COMMON LAW IS HEALTHY MINORITY

[Former Western Province Governor Azath Salley claims that terrorist leader Zahran Hashim’s group torched 120 houses belonging to traditional Muslims in Kattankudy in the Eastern Province in 2017, however the police did nothing regarding that.

He said that the people living in the area took to the streets and protested demanding the arrest of Zahran, but even then they didn’t arrest him.

“They did nothing. The OIC who was preparing to arrest him was transferred immediately,” he said, testifying before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday attacks.

Salley also claimed that from 2005 onwards, the Police and the Thowheed Jamath completely worked together. “That has to be said clearly. The Thowheed Jamath and the Police worked together.”

He also alleged that traditional Muslims who went and filed complaints with the police against them were either chased away or arrested.

Unless there is objectively measurable proof confirming the above, one relies on ‘Balance of Probabilities’ method to evaluate the validity of the above evidence to confirm that the manifestations did happen. Interpreting ‘what happened’ would vary as per each person’s belief. In a nation that is using majority religion - Buddhism as the law -  even common secular law is a minority power. Truth alone would deliver Sri Lankans from this servitude to position power. The curse is already on Sri Lankan Buddhists. If we the minorities - including  those committed to common/secular  law rely on Buddhist leadership to lead us to nationhood we are fooling ourselves. The constitution itself is undemocratic. To be democratic it needs the support of Buddhists to eliminate article 9 which renders Buddhists superior status - even in a conflict that involved mainly  Christians and Muslims. The result was Separatism in Parliament.

When the Mother- law is incapable of leading us to believe in democracy - we need to become independent of the law and rely on Truth - our own Truth. The rest happens through the system least visible but most powerful - i.e. the system of natural justice. I believe in this system even though from time to time I feel downhearted due to disrespect demonstrated by the very people I include as part of myself.

One such example of support happened yesterday when our newest staff of 3 months said to me that after joining as staff she was feeling more motivated including in cooking and other services to the family. As the young lady narrated what she was doing now that she did not before - it was as if I was reborn in that family of toddy tapper origin. They emigrated to urban  Vaddukoddai - not too far from my husband’s traditional home. Not one member of that family that I became a part of nor my own family juniors demonstrated how this system of rebirth worked to produce real heirs. Kowsi confirmed that in my next birth also I would be an independent leader sharing my true qualities with others who are seeking. It was easier for Kowsi also because her relatives overseas did not even talk to her. I did due to our institutional values and structural requirements. We do not make any profit at money level. But at Human Resource level - we are developing heritage in Vaddukoddai that would sustain the next generation.

This is the duty of every minority group - including Christians and Muslims. The Muslim ministers who resigned are richer now than Christian leaders who remain in governmernt and therefore are effectively juniors of that government.

Charles Sarvan - a German Tamil - wrote as follows through his Sri Lanka Guardian artilce ‘Sri Lanka’s Sinhala-Tamil Divide: A Fatal Tamil Unawareness :

[Allow me to relate a personal, revelatory, incident from my article, ‘Racism and “exceptionalism”’: “While an undergraduate at the Peradeniya Campus in the 1950s, one of my closest friends happened to be a Sinhalese Buddhist. I spent holidays with him at his parental home in what was then a little village. His mother was a personification of gentleness and kindness, wise and caring, yet ready to smile or laugh. She liked me and it would not be an exaggeration to say she treated me as if I were one of her own family. Yet my friend told me that, while he was a growing child, she had related stories which portrayed Tamils not only as “the Other”, but which created the image in his mind and imagination of the Tamil as trouble and menace, to be distrusted, held at a distance and controlled. I have not the slightest doubt this was not her intention: she simply was not aware of the image of ‘the Other’ that folk tales and folk history create; their effect on the mind and imagination of a child and, finally, on the hapless Tamil. Essentially kind, decent and good she was simply “innocent” (in the sense of being unaware) of the possible long-term effects of the stories she narrated, tales she told and retold simply to entertain her son. Folk history and stories help to explain the intensity of hatred, and the ferocity of attack, during successive anti-Tamil riots and pogroms. They form an unbroken line of suspicion, resentment and hatred from ancient times into the present]

I noted the words ‘yet my friend told me that, while he was a growing child, she (mother) had related stories which portrayed Tamils not only as “the Other”, but which created the image in his mind and imagination of the Tamil as trouble and menace, to be distrusted, held at a distance and controlled.

The difference is common belief through the son. The events that followed confirmed that the lady was right in terms of separation which confirmed that Buddhists were leaders in Separation. JVP confirmed this Separatism trait long before LTTE did. We call them ‘Piravik kunam’ / birth traits. When rights and wrongs are not balanced - the net value becomes separated as inalienable traits of the individual soul which would naturally parter others for better or for worse. The Buddhist lady who distrusted Tamils made a junior of Charles Sarvan - at the level of her son. To the extent Charles preferred that to being distrusted - he diluted the contribution by Sri Lankan Tamils to be independent / sovereign within their own resources. Charles did not take rebirth in Peradeniya and hence continues ancient measures as current.

Most young ones here in Jaffna do not know about the Tamil leaders mentioned by Charles. But from time to time - they recognize those like me who ‘completed’ experiences and relationships through Truth recognized about the highest member of the current group. That is when our work becomes of heritage value. Buddhist leaders took-over the positions of leadership when the British left. By using the name of Buddha for relative values - they demoted Buddha in them to the lower  level of relativity and thus separated themselves from Buddhist heritage. Sri Lankans who are independent of politicians but without needing to ‘show’ such independence are the true heirs of Sri Lanka. They / we are inalienable part of Sri Lankan heritage - whatever language we speak, whatever religion we follow.

Believers in Common Law are more likely to feel Sri Lankan than Buddhist Politicians and Monks who demand relative superiority and for this reason minority status is a blessing in disguise so long as we seek independence and not relativity with  Buddhists. That is the 50:50 theory in current form.

BUDDHIST TRUTH, CHRISTIAN TRUTH, MUSLIM TRUTH OR TERRORISTS’ TRUTH?

[ The importance of ascertaining the truth behind the Easter Sunday bombings sooner rather than later is that it can help to prevent a recurrence of such a terrible possibility. ] Jehan Perera in his Colombo Telegraph article headed ‘Safeguarding Country From Recurrence Of Easter Sunday Bombing’

The Truth is abstract. My truth is likely to look different to  Jehan’s truth when produced as ‘facts’. Each person feeling the effects is part of the problem and therefore the solution.

The common reason for the Easter bombings is recognized as  extremism given religious form. From the point of view of Tamils who are also part of the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka - the name of Buddhism was used by political leaders to assume positions of leadership. Did Buddhism cause the problem? When a leader states that Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country is it an expression of Truth or merely the ‘seen’? Hearsay is dismissed in a court of law. Hence as per the fundamentals of the judicial system - politicians who claim that Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country - because majority look  Buddhists are actually investing against the fundamentals of Judicial administration.

Administration includes a large component of external knowledge. Unless therefore there is balance at the level of application -  those without experience would have difficulty in Administering. As a Hindu, I would need to learn the codes of Buddhism to Administer Buddhists and v.v. The alternative is common belief. Practitioners of Buddhism would have the natural authority of commonness to administer Buddhists. To govern non-Buddhists such leaders have to renounce Administration and therefore have to use the belief based pathway of cause and effect as if s/he caused a manifestation and s/he is experiencing the effects of it. They are true governors. But to get there - one needs to renounce Administration. When I feel frustrated with Courts in Northern Sri Lanka, I use ‘governance’ which is extremely difficult where males dominate. I could hire the most expensive lawyer here and be assured of victory. But then I would not qualify as the representative of the Public who are largely not able to pay high fees. So I play ‘dumb’ and learn their system and use only those that seem balanced to me.

Where majority in a group do not have knowledge of law - belief becomes the reliable pathway and truth experienced by one becomes becomes the law that regulates the pathway. Making changes to Sharia law while keeping ‘Buddhism foremost’ in the constitution blocks access to the common land-based pathway of democracy. THAT is the truth - that majority Parliamentarians in Sri Lanka have been denied visas to the land of democracy. This was confirmed by the Buddhist monks expelling Muslim politicians from the Parliament - which is now a Buddhist Parliament in looks.

Had they asked for Buddha’s blessings - they would have cured instead of punishing. In real terms the Muslim leaders who were democratic - become natural global citizens - as was the case with a good proportion of Tamils who had the parallel experience many decades ago. Ultimately the system of Truth delivers to all practitioners of truth.

TERRORISM &TOURISM

[The end of the internal terror problem, mainly concentrated in the

North of the island, raged for over thirty years with successive

Sri Lankan governments struggling to control the renegade

LTTE group. 2005 saw the end of the Bandaranaike dynasty and the

election by a slim margin of Mahinda Rajapaksa who fought the

election on a platform of bringing the terror problem to an end.

Almost remarkably his government were indeed able to bring an end

and 2009 ushered in a new opportunity to Sri Lanka. The principal

Consciously or otherwise, the author Faraz Shauketaly has made the

connection between alleged Terrorism and Tourism. Tourism is objectively

provable. Terrorism is largely subjective. If the common international citizen

had believed that Sri Lanka suffered due to Terrorism there would have been

no tourism in Sri Lanka for at least 30 years. As per the tourism litmus test -

Sri Lanka did not suffer from Terrorism of International proportions.

The free traveller confirms this truth. China is reported to have

confirmed that there would be tour groups from China. This

is despite the checks on the way. Hence one is entitled to conclude that

at least in the eyes of the Chinese the Easter attacks were not of global

proportions. Idle governments can invoke terrorism activities. But the Sri Lankan

 government’s capacity is very local.

The government is the national parallel of parents. To the extent the

government is common to all diverse groups in its care - the government would

 have the intuitive power to pick up early warning signs. That is the value of

common parenting / governance. To the extent it does not have that capability

to be common, the government / parent  needs laws that promote Equal

Opportunity for every group/child to pursue its/her/his own special pathways.

 From that point onwards - the government / parent becomes a facility sans

any Administration. Each time the government Administers such a group/

person  and the group/person remains forbearing - the karma returns to sender. Showing more money fools the foreigner - even though by law s/he may be Sri Lankan.

Recently I said to a Colombo couple that they were wasting money by sending

their children to expensive private schools because their children are not able

to picture themselves as professionals. When asked, the elder child said that

she wanted to be a clerk in the bank - like her cousin.  Even though I was an

example she could have followed, there was no such connection because the

 parents borrowed money to pay school fees but failed to repay and failed to

 demonstrate respect for us as their seniors. Hence that mentoring network

was not there. Why should such family invest in higher education at a level

they cannot afford? The Easter bombers may not have owed money but they

owed opportunities in higher thinking roles that help each participant work out her/his own returns. If the parents are incapable of thinking beyond immediate money returns - then investments that the young ones make in studying and passing exams become lateral as per the company they keep - like the daughter copying her cousin in the above example.

In Sri Lanka, the Bandaranaikes and the Rajapaksas have facilitated the

vertical path of jobs for their own. Tamils and Muslims who give preference to

their own would not seem wrong to them as per their own truth. Using global

resources that ought to support Equal Opportunity values in diversity - earned

 them negative karma - whenever they formed government by claiming to be

democratic. Now the whole world knows that two minority groups are foreigners

 in areas where Sinhala-Buddhists are in majority. This then means that the

strengths of these members of minority will not naturally be shared by Sinhala-

Buddhists.

I said to a member of our staff in Vaddukoddai that even though she professed

 to be faithful to me and thanked me for the opportunity to work -

she failed to ensure that the temple gate was locked except for prayer time.

 I said if she were truly faithful - she would have replaced the lock out of her

own funds and reimbursed herself from our funds. I said she did not because

she did not want to get a bad name from the folks who socialize at the temple

which results in hooliganism by idle youth. I said that my sense of

independence and the resulting thought structure would be hers only when

she became independent of the lower biological pulls. I said that when that

happens - she would know intuitively that her job is safe. Her sense of

insecurity is due to her own divided loyalty.

Likewise - Tourism service providers who are dependent on local pulls would

be anxious. Not so those who have invested in global standards. The

common pathway develops common thinking and therefore intuition that

promotes prevention of tragedies.

MUSLIMS NOW ; TAMILS THEN

I took the coach from Colombo to Jaffna. The travel time was greater than travel by train but the seating as more comfortable than the train seating. Loading my baggage was also easier. It so happened that the tuk-tuk guy was a Muslim. He spoke all three languages. We were stopped on the way - around Puttalam-Kurunagela junction. Some bags were checked. Those who seemed Muslim were checked more rigorously than us. I felt for them but realised that as minorities we have to endure such difficulties to feel more strongly Sri Lankan. From the point of the Sinhalese soldier, common faith was lacking to know whether the Muslim passengers were likely to use destructive weapons in public areas. Hence I consciously urged in my mind, for the soldier to do his duty. The checks in Jaffna are now by civilian officers. I decided to make it easier for myself by carrying only a few items in my handbag. It is indeed very different to the Jaffna I was groomed by.

The cab driver in Sydney said in relation to the Easter attacks, as to why the Muslim leaders did not openly reject the guys who were showing signs of disorderliness. I said they did but that it was not enough. This morning when I received communication about Ms Ananthi Sasitharan leading a group that was lamenting about missing  persons. I have served their parallels within the Vaddukoddai community and hence it was not a new issue. But the ways in which  we deal with the issue are different. Ms Ananthi was blaming Tamil politicians. I helped the women to rely on their strengths after escalating  the matter to the highest level possible. I pooled my own resources towards this. I guess that the lesson learnt through my own maternal uncle who was tortured to death during World War II helped me not feel responsible as a member of the family. The decision was made by my uncle to earn money for my mother’s dowry. That was a noble cause which resulted in premature death. But if not for that decision, my uncle would have been just one of the others and not special. Being special,  he receives ongoing credit through marriages - my mother’s her children’s and grandchildren’s. The credit happens through the Universal system of truth which is not limited by time and place relativities. But we need to invest in that system.

If the purpose of those who joined the LTTE was noble - for the family, community or even to preserve one’s individual dignity - then they would be celebrated exponentially provided we have submitted our pain to the system of Truth and therefore Natural Justice. If they rely on politicians who have not invested in wider world but are often the instruments used by selfish persons - and waste their energies for lesser purposes - then they fail in their duty to their loved ones, through their own local system in which they have invested.

Ms Ananthy Sasitharan talks about Human Rights. As a group, militants who recruited forcibly deprived those recruited - of their basic human right to be with their families until they independently make up their minds.   UN or the Lankan Government cannot restore those rights that the militant leadership that Ms Sasitharan represents took away. One of the ladies said that her husband who was taken away was in the ‘movement’. He then has to pay off his debt to the members who were forcibly recruited znc their families. In our case, our uncle made up his mind as an independent person. Hence his family is clean of negative human rights karma and all of us enjoy the value of noble cause exponentially.

Human Rights are the rights that are based on truth that humans discovered. The investment that the discoverers of truth  made becomes the rights of their heirs, including by birth but not limited to birth. Since I was born to parents who chose to be governed by the common law of Sri Lanka and by the law of Thesawalamai - I have every right to live through that pathway and consciously reject any other pathway. In fact it is a natural duty to the extent my parents invested in that pathway. Children born to militants have the duty to carry on  along that pathway and face the consequences. But not so the children of civilians.

Therein lies the solution which would protect us from getting cheated again and again.

CARDINAL PELL & CARDINAL MALCOLM RANJITH

I am in Colombo and feel very much at home, despite the changes due to the Easter bombings. Now I identify with more strongly than before, that my personal investment in commonness protects me from the disorders of others. In the morning I listened with belief to Kanthasashti Kavasam – a prayer  that invokes protection by Lord Murugan. When I say Lord Murugan, it is the Common form of all those who invested in the Absolute through this philosophy that Murugan represents. The form is Murugan. The philosophy is Absolute.

I believe that having shared in the pain of victims of the war between Tamil militants and the government’s armed forces and having accepted the exceptional checks during the time my community was isolated – I had developed a certain degree of immunity to such checks. It so happened that I walked into a Muslim restaurant close to my Airbnb accommodation. I did not sense any unusual tension in that part of Colombo where it was business as usual. I invested in that area as a student living in a Catholic hostel. To the extent I received less benefits than my costs while living in this area this area has become my home area.

Buddhist monk Rathana Thera is reported to have been supported by Catholic Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith in dismissing Muslim political leaders. What an Achcharu! (pickle). When our ‘shows’ of particular culture in support of our own and/or  against a diverse/opposition culture exceed the limits set by our Belief – such shows confirm Radicalization. Where a Muslim is punished relatively more than Buddhist leaders for such radicalization it is Radicalisation that punishes the place where such excess happened. The two religious leaders colluding against Muslim leaders has happened in Kandy. This automatically places a curse on those governed by Kandyan  customary law.

Place / Land is the common factor in democratic politics. Buddhist monk Rathana Thera is a politician. If the fast was for political purposes as per his belief in politics – then the fast would have been in front of National Parliament in which the monk is a member. Radicalization promotes emotional extremism towards which those indulging in it isolate themselves – so there is no competition but sole-power as militants usually claim to have. The monk has demonstrated that he was feeling left out of the hottest issue in Sri Lanka and about Sri Lanka – Muslim radicalization. He was empowered by Catholic leader who also confirms ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Even Justice Wigneswaran confirmed being infected by it when he became politician. Not one of them loves Sri Lanka. All of them are attached to their current forms due to which they enjoy relatively more benefits than the common believer.

On my way to the airport in Sydney – the cab driver who claimed to be a Christian asked me about my religion and when I said I believed in rebirth he explained that Christians did not believe in rebirth. I then said – ‘Isn’t rebirth confirmed by Easter Sunday?’ He said he would get back to it later but did not. But he not only charged me within the minimum I expected but also brought me the trolley from its stand. That was commonness. I thus reduced the risk of radicalization of Sydney.

The Easter Sunday attacks directly affect largely Christians and Muslims. The commonness in them relative to Hinduism and Buddhism is that they do not demonstrate  belief in rebirth. One wonders whether that is why the attacks happened on Easter Sunday – when Christ was reborn by His own will. In Hinduism we say that there is no rebirth to the soul that has merged completely with Divine Universe. As the taxi guy tried to explain to me – Christians who have sinned stay in hell until ‘judgment day’.    To my mind, when we judge ourselves we are independent of judgment by others. THAT is when we resurrect ourselves by our own Will.

One needs to ask the question whether Cardinal Ranjith now believes in rebirth as preached by Buddhism? Can two religions with fundamentally different policies merge naturally as One? Or is this a clear act of abusing power for more political benefits?  Many of us Australians do not know whether Cardinal Pell is guilty of sexual abuse or is guilty of negligence of Administrative duty? With time – our uncorrected wrongs become common and then they are called sins. Had there been separation of powers between religion and secularism – Cardinal Pell may not have been put through this misery. Cardinal Ranjith seems to have not learnt from Australian Catholics. Did the two form a natural coalition against Buddhists & Hindus who by policy  believe in rebirth?

Citizen’s Prevention of Terrorism

When I learnt about the passing away of the husband of the daughter of family friends of ours, my heart went out to the parents and the daughter. It was natural. We were not bound by biological connections and yet the feeling was there. To my mind, that is how true relationships are formed through Commonness – often common need. This paved the way for us to serve that extended family and also be respected and honoured by those we served genuinely. When we connect to others as if they are a part of us – we recognize that we are children of god, even though we may not be conscious of it.  Then when we serve each other we serve humanity. Until we reach that stage – if we kill in the name of Jihad – that is to ‘show’ and we get punished one way or the other. If the victim trusted us - the return karma becomes exponential. Often such false Jihadists / soldiers turn against their own elders. This is true not only of the Muslim and Tamil communities but also the Sinhala Buddhist community of Sri Lanka. They operate against humanity and become animals.

Yesterday we heard on the news about early detection of Alzheimer’s through an eye test. I said to the family that in my case I believe I prevent Alzheimer’s by keeping my brain in active order. Living in Truth I believe would prevent Alzheimer’s  or at least minimise its effects. The Truth that is dormant needs to be brought upwards to the third eye spot – which discriminates the matter into right side and wrong side. Truth being universally common would show us who is right and who is wrong for us. This may be the other way around to someone else. In that case we are travelling in different paths.  

On that basis – we may have early detection of recognition of wrongs  within our community but to some other community they may be rights. That which is wrong for Tamil Politicians may have been right for militants influenced by Indian handouts. Likewise that which was wrong to the Muslim community of Sri Lanka would have seemed right to ISIS. Likewise, that which was wrong to the Tamil community of Sri Lanka would have seemed to other countries like China and Even the USA government with excessive war power.

If  development of commonness ceases – we need to not get closer than we are to each other.  If we find that we are not able to discipline those we consider to be our juniors – we need to move away from them so they do not earn our curse.

BBC’s article headed ‘The man who might have stopped Sri Lanka's Easter bombings’ – at  https://www.bbc.com/news/stories-48435902 leads us into the mind of a Muslim family that did not have the power to discipline the would be bombers:

[Months before the bombings, Taslim, an earnest 37-year-old local politician from a Muslim-majority town in central Sri Lanka, had been at the forefront of efforts to investigate the extremists.

Taslim's story encapsulates both how the country's Muslim community actively tried to stop the emergence of radical elements in their midst, and how the authorities failed to recognise repeated warning signs ahead of the Easter attacks.

The town of Mawanella is just a few hours' drive east of the capital, Colombo. It's surrounded by a lush green landscape, and the area is dominated by Buddhist and Muslim communities.]

Mawanella is close to Kandy – the Capital of  upper class Sinhalese – known as Kandyan Sinhalese who as per my knowledge were ruling class. I know that within my family ‘traditional seniors’ have difficulty treating me as equal even after I take more responsibility than they in family issues. They do not get the early warnings of ‘outsiders’ whom they treat as equals or worse as seniors in our family. Like Taslim mentioned above – I also reported on the basis of racial discrimination at the University of NSW  - an institution that had a high proportion of migrant community which included Muslims from other countries and Muslims who were still living of the culture of their countries of origin, more than Australian Muslims. The government headed by Mr John Howard – effectively punished me for the government’s  failure to follow Equal Employment Opportunity principles and policies. When I could go no more and separated myself – the karma returned with interest at the government’s level – first as Terrorism attacks and – eventually to dismiss Mr Howard. THAT is true ownership power that a good proportion of migrants contributed to. Through my truth I identify with that reasoning at policy level.  Like in the case of the above family who were not blood relatives, I was not a blood relative of non-migrant Australians. Yet I received the early warning – due to my feelings of ownership by including even my seniors who showed more than they really were in their positions. Hence I resigned albeit out of pain but Mr Howard was dismissed by the People because he separated himself from migrants and became deaf to their intelligence sharing. When we are true to each other  the land that we live on becomes ‘common’ and in turn makes our families and communities ‘common’. It starts with the individual.

Muslim leaders and Sinhalese to whom Kandy and surroundings are ‘home’ would have shared ruling power. But not Batticaloa Muslim and Kandy Muslim. Batticaloa ownership is shared largely between Muslims and Tamils. By attacking Batticaloa church, the attackers  confirmed that they were not Muslims of Sri Lanka but had weakened their brains so much that they would become obedient servants of foreigners who ‘looked’ Muslims and used the name of Islam for lower purposes.

Many of them had education in ‘Christian-looking’ institutions and nations. LTTE leader from North also changed his religious looks – to be seen as Christian and named his son Charles Anthony. Hence he did not hear intuitively my plea to surrender to Lord Muruga of Nallur. Those who ‘show’ more than they have – separate and eventually isolate themselves. Once they do so – it is easy to defeat them. Likewise the Easter Bomber did not hear the Mawanella leader’s voice and now the whole Sri Lankan Muslim community is suffering. The BBC report shows the order in which the truth unfolded and how deaf and therefore disorderly the custodians of power were:

In March, just over a month before the Easter attacks, a gunman quietly entered Taslim's house in the early hours of the morning. He was lying in bed, next to his wife, and his youngest son. The gunman shot him once in the head.

"At first I thought the phone charger had exploded, but I looked and it was fine," Taslim's wife told me. "Then I tried to wake him up, and I could smell gunpowder… I reached out to him and I realised he wasn't conscious. I thought he was dead."

Taslim was rushed to hospital. He survived the attack, but it's not clear if he will ever fully recover.

Sri Lanka's army commander, Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake, is now playing a leading role in the investigation into the Easter Bombings. He told me it had been confirmed that the "same network" was also responsible for the desecration of the Buddhist statues, the explosives hidden in the coconut grove, and the shooting of Taslim.

He admitted that the previous incidents should have made the authorities more alert to the dangers of a jihadist attack. Instead, warnings by the Indian security services in the days and hours leading up the bombings weren't followed up, due to what the army commander referred to as problems with "intelligence sharing" between different departments.]

‘Intelligence sharing’ has been highlighted as a key issue in the Easter bombing. One who ‘includes’ the other as part of her/himself has ‘intelligence’ that the other has – even when it is not expressly communicated. That is the value of family/institution/nation. Where one is not able to do so naturally – one needs to consciously follow the common pathway so that one gets the opportunity to access the other’s intelligence more quickly than if they were separate pathways of outsiders. Reliable and healthy immigration relies strongly on such common travel.

The Easter Bombings have confirmed that internal migration in Sri Lanka is unhealthy due to lack of natural intelligence sharing. At citizens’ level – majority Sri Lankans do not have conflict with members of other ethnicities any more than they have within their family and community. But all attackers target Colombo government because they consider themselves the equals of the Colombo government which often shows more status than it has. In Democracy no  government can have more status than the common citizen. From the point they are equal – the government has the duty to treat the citizen as Equal. A government that keeps elevating itself above the common citizen’s level invites ‘outsiders’ who have excess capacity in weapon based war.

The Rajapaksa government did that in terms of Tamil militants and spread it to community which had the effect of depressing them. To the extent they had excess capacity – they turned against Sinhalese. The Easter bombings confirm that the Tamils were not beaten but that the risk to Sri Lanka as a whole of foreign invasion was far greater due to the exodus and the dirty linen washing at international level. We citizens need to seek and find our commonness. Now after the Easter bombings, Tamil militants and Muslim militants – have commonness and this would get stronger if Muslims are blamed but the officials are not disciplined. Then we can expect more and more ISIS attacks. The way to prevent it is for citizens to not leave it to the lame duck government but to find common ways to share in everyday life – starting with family – especially family by law. To the extent we are communities through religion – we are Sri Lankans by law until we feel each other’s pain as ours. That is the real cure for which we do not ‘need’ handouts from government.  In fact even if the government ‘hands-out’ we need to earn it our way.  A soldier who does not work for his remuneration depresses the government’s Defence intelligence. Likewise the militant. THAT is the root cause of the terrorism in Sri Lanka.

Cargills and Jetwing are Jewels in the Education Crown of Jaffna

Yesterday I wrote as follows to Mr Jerome Auvity - Director Operations - Jetwing Hotels Ltd.:

[The message I share with my global community is that next to the Public Library – Cargills and Jetwing are jewels in the crown of Jaffna. They are more educational and training  institutions than trading institutions. This is why you responded. Thank you]

I believe this to be the case due to my inner wisdom about Northern Tamils. One who marks oneself right and the other wrong ceases in the travel towards truth at that level. One who keeps going without marking rights and wrongs – discovers the connection between Cause and Effect. Such a mind accepts right and wrong on Equal footing – and hence travels steadily until the end. The end would be as per the core purpose of the travel. If this is oneness of mind – then rights and wrongs on the way do not matter. I believe that my book ‘Naan Australian’ got carried to Australian and American libraries – without my knowledge – due to this true Energy. They seek and therefore they found. All of us have such experiences within our families and our  workplaces. But one needs the power of forbearance to keep going when one is found fault with by the person in authority. Simple Meditation on my own Truth helped me develop this forbearance.

Weaker job opportunities for Tamils in Colombo became a reality after 1983 attacks in Colombo and other multicultural areas. So long as Colombo remains multicultural it would contribute strongly to commonness in Sri Lanka. Australia’s Haisem Zahab who has been charged with allegations of Terrorism confirmed the connection between isolation-cleverness development and risk of disorderly deaths including in one’s own community. The judge hearing the case revealed insight into the character of such isolated folks through the word hermit. Many of the acts of cleverness demonstrated by Haisem Zahab apply also to the Jaffna Tamils who manufactured their own improvises during the time of restrictions. Indiscriminate application of the law to punish without consciousness of the negligence of the responsible authorities to ‘include’ would invoke the punishment against that very authority – provided the victim submitted to Truth discovered by her / him. I have seen this happen more and more at the Australian workplace and the reward was that placement of my book in the libraries. In the case of Jaffna University library one of my clients placed it there as a gesture of gratitude. Completed experiences empower the institution and the place where the completion happens. Laws that are largely for the purpose of common order do not have this kind of universal power. If Haisem Zahab is overly punished we may never discover the reasons why victims of unjust discrimination join their own groups beyond their home nation. Tamil militants found Tamil Nadu; White Australians found White Americans; Sri Lankan Buddhist governments found China and Muslims found Middle East. It’s a kind of comfort one needs when separated from mainstream. Even if one member of the community is punished by irrelevant laws – and that person in turn rejects that injustice – the system of Natural Justice has the duty to manifest the other side. When we go beyond the human system of law and order such Energy is of positive value to the person and the home-group of that person. Gandhi is an outstanding example of this positive Energy. On the other side we have those who neglect their duties as per the laws they use to find fault with in juniors by position. Once we abandon those laws they become negative Energy which would invoke itself to damage those very persons who took benefits and their home communities. Positive Energy needs the Negative Energy to manifest an outcome at the visible level. Once out of our control – they work on their own – like ‘acts of god’.

Excessively punishing the Muslims at a time when the President has exonerated Buddhist monk Gnanasara Thera has the potential to isolate Sri Lankan Buddhists as a disenfranchised community below the confidence of levels of nationalists who form associations with others outside Sri Lanka. What happens today to non-Buddhists would happen to Junior Buddhists tomorrow – when there are less and less non-Buddhists left to rule over. If Buddha said to release – then the President must consider the Muslims arrested also as Buddhists and pardon them. That is when there Lord Buddha will take the throne of  Sri Lanka.
