them away from passive harmony. They thus disconnect with the Common positive energy.

The author of the above article states:

[For the minorities in Sri Lanka the only right candidate is fielded by New Democratic Front (NDF) an alliance of 50 over democratic forces. The candidate Sajith Premadasa with Swan symbol has a close battle ahead. Every adult citizen in Sri Lanka is given equal right of being eligible to vote on 16 November and all Tamils must honor that right and vote for Sajith.]

The government that was active from 2015 was / is effectively the same grouping. Even though Mr Sirisena did not deliver as promised those Sri Lankans who sought to weaken the Executive Presidency had the pathway through which to channel their Energies. Relative to majority group, for minorities it is easier to base such channelling through their investment in issues that  affect them. The mothers who lost their children in the war and are still in pain would vote naturally for cessation of armed militancy which facilitated the armed forces to occupy Tamil areas.

It is therefore important that each voter votes as per her/his true experience. This would include the value added by those who shared in their pain one way or the other. Now we need to let that truth flow and observe what the People are telling us through their votes. Analysing the  voting patterns of minorities who are not particularly interested in personalities, but have had deep experiences due to ‘environmental circumstances’ – would lead our relationship with the government.

The energies of those who support/ed militants would go in favour of Mr Rajapaksa. Those Tamils who have benefited from investment by those outside their local areas – and are appreciative of this – would naturally vote against Rajapaksa who waged war at the level of militants who sought separation. Had it been disciplinary action – it would have elevated that group to be above that of Separatists. By claiming victory – Rajapaksas confirmed ‘possessing’ separatism.

As per my conscious mind – UNP does have deeper connection to Tamils than SLPP which has disconnected with the root – SLFP. On time basis – the UNP and SLFP have had more experiences with ITAK and All Ceylon Tamil Congress than with newer parties. Those energies would lead the still minded voter who is true to her/himself.

The challenge for Premadasa is not only to remain within UNP but also respect, value and keep within UNP those elders with natural uniting energies .

RANIL THE FACILITATOR

As parents/seniors  grow older and children / juniors develop their own structures some parents tend to include themselves in the structures of their children while others become facilitators of the children. Those of us who are ‘attached’ to our investment in our children / juniors would tend to feel hurt when the children treat us as juniors – often due to their enthusiasm to prove themselves to wider community. Today, our grandnephew who was born in Australia gets married in Northern Sri Lanka. Since he acted as our junior and sought our blessings – we blessed him. But we decided not to attend in person because our nephew acted as if he were our senior. Structures confirm ownership. The discipline of the leader confirms the civilization and therefore the reliability of that group. Given that our grandnephew is a doctor, marrying a doctor – it is important that we ‘show’ this disciplinary action – so that they would be ethical in their professional life.
The communication headed ‘Call to Step Down With Dignity’ from Professor Asoka N.I.Ekanayaka, Ph.D(Lond), DDPH.RCS(Eng.), BDS, to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe caused  friction with the above value that I carry. To my mind, it was a ‘use and discard’ attitude unbecoming of a person with high academic status. That status is relative to others in Sovereign Sri Lanka and should not be used as if it were a possession by an individual.

When we see the other person through a relationship – we respect the structure that the relationship is a part of. But the more we see the other person as an individual the more likely we are to limit ourselves to the visible and/or known outcomes in our interactions with that person. As Prime Minister – Mr Ranil Wicremesighe is senior by position to all other Sri Lankans – except the President. Professor Ekanayaka writing for academic purposes – would be senior to Mr Ranil Wicremesighe in the academic world. The two structures when mixed indiscriminately – are like mixing Islam and Christianity. That happens when the common pathway become weak.

On 15 March 2007, the Daily News published excerpts of the speech by Dr. Hilary Cooray at the induction ceremony of the 26th President of the Organisation of Professional Associations. It included the following:

[Professor Ekanayake said, the international community seems to be observing Sri Lanka’s human rights record with great anxiety. There is the seeming, unprecedented public anxiety about the credibility, integrity and independence of the Judiciary.
Neither should be expected that our universities would be the last bastion of reason, rationality and enlightenment in these dark days. In many parts of our universities, ragging which is an euphemism for campus torture, perpetuates a degraded, mass undergraduate culture, that is the very antithesis of the liberal values that define a university.]

The above communication to the Prime Minister was signed under the status ‘Emeritus Professor (University of Peradeniya)’
Does it indicate ‘enlightenment or darkness’?  In this current environment of militancy becoming terrorism at global level – it is important for us to examine ourselves through every angle that causes friction in the global mind.
Professor Ekanayake  states in his opening paragraph of the communication to Prime Minister:
[It now looks as if spurred on by a tidal wave of popular sentiment Sajith Premadasa might well sweep to power at the forthcoming presidential election. His charismatic  personality and  fresh vision have dramatically revived a dull drooping dispirited UNP,  generating a spirit of hope, eager expectation, and passionate enthusiasm amongst millions of supporters reminiscent of JR Jayawardena’s campaign in 1977.]

As per the above , one ought to then expect a Constitutional change towards a stronger Executive Presidency – as the parallel of the 1978 Constitution through which Mr Jayawardene elevated his position to unilateral royalty. The support that  Sajith Premadasa rendered during last year’s Constitutional Crisis – to the rule of law is eliminated by the structure projected as per Professor Ekanayake’s mind. In 1977 as well as in 2015 – Tamils who were truly Sri Lankan were supported and promoted by Natural Powers to become Equal Opposition in National Parliament. But on both occasions the elected leaders ignored this -  and thereby disconnected from the true heritage which is expressed as fundamental rights in a reliable  constitution. During last year’s crisis – Mr Ranil Wickremesighe demonstrated quiet and reliable leadership by becoming the medium of rule of law. To the extent Mr Ranil Wickremesighe is respected  as the leader – this power to quietly resist the excessive excitement is likely to be lost to the UNP and also to the Parliament. By so expressing Professor Ekanayake  is carrying over his disappointments from University to Public life through Politics. What a mess!

Professor Ekanayake  states also as follows:

[Otherwise the numerous reasons for your unpopularity are the stuff of which future biographers might write about !

They include unfortunate personality traits  where ordinary people might perceive you as detached disconnected and distracted, lacking in natural warmth sincerity and tenderness. Pretentious gestures and posturing to the contrary  look contrived and cannot quite dissipate the impression that in heart and mind  you have never really got out of the cultural straight jacket of the spoilt upper crust Colombo educated social classes in whose company you are more in your element
.]

‘I hold as friends many who would seem ‘upper crust Colombo educated social classes’.  To the extent I take up leading positions – I need to respect those who developed and maintained such a ‘class’ – including through separation of powers on the basis of work based caste system. This would motivate others to aim higher and think higher.  So long as they do not ‘abuse’ that status for immediate benefits such class grouping is healthy. It is unhealthy to artificially eliminate it – as LTTE also did. As per Hindu legends Lord Vishnu took Vamana (short)  Brahmin Avataram / Incarnation to highlight that a good person in Asura creed  / low class – was also divine through surrender and v.v. That is when one becomes a true governor. Emperor Mahabali (Great Sacrifice) – also known as Bali - submitted his intellectual powers to Lord Vishnu who came in the form of Vamana (dwarf). In Kerala Onam festival is celebrated in honor of Emperor Bali who was extraordinarily generous. To my mind, the moral of the legend is that when one who is victorious to become apparent owner of lands develops ego. To enjoy exponentially – one has to renounce physical ownership which automatically raises the mind to Common ownership.

Unlike JR who lost the power to control hooligans who rioted in 1983 – Mr Ranil Wickremesighe became a quiet medium of democracy and rule of law at his level. This facilitated the investors in democracy to submit their work through the path of democracy. Sajith would need to respect Mr Ranil Wickremesighe  and through Mr Ranil Wickremesighe all those who have quietly become the leaders of their own home groups through democracy. Leadership of UNP is up to the members of the UNP. Currently UNP under Mr Ranil Wickremesighe represents Democracy and Rule of Law.  It is be shameful that  Mr Ranil Wickremesighe is being  asked to step down,  by someone who holds the position of ‘Emeritus Professor’.  That in itself confirms militancy.

Mr Ranil Wickremesighe who is a Natural Governor does not need such an apparent title to govern. Professor Ekanayake  has disrespected the Separation of Powers needed between Academic world which is required to Research and Teach those who qualify for higher education  - and Government which is required to represent and lead the whole nation actively.

WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OF TAMILS?

Each time we complete our experience by identifying with the truth at that point – our work and sacrifices that led to the discovery of that truth  become the foundations of our further travel. Fundamental Rights – Natural or written - confirm this. It is therefore disappointing to note the following report which reveals frivolous and vexatious claim by a Sri Lankan Lawyer:
[A Fundamental Rights (FR) petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking an interim injunction against the signing of certain agreement with the U.S.  including the MCC, ACSA and SOFA by the government of Sri Lanka.

The FR petition has been filed by Attorney-at-Law Darshana Weraduwage while the Attorney General, President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera have been named as respondents. ] – Adaderana article ‘FR petition filed against signing of MCC agreement’

Article 35 (1) of the Sri Lankan Constitution provides as follows:

[ 35. (1) While any person holds office as President of the Republic of Sri Lanka, no civil or criminal proceedings shall be instituted or continued against the President in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by the President, either in his official or private capacity: Provided that nothing in this paragraph shall be read and construed as restricting the right of any person to make an application under Article 126 against the Attorney-General, in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by the President, in his official capacity]

A lay litigant who lacks knowledge of law but is deeply distressed enough to  believe that it is her/his right to sue the members of a government could be accepted as being genuine in making such an application. But when a lawyer does so it questions the validity of that person’s legal status itself. It also confirms the lack of professionalism within the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.

During last year’s Constitutional Crisis – the immunity of the President was also examined by some of us. That was a completed experience to us which empowers us from within. That becomes our karmic base for the next stage.

Yet Sri Lankan lawyers seem to be oblivious to this requirement. On 18 October 2019, I demonstrated this through my article headed ‘SRI LANKAN JUDICIARY & IN LIMINE DISMISSAL’, in relation to the Dual Citizenship matter heard by the Court of Appeal :
[The 1978 Constitution provided as follows in terms of Presidential Immunity:
[35 (1). While any person holds office as President, no proceedings shall be instituted or continued against him in any court or tribunal in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by him either in his official or private capacity. ]

The above immunity has been upheld in the amended constitution. Hence how did the Courts accept a petition that included ‘Hon President Mahinda Rajapaksa’ as the 6th Respondent???]
No law expert  in my email list demonstrated any interest. This includes Mr Sumanthiran and Mr Wigneswaran who claim to serve the Tamil community. One may ask the question ‘what if they did not read your articles?’ My response to that is that – ‘One or both of  us is not being true to ourselves. Since I am true to myself – I conclude that these lawyers are not true to themselves and therefore their stated profession’ .

As if to confirm my feelings on this – our daughter Uma said this morning that her daughter’s friend who lost her father recently had gone off food but that she ate the cutlets that I make regularly for my grandchildren which Uma had shared with that family during their mourning  period. I felt deeply touched by this. It confirmed to me the value of my investment in Australian children of that age (11 years) as if they were my grandchildren. That feeling of deep satisfaction meant that that child was also my grandchild. That is how truth spreads itself.

If therefore lawyers who hold/held senior positions were committed to the ethics of their profession – they would contribute to the truth in practice of law to make the common Sri Lankan mind more healthy.  Obviously the above two law experts fall well short of that standard needed in self-governance.

But again the system of truth drew my attention to the work of fellow Chartered Accountants led by Nihal Sri Ameresekera. The Financial Times presented Nihal’s work as follows under the heading  - Nihal’s new book exposes “Settlement of colossal fraud on Sri Lanka Government”

[………………………………………….. Ameresekere discloses that in his crusade to combat fraud and corruption at the highest levels in society, he was confronted with the reality of the Government of Sri Lanka’s indifference to the enforcement of the rule of law and the upholding of its commitments under the UN Convention Against Corruption; and that ironically on the contrary, he had to face malicious capricious actions, with vexatious litigations, compelling his Application to Court to Wind-up the Company, resulting in the Government of the present Executive President, arbitrarily and surreptitiously enacting ad hominem legislation to, inter-alia, acquire the company!]

As a junior, I voted for Nihal to become President of the Student Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. That was independent and against the ‘block’ vote that went to Nihal’s opponent Rajakulendran. Nihal won – by a slim margin (9 votes as per my recollection) . Connecting to Nihal’s above mentioned work – confirmed to me that even as a student – I had an independent mind. It also confirmed to me that the Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka of my generation were committed to professional ethnics than lawyers – then and now.
When we know the truth of someone who is disorderly and as per that truth – they do not see any reason to change – we need to become their distant relatives. That restructured position confirms how we read them. That structure becomes our protective armour/kavasam from the negative energies in these folks.   Those who are bound to us by faith are also protected by that armour.
When we vote against corrupt politicians – as per our own experience and / or that of someone of respect in our home-group, we invoke that protective armour around our mind.
As per Tamil Guardian report headed ‘Sinhala candidates ignored our demands - C V Wigneswaran’, Mr Wigneswaran stated :

“Though we set out all of these requests, we find that… almost all the other Sinhalese candidates have rejected or did not want to even discuss it or open the file even and have a look at the problems that we have”

This confirms dependence on Central Government to resolve the problems of Tamils.
Also - Mr Wigneswaran is reported to have stated in his public statement dated 29 October 2019:
[So, under those circumstances we have decided that we will not ask our people to vote for a particular person, but allow a free vote with regard to our people, let them decide, whomever whom they want to vote for, one.]

This confirms Unitary structure. If Mr Wigneswaran truly believed in the fundamental rights of Tamils to govern themselves – he would have confirmed this by himself becoming a Presidential candidate. It is almost certain that he would not have become President but the pattern of voting would have confirmed whether majority Tamils believed in his policies – including about genocide. Likewise, if Mr Wigneswaran had actually practiced the law in Administration of Court proceedings – he would have engaged with victims  who have demonstrated such investment. When we vote through belief – we vote for ourselves in that position in our own local environments. The true value of that vote then spreads naturally to the whole. THAT is the purpose of devolution. Mr Wigneswaran obviously does not believe that he is President of Tamils.

In the paper published by Consultants 21 Ltd. – under the heading ‘Vexatious Litigations’, the following is stated about Mr Wigneswaran:

[The Court of Appeal by its said Judgment, written by Justice C.V. Wigneswaran, after hearing only the Revision Applications Nos. 721/98, 728/98 and 738/98 on the matter of the grant of Interim Orders i.e. Restraining Orders, most shockingly dismissed, without any hearing, whatsoever, the Leave to Appeal Applications, which were never taken-up. That alone well and truly demonstrated that Justice C.V. Wigneswaran had a hidden agenda. Subsequently, the Supreme Court granted Special Leave to Appeal highlighting such perversity. Prejudice caused by Minister of Justice & Deputy Minister of Finance, G.L. Peiris, now Minister of External Affairs In the said Judgment, Justice C.V. Wigneswaran, as morefully set out here in below, had extensively quoted and relied on the false, baseless, malicious and mala-fide Statements, which had been made by the Minister of Justice & Deputy Minister of Finance, G.L. Peiris, later Minister of External Affairs, which Statements had been proven to be false, and made spitefully in the context of Minister of Justice & Deputy Minister of Finance, G.L. Peiris, having been a party personally adversely affected by a Condition in the Settlement Agreements, as a former Member of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka…………………… Appallingly, Justice C.V. Wigneswaran on an Application made by S. Sivarasa, President’s Counsel, supporting the Contempt Application of Cornel & Co. Ltd., concurred that the Contempt matter would be withdrawn, if the matters affecting Cornel & Co. Ltd., were settled - was this not an instance of sheer abuse of the process of Court, blatantly condoned by Justice C.V. Wigneswaran akin to a ‘gun being held against the head’ ?]

It is obvious that consciously or subconsciously – Mr Wigneswaran has ‘identified’ with the Rajapaksa regime. Since Mr S Sivarasa PC is Australian in addition to being Sri Lankan, it is important that the Australian Diaspora of Sri Lankan origin regulates is thinking through Common Values to develop a strong and self-sustaining heritage for our children.

Attorney-at-Law Darshana Weraduwage is confirmed to have teamed up with Mr Nagananda Kodituwakku in a previous matter – reported on 03 May 2017, by Lanka Business Online:
[The Supreme Court decision came after taking up three petitions filed by Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardane, Attorneys-at-law Darshana Weraduwage and Nagananda Kodituwakku before court under section 121 (1) of the constitution.]

Is the current case an attempt to draw attention to Presidential Candidate - Mr Nagananda Kodituwakku? In any case, it leads an orderly mind to conclude that under such leadership one ought to expect more disorder in Legal Administration which decides outside the parameters of law. Such opposition as per our true experience is healthy for our own minds.

CLEVER PM & PRESIDENT’S IMMUNITY

From time to time children  seem cleverer than their parents – leading to rebellion and/or other leadership confusions. In a system of democracy – voters are the parents of politicians. Clever politicians who ‘tell’ the wise citizen damage the democratic structure – just as clever children who play the senior  role with their parents damage the family structure. It is for these reasons also that the governing head of state / institution / family has immunity from being ‘found fault with’.

Professor Ratnajeevan Hoole has repeatedly demonstrated such restlessness and it happened again:
[A tense moment arose at an Election Commission media briefing today as Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya publicly declared that a controversial comment attributed to Commission Member Prof. Ratnajeevan Hoole was the personal opinion of an inexperienced election official.
Prof. Hoole, according to Deshapriiya, had told the media that no candidate in the upcoming presidential election would secure more than 50% of the vote. (In such an event, the Commission would have to count the second and third preferential votes cast by the electorate, a process that could delay the announcement of the final result).
As Prof. Hoole was responding to a question at this morning’s media briefing about internet voting, Deshapriya interrupted his colleague mid-sentence to remark that his answer, along with his previous comment, did not reflect the views of the Commission.
Said Prof. Hoole: “Regarding postal voting, I think it’s very out of date. The way to go is to vote on the internet. We deal with millions of rupees <unclear>. Which do you value more, the billions saved in -“
At which point, Deshapriya cut him off, with a: “It is not the Commission’s decision. It is his own decision. Even India is not going for internet voting.”
Deshapriya, in an uncharacteristically stern voice, then complained that Prof. Hoole was voicing opinions not shared by the Commission he represents.] Republic Next article ‘Tensions high at Election Commission over difference of opinion’

All of us are influenced by the environment that we are part of. If Professor Hoole who is clever, sought to publish his work – he needs to wait until he is the head or separate from the Election Commission and publish his work through an institution where he is the head. In traditional families – marriage renders such an opportunity to have one’s own kingdom.

Election Commissioner Mr Mahinda Deshapriya is experienced in Sri Lankan elections. Even if internet voting is better by merit – the timing is inappropriate and confirms the motive to be ‘show of cleverness’ rather than sharing of wisdom. That was how the American-return-Vice Chancellor,  failed at the University of NSW.

Cleverness has to be received by the other side – to become wisdom that naturally enriches our environment forever. Every completed experience becomes the common natural power of that environment. The natural power of any environment is its true heritage. Expressions to the media by Professor Hoole who himself writes to the public confirm that Professor Hoole is relying on others to get his message across. This would distract him from being Election Commissioner – empowered by those who have completed experiences through the Election Commission. Most of them may be unsung heroes but to the extent they completed their workplace experiences including as cleaners - they would be naturally empowered in any environment at that level.

Not all holy persons publish their work. The published work of a true ascetic would be far less in value than the real value of the discovery itself. Discovery of truth makes one Independent. A huge part of this comes from respect for their gurus / forms of god / truth. Respect for the laws of nature empowers us to complete our experiences in that environment.

It is for these reasons that the relationship between the current President and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, failed. The junior was cleverer than the senior. It was intended to be  a transitional relationship but tended towards the past where Mr Rajapaksa showed cleverness over the common voter.

These days I appreciate more and more the Christian message ‘Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.’ As per my belief – Gandhi renounced high status and worked as per the structure of the low status Indian. The return was inheritance of India itself. Cleverness unshared is not inherited. Even if we discover the laws of Nature / Truth by remaining in our single space – we develop heritage. This is naturally shared through the law of truth.
Presidential Immunity prevents shows of power by clever juniors. Article 33A of the Sri Lankan Constitution is a show of cleverness by a junior. It states:

[The President shall be responsible to Parliament for the due exercise, performance and discharge of his powers, duties and functions under the Constitution and any written law, including the law for the time being relating to public security]

One who is wise by completing her/his experience at the lower level should not be ‘told’. If the President has immunity – then he is above the written law. He is taken to be the highest level governor elected by the People. The beauty of the governor is that s/he confirms that those who renounce their cleverness status – are able to work the whole. True work never dies. It transforms to empower exponentially.

To the extent the Presidential Candidates talk about ‘clever’ ways in which they would operate – they are cheating the people and therefore themselves as ordinary citizens. In turn they will then inherit the karma of a clever junior overpowering them. We need more of the wise like Mr Mahinda Deshapriya to protect the true Sri Lankan wisdom from damage by clever juniors who fail to respect their past.
The completed circle of karma arrests continuity and therefore returns of good or bad. From then on the good or the bad in our current environments lead us to the needy. If our minds are functional as per current environments – the past does not affect us. It’s when we activate the past or become idle minded in our current environments that the past affects us – the bad joining the bad and the good joining the good.
