Why Sri Lanka Needs Ethnic Opposition

We witnessed, President Maithripala Sirisena in action prior to the Presidential elections consulting with Former President Madam Kumaratunga. Now both confirm through their inner intelligence - the dangers to their lives from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. I have just completed an assignment in relation to assisting  a Manager in Australian Public Service to work out the pathway of Natural Justice – towards healthier human relationships. Every position accumulates positive or negative energy as per the occupant/s in that position. In 2005, when I met with Madam Kumaratunga in that position – to obtain approval for Tsunami Reconstruction work - the meeting happened through Natural Forces. I believe so because I submitted my work to the Lord after I worked out that the local authorities themselves did not know what to do after a certain point. I was included in the Hindu Religious Leaders’ group scheduled to meet the President.

Even as I entered the President’s Office I admired and appreciated that Madam Kumaratunga was in that position despite being member of minority gender at that level. This gave me the true inner connection not only to Madam Kumaratunga as a person but also to the position of President. I believe that I was able to ‘appreciate’ because  of my own achievements as a minority – in terms of gender as well as ethnicity. In contrast despite making greater contribution to war recovery efforts – I did not meet with Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa during the time he was President. I did think well of  Mr. Rajapaksa in certain respects – especially when he made the effort to speak in Tamil and also when he prayed at Nallur Murugan Temple. Yet, the meeting did not happen. I concluded that the Lord’s blessings happened at the lower level in that structure at that time.

To my mind, true Service can only be provided when  we are Natural in our mind. Tsunami was a Natural disaster and hence there was no difficulty taking a Natural approach. The ethnic war was not and hence when I was physically approaching Madam Kumaratunga who lost sight in one eye – due to LTTE actions – I said ‘sorry’ to her as a person and walked slowly towards her so she would not get alarmed. This meant that I felt the pain as if it had happened to me but since it did not physically happen to me – I reduced my status by saying ‘sorry’. We were then One along the same vertical plane. The approval happened and the Tsunami victims got their new homes. It may have happened due to many reasons unknown to me. But to the extent of my work – I was able to identify with the return and complete the cycle.

Madam Kumaratunga and President Sirisena are now sharing with us the risks they faced due to armed power controlled by the Rajapaksa family. As per the recent revelations, I work out that Madam Kumaratunga who took her allocated place during Mr. Rajapaksa’s rule – demonstrated respect for the position and continued to produce outcomes as if she was still the President. One should therefore take the current President and Madam Kumaratunga  together when picturing the President. That is the value of Governor’s position.

Excessive Administration and control leads us away from developing Governors. Everyone who believes s/he is Sri Lankan is a Governor of Sri Lanka. We need to bow our heads to those before us and the positions above us to identify with the Truth. Towards this one needs to be humble. Hence the low doorways to homes in some parts of Sri Lanka. Those who enter Parliament need to therefore bow their heads to Parliament – and law making – to know the inner powers that work Parliament. Such true  powers would raise our enjoyment to Eternal level. That which is enjoyed largely at physical level dies with the body. Those who are driven by majority vote – as some seem to be – are not bowing their heads to Parliament and therefore the order of Law. They are confirming that they have come to Parliament for the money and popularity – as is the case with animal kingdom. The excess that gives us majority power to form government  needs to be sacrificed into the Common Administrative pool for a politician to become an Administrator. Those who fail to do so – would never be satisfied however much they may have in hand. Once human majority is exhausted, they would seek armed power to subdue the other and retain control.

Sri Lankans of all ethnicities have contributed to the current Government structure where Tamils are Opposition Leaders in Parliament. All Governors of Sri Lanka would have influenced this Natural outcome. Tamils in turn – need to raise their mind-order to the higher level to fill the numbers ‘gap’. The best issue through which we could do this at this point in time – is the investigations into war-crimes. As per most current news:

Mr. Senathirajah is part of the National Political Leadership of TNA and we need to bow our heads when using the TNA’s Political pathway to pursue outcomes. Individuals without political portfolio are  ofcourse entitled to speak their own mind freely anytime – anywhere. Mr. Wigneswaran may tend to forget from time to time that he is no longer part of the alternate Government (Judiciary) at National level. If, like Madam Kumaratunga, Mr. Wigneswaran had not taken up any political position – he would also be a Governor through that alternate route of the Judiciary. When one holds official position – one needs to operate within its boundaries and not go back to past. The two cannot be indiscriminately mixed.

Pleasure and Pain at the physical level have their ‘use-by’ dates. If Pleasures are accelerated they burn us out and the body/structure suffers in later years. The mind that is used to excessive enjoyment suffers due to withdrawal / inability to enjoy at the increased level. Hence the damage due to pleasure drugs and other intoxicants. Those who ‘save’ pleasures during current times – develop natural reservoirs in their mind. When the savings are raised to the Common level – they become formless Energy and hence Eternal Happiness/ Bliss – known as Peraanantham in Tamil. At that integrated / consolidated level the value is exponential.

Likewise, pain when not returned to the one who apparently  caused it,  but is endured,  gets raised to the higher level to develop into Peace – as if we caused the pain to ourselves by failing to use our Sovereign powers. Towards this we need to not take revenge, because revenge plunges us into the world of relativity which when extended separates us. We are entitled to react at the current time in that environment on the basis of our belief based emotions. But to carry it beyond that current environment carries the risk of harming others who were not part of the cause and/or developing excess karma which would return to us at a later time. The latter happens when we fail to find fault with ourselves/our side but find fault only with the ‘other’ side. By taking part in Parliamentary elections, Tamils have confirmed that they seek to be part of the solution. This confirms recognition that we were also part of the problem.

We need to recognize that opinions at the International level strongly influence opinions of investors outside Sri Lanka in addition to Sri Lankans who have invested outside Sri Lanka. Other resident Sri Lankans tend to be influenced by how their elected leaders interpret international actions and opinions, in addition to being influenced by their relatives and friends outside Sri Lanka. The latter does not have direct political clout in Sri Lanka. Only the global minded would directly use these in their own lives. Towards this they need to raise it to the higher level and not keep it at the political level. Foreign Governments as well as Diaspora groups that use Political order would tend to abuse the International status for selfish purposes.

External assessments would need to be raised to the Common level towards wider usage. Sri Lankans seeking international solutions, need to become Observers in relation to outcomes within Sri Lanka. If one traded at the level at which the outcomes were produced – it becomes infringement of the sovereignty of both groups. This is the reason why we have Separation of Powers between the Executive Government and the Judiciary. The Judiciary is the alternate government. Likewise the UN in relation to war-crimes. If one has not produced evidence to the UN by now – and yet one has suffered and continues to suffer – one needs to submit the problem to the Lord. This was effectively the message from our own Australian Government through the Hon Philip Ruddock at a Community meeting in Homebush.

Every person who provides Service to heal war-victims – is a messenger of God. All their good work must be built into the new structures if we are to experience Peace. One who does so – would recognize that the TNA leadership ‘happened’ due to such forces including from the Sinhalese side led by the likes of Madam Kumaratunga in Politics. Majority  providing such service are non-political.  It’s time to say ‘thank you’ to all of them whose lives were / are at risk when moving along that pathway.

We also lost close family to both sides. We have done our best to make amends to those who depended on their positions and continue to support those families and communities. In the process we raise the need to the highest possible common level – and then provide the service. That is how new governance structures have come about to prevent ourselves from pain and loss due to premature war. It’s a duty we owe our own young ones – whatever our ethnicity may be. Otherwise we would live and die without heritage through which the next generation and wider world would pass their current work to royal level in their own respective environments. A woman seeking to be Equal could be an attractive opposition completing the ‘other’ side through her Diversity or a woman could be man competing with man. Former Creates and the latter divides, separates and shrinks. Likewise Minorities with Higher Mind Order. Sinhalese driven by majority status would tend to treat Tamils as competitors at best. Sinhalese of higher mind-order would be attracted to Tamil leadership and would be Creative – for they would recognize and value  the Diversity. Likewise Tamils who seek to be competitive would tend to separate and create their own territories as ISIS is doing. It’s up to us Tamil Governors to work through true leaders to maintain our earned position of Opposition Leadership to create and develop higher minds. We have come this far. Just a little more to go.

To me this is what democracy is about. When, through my book published by Lakehouse,  I declared ‘Naan Australian’ (I am Australian) – it was a declaration of my own discovery about myself. Mr. Sampanthan said it before the elections in terms of TNA – when the two main parties formed government. Mr. Sampanthan is reconfirming it at national Leadership level with the support of the system of Democracy through which Sri Lankan voters expressed their Sovereignty. Tamil voters have overwhelmingly confirmed that they want ONE SRI LANKA. Every person who has invested in Democracy would celebrate this declaration.  Our family does on this father’s day.

To me it is like me Gajalakshmi carrying the Male Family name Paramasivam as per Tradition – declaring that I am Paramasivam Family and that the Paramasivam Family belongs to me. This is natural when we belong truly to every part of the family through our respective positions – for example me as Mother – and / or through our Truth. This does not prevent my husband also claiming that he is Paramasivam family. But merely by virtue of  him carrying the name physically – he does not have higher status than I except when he does so on merit basis. Such Merit basis would include that he is more available to the family than I directly and/or through Common Structures, Policies and Values maintained and developed  through personal sacrifice of immediate pleasures. Even if I did not make the declaration – to the extent I do not get my proportion of the visible status and or money benefits – I accumulate the ‘gap’ as  ownership Energy. A family which gives recognition to this Energy develops into Heritage family. Likewise a Community and a Nation. Like being a female in a family – I am here in Australia with minority status. Hence I needed to make the declaration so other minorities would not lose heart when they feel discriminated against. THAT,  I believe,  is the best contribution we could make to the roots of Australia – which would naturally prevent Terrorism in Australia that includes us. Higher positions help us get their faster in a reliable system.

Mr. Sampanthan is supported by his own Political Heritage developed since 1977  when he first entered Parliament as part of the Opposition Leadership Team. The Ownership declaration is a natural expression for someone who has mentally held that position – with or without it being a reality at the visible level.

I have thought about the position of the Leader of the Opposition in the context of SL politics and have come to the following conclusion:

1.       The Leader of the Opposition is recognised to be the alternate Prime Minister, if the government of the day fails to deliver its promises.

2.       In my view, there is absolutely no chance that a non-Sinhala person will be the Prime Minister of SL in the foreseeable future.

3.       It was an error of judgement for Amirthalingam to have accepted the position of Leader of the Opposition in 1977. It further humiliated the defeated SLFP who were wiped out at the 1977 general election and gave an excuse for the extremists to proclaim that the Opposition Tamils were always opposing the legitimate will of the Sinhala government – in other words, they were able to shout out slogans that it was a fight between the Sinhalese and the Tamils which they successfully brought to melting point in July 1983.

4.       History will finally record as to who was responsible for the non-development and ruin of Sri Lanka since our Independence in 1948. But for the present, I would argue that the Leader of the Opposition should be the prospective alternate Prime Minister, who would be the leader of the largest Sinhala Party in the Opposition.

I prefer not to enter into a dialogue on this, somewhat, sensitive matter and leave it to the recipients to ponder over my thoughts.

The underlying ‘attitudes’ are important in interpreting and working out the Strengths and Weaknesses in the group that the responder is a part of.  The last sentence that the writer – a male as per his name - would prefer not to enter into a dialogue AFTER he had had his say on the basis of MY article  confirms a – one way track – that Subjective Pathway is. One way track is ok – so long as they do not drive along the pathways meant for two-way Traffic- flows. Democracy is a two-way flow.

There are many such operators especially males in the senior age group who need the official leadership position to be active contributors. As a person with deep investment in Democracy I respond publicly as follows – so anyone who identifies with the above response fully or in part – would have some alternate / opposition to forming the true combined/ democratic picture. Taking the above person as the Government and myself as the Opposition I complete the Democratic picture as follows:

1.      Government: The Leader of the Opposition is recognised to be the alternate Prime Minister, if the government of the day fails to deliver its promises

Opposition (Gaja): The Leader of the Opposition is the other side Captain. S/he cannot Captain the Government Team. This is why SLFP could not have been Leading the Opposition. You can be Parent all the time but when you are mother you cannot be father. Through the President and Prime Minister – the two main parties have become Common – as in Parent, instead of father. Given that second largest party  joined Government first – they cannot be called Opposition. In fact, the way it has happened – Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa technically is on the side of the Government in Parliament – but not as an Equal. Had he been on the Opposition side by applying the rules – he would have been Equal to any member of the Government. As we sow, so shall we reap. Dharma has prevailed to right the wrongs that happened during the 2010 Presidential elections.

2.       Government: In my view, there is absolutely no chance that a non-Sinhala person will be the Prime Minister of SL in the foreseeable future.

Opposition (Gaja): Americans have already shown the way through their practice of Democracy. Their Structure / Constitution facilitated this. If the Truth that has evolved is built into the new Constitution – then a Tamil from Hatton  or a Muslim from Kalmunai or a Burgher from Colombo could become the Prime Minister.  Those who live in the past would have difficulty projecting such a picture in their mind’s eye.

Opposition (Gaja): From the Tamils point of view – 1977 Opposition Leadership was the first Political Declaration of our Diversity. It has given strength to many to realize independence within their own circles and now at National level through Mr. Sampanthan who has continued to carry those values as heritage.  Our Truth is the root cause. Like the Root –Truth is often not ‘seen’ but known. Truth is always healthy to the mind – so long as we stay within that Truth or find the Truth as part of a new environment. Vaddukoddai Resolution led by Mr. Amirthalingam is of former type and 2015 Colombo Declaration by Mr. Sampanthan is of the latter type. Tamil community needs both but Public Expressions need to be through the Latter and not through the former. Truth is the Truth. There are no rights and wrongs in Truth. Relativity happens only when we come out of that Truth and start using external values. Hence when Truth is surfaced – it would divide Itself into perfectly Equal parts. The simple mind would be more comfortable with two equal parts than with many equal parts – to practice equality at the physical level. Hence the need for Equal Opposition to give form to Truth. It is not about saying ‘no’ when the government says ‘yes’. It is about showing the effects of Government Policy on the People. Government usually would not see the impacts of its Policies. Hence Opposition needs to receive them on behalf of the People and show that picture – independent of the Government. Likewise when Opposition proposes – the Government must receive the effects mentally and present its side of the picture. This picture may or may not confirm the Other side’s picture. But if both are genuine – the two would merge to form the whole needed by the Nation.

We receive information through our five senses. It’s the brain that makes them common memory. When this consolidation happens we have a common theory and we do not see the individual data. If we do – then it means we have not yet consolidated the individual components. Discriminative thinking makes man higher than animal. One who fails to consolidate/integrate  and therefore discriminate - would be driven by the body / politics – and dies when the body dies.  One who consolidates lives beyond the body. That is the calculus of human mind.

Opposition (Gaja): We already know that this would lead to Army Government. One who promotes such groups and/or excessively criticizes the Opposition for using Arms while her/his side is guilty – would habitually promote low level autocracy.

I believe that as an Australian believing I am Australian – every bit of my investment in Democracy would go towards eliminating armed control – be it through  rebels/terrorists or through government forces. One using weapons without Common principles and/or Higher Subjective Leadership - using Higher mind-order than the other side – is a Terrorist. One who uses weapons believing s/he is protecting Dharma / Sovereignty – is a hero.

Lord Krishna led the minority of 5 against majority of 100 to victory. War did happen as a last resort – after all other avenues including Dialogue and Reconciliation were exhausted. Those who use weapons, language, gender, physical disability, caste, color of skin – etc. as first weapon to elevate themselves and demote the other – would tend to be violent when they use arms. Gandhi was non-violent because he was true to himself.  One who is true to himself would identify with even the remotest person as part of her/himself. Such a person could never be a terrorist. The earth that such a person walks on would get purified. Even one such person would steer Sri Lanka to truly realize Independence. Pakistan was ruled by the Army due to separation from Gandhi’s Mind-Order. Let’s learn from Pakistan and not separate in either direction.

Needed - Good Sri Lankans to Lead Clever Sri Lankans

It happened in 1977 and it has happened again in 2015. Tamil equality has been confirmed yet again at National level in Sri Lanka – on the basis of Truth manifested through Democratic process.   If one is to preserve the value of this outcome, one needs to work out the component of each Force that went into this manifestation and identify the rest as the Force of Truth. That is the way of  the higher mind. The Parliamentary Election outcomes of 2015 have confirmed that mere numbers would not entitle one to Leadership. Truth worked through the desires of politicians with lower mind-order, to clear the pathway for the Higher Tamil Mind to be the Equal Leader in Parliament. In turn the former President is now an ordinary Member of  Parliament representing only one electorate. That structure is the Beauty of Truth and will be enjoyed by the true Sri Lankan.

In the Channel News Asia report entitled ‘First Tamil in 32 years to lead Sri Lanka opposition’ it is stated:

[A Tamil lawmaker became leader of the opposition in Sri Lanka's parliament for the first time in 32 years on Thursday (Sep 3), in the latest sign of progress towards ethnic reconciliation on the once bitterly divided island.

Rajavarothiam Sampanthan is the first lawmaker from the ethnic minority to lead the opposition since 1983, when Tamil legislators resigned en masse to protest against a statute that compelled them to denounce separatism.

The 82-year-old moderate heads the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), which emerged from last month's election as the third-largest force with 16 seats in the 225-member assembly.

"We shall be loyal to this country and the people of this country," Sampanthan told the House on Thursday. "Our primary duty is to ensure that there is an acceptable resolution to the Tamil question."]

A Sri Lankan of Sinhalese origin wrote to us about Mr. Sampanthan’s speech:

‘One of the very meaningful speeches I have heard from Sri Lanka Parliament after a long time is the one from the Leader of the Opposition, yesterday (3 September 2015).

In his speech he has emphasized for all to work through together.  I presume he means working together would be to keep a “United Sri Lanka”.  Hearing this from the opposition leader, I believe it’s coming from his heart.

To the extent I have invested in the position of  Leader of Opposition in Parliament – I believe that this is true of  the Common Tamil Community. I needed to become Tamil living in Sri Lanka to appreciate this. We need to also, to the best of our ability, work out the forces that caused these outcomes and structure our pathway accordingly. Be it Love in Family or Truth in Governance – only a proportion of  our thoughts are based on Love/Truth. Those would go straight to the root of the family/institution. Unless the rest is based on workable Structure – we are likely go back to war-times and turn Sri Lanka into a jungle.

Whether it be Sinhalese JVP or Tamil LTTE – rebellions against the Government were largely emotional – at the lower mind-order. Where emotions are based on belief – they are productive and they would produce their other side. When taken beyond our belief – they dawn-grade the whole.  This leads to brawn-power of the animal kingdom. Hence the use to ‘Jungle laws’ to describe the Sri Lankan situation. Some of us BELIEVED and hence the Divine outcome of TNA leadership.  Lord Muruga is described by Yoga Swami of Sri Lanka – as the God who redeemed the Thevar (Higher Beings) from the prison of Asurar (lower - animal - beings) . Those who truly submit to Lord Muruga would therefore redeem the Higher mind from the prison of the lower mind. The higher mind is the entrance to Eternity/Heaven / Truth / Love.

When we sacrifice our earned benefits we raise our mind to structural level. It’s like savings for the future. When the structures are raised further – they are Eternal source of Energy – which comes with us beyond time and place boundaries and invokes the  resources needed whenever we need them. Such Energy would be beyond the comprehension of the logical mind. In some cultures - Halos depict such Spiritual Energy.

The outcomes in the 2015 Sri Lankan Parliamentary Elections do not seem ‘right’ as per majority rule. One such reader is Mr. Wimal Weerawansa who is reported to have  said :

[that the UPFA had never agreed to make Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan the opposition leader.

He accused the President of working under a contract to make Sampanthan the opposition leader as the TNA had backed Sirisena at the January Presidential election]

Mr. Weerawansa’s entry into Politics was through the Sinhalese armed rebel group JVP. One would not expect Mr. Weerawansa to develop the higher mind when he reveals his-mind order in this way. One could work out that according to Mr. Weerawansa and therefore the party on whose behalf he so expresses – Sinhalese UPFA was the legitimate winner of the position of the Leader of the Opposition but it was handed over to Tamil TNA by the President.

The logic of it is that UPFA desired the lower material benefits from Parliamentary living – and those who crossed over to UNP denied the UPFA of its higher benefit of Equal status to the Government – endowed by Democratic law. This Equal footing is essential for the system of Democracy to work effectively. But those who use the ‘majority’ vote rule at the primary level and then discard the system of Democracy - would not develop higher mind order. This is the reason why SLFP – the main party in the UPFA – lost even second position in the 1977 Parliamentary elections. This time in 2015 due to claim of  defeat of Tamil rebels – they still had enough votes to come second in Parliamentary elections – but their own desires divided them internally causing ‘separation’. The ‘F’ in the name stands for Freedom. Freedom at physical level  is NOT independence. Often those without physical Freedom become Independent to lead those who have at the physical Freedom. Examples are – Gandhi and Mandela. I did not resist arrest for Peaceful Assembly and realized that I was becoming independent of the Government that promised Freedom without Independence. Such leadership separates including through money and armed power.

In 1983 – Tamil Parliamentarians under the leadership of the Hon Appapillai Amirthalingam resigned from their Parliamentary positions – demonstrating their commitment to preserving the Dignity of Tamils as a Community in its own rights. This resignation was brought about due to the 6^th Amendment to the Constitution – through Article 157A which states inter alia:

Prohibition against violation of territorial integrity of Sri Lanka.

157A. (1) No person shall, directly or indirectly, in or outside Sri Lanka, support, espouse, promote, finance, encourage or advocate the establishment of a separate State within the territory of Sri Lanka.

(2) No political party or other association or organization shall have as one of its aims or objects the establishment of a separate State within the territory of Sri Lanka.

(3) Any person who acts in contravention of the provisions of paragraph (1) shall, on conviction by the Court of Appeal, after trial on indictment and according to such procedure as may be prescribed by law, -

(a)  be subject to civic disability for such period not exceeding seven years as may be determined by such Court ;

(b)  forfeit his movable and immovable property other than such property as is determined by an order of such Court as being necessary for the sustenance of such person and his family ;

(c)  not be entitled to civic rights for such period not exceeding seven years as may be determined by such Court ; and

(d)  if he is a Member of Parliament or a person in such service or holding such office as is referred to in paragraph (1) of Article 165, cease to be such Member or to be in such service or to hold such office.

That resignation in 1983 was a ‘loss’ of earned position to Tamil Political Leadership. But in 2008, the SLFP included Karuna – the Eastern leader of the LTTE as Vice President of the SLFP – the main party in the UPFA.  The former President thus made a mockery of the above article in the Constitution and chose armed association in preference to Political partnership. The Constitution could be overridden only through Belief of a person. It would be by Divine Powers. If indeed Mr. Rajapaksa believed that that was the right pathway – then he believed that Sri Lanka needed the protection of Armed forces. Pakistan became the victims of such downward pull by separating from Democratic India.

Few days prior to receiving an email regarding President Sirisena’s speech in Sri Lankan Parliament,  I read in the news ‘The Australian Naval Ship HMAS Melbourne arrived at the port of Colombo, Sri Lanka, on August 29, 2015’  and wondered about the timing. I wrote about this to a Sinhalese group headed by former Army personnel:

[When I read that ‘The Australian Naval Ship HMAS Melbourne arrived at the port of Colombo, Sri Lanka, on August 29, 2015’ I was wondering whether the Government was expecting problems when the Parliament sat on 01 September.  This became stronger when I read the news of India’s gift of Coast Ship. The article below confirms that there was anxiety in the mind of the President that influenced the arrival of these ships at this time. As young Aisha Chaudhary states everything happens twice – once in the mind and once in reality. We need to learn to read between the lines and add our true energies towards preserving our Sovereignty.]

I was alerted to this reality on 03 September when in response to the email regarding young Aisha Chaudhry (included in my article ‘Dialogue is Finished Business Mr. Blair!’) I received a response that included the speech ‘of the Sri Lankan President under the subject matter ‘Sirisena does a U-turn, says it is the responsibility of the parliament to either abolish or retain the Executive Presidency’. The article was published by Colombo Telegraph.

As per that article President Sirisena ‘went on to suggest that the international community instead of taking up arms against Sri lanka was now taking a more positive approach while supporting its reconciliation and development efforts.’

As per my higher mind-order – I concluded that the President was working against an armed take over. Rightly so – considering the likes of Mr. Weerawansa who kept claiming that SLFP was the legitimate Leader of the Opposition. Majority rule is the bridge between Jungle rule (which armed power without commitment to Common principles is) and Democratic Administration on Equal footing. Like the tossing of an unbiased  coin at the beginning of a cricket match it is merely to decide which side becomes government and which side becomes Equal Opposition. Where Government introduces a law/policy, the Opposition is the People’s voice in Parliament – showing the effects of those laws and policies on the citizens not present in parliament. Where the Opposition proposes – the Government becomes the People in Parliament. Hence the same Party cannot be on both sides. But those who came into Politics through armed power – would have difficulty appreciating this need for Equal footing in Democratic Administration and its higher value. Under the hierarchical system – the unseen value was due to ‘time’.  When the likes of Mr. Weerawansa  are ‘given’ political positions – by the government,  followed by voters – they would tend to go down to the jungle rule. This is fine so long as they do not claim benefits by  USING Democracy.

Yesterday, as if to confirm that these were real concerns I received from a Sri Lankan Diaspora Leader of Tamil origin, an email under the subject matter ‘Sri Lanka: Legacy of the 1962 coup and thereafter’ - with the comments ‘Equally relevant even today’.

It is relevant because of  rebels who went outside their circle of belief to cheapen the Parliament.  They have to first earn their Political positions to represent the whole of their respective electorates. This is needed by Tamil rebels also if  we are not to submit to Armed Control of any form, applied without common principles and laws.

People who used JVP and LTTE beyond the true entitlements of JVP and  LTTE – would keep invoking armed power. Their minds go down that lower order of thinking. Now that Sri Lanka is exposed to foreign powers – there is the real risk that Sri Lanka would become the victim of international war – because of our failure to raise our mind-order to the Administrative level.  As India’s spiritual leader Swami Sai Baba says – Education needs to be for life and not for  mere living. Sri Lanka with a high literacy rate failed itself because Education was used more for living and when there was excess money by selling knowledge – we became Asuras – like Ravanas. Ramas amongst us need to lead Sri Lankans to release themselves from the Asuras.

Today is Krishna Jayanthi – the day Krishna was born to end evil rule and restore higher governance. There were clever men during that time and yet the good and the righteous needed Krishna to facilitate the Dharmic/Righteous Structure of Governance – so each one’s earned position would be established. Whoever bows their heads to their Truth within – will own the experience. Hence the Christian message ‘Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth’. Possession is raised to Inheritance through the higher mind order and therefore the whole is everyone’s in common. This could happen only when the goodness within us leads cleverness.

A Sinhalese extremist wrote about President Sirisena – in relation to the above speech – ‘The farmers son is going to be drowned even before the next General Elections. Ranil the Fox will see to it smoothly’. If indeed President Sirisena is reflecting true Humility – he can never be defeated. He would be the True Governor that Sri Lanka needs. Those Independent Governors saved Sri Lanka from its Asuras by being humble and letting the Lord draw the picture.

Dialogue is Finished Business Mr. Blair!

While working out as per my Truth,  the true purpose of the Blair family’s visit to Sri Lanka, I received an email from a retired Sri Lankan Army Officer who as per my observations is not happy with the Tamil Leadership in Sri Lanka.  That email was under the subject ‘Power of the Mind’ and was about this brave young lady Aisha Chaudhary who was not expected to live beyond her first year but like Markandeyar lives beyond her body-age, in the minds of those who know her and about her. That to me is of heritage value. The Legend of Markandeyar is as follows:

[Mrikandu rishi and his wife Marudmati worshipped Shiva and sought from him the boon of begetting a son. As a result, he was given the choice of either a gifted son, but with a short life on earth or a child of low intelligence but with a long life. Mrikandu rishi chose the former, and was blessed with Markandeya, an exemplary son, destined to die at the age of 16.

Markandeya grew up to be a great devotee of Shiva and on the day of his destined death he continued his worship of Shiva in his aniconic form of Shivalingam. The messengers of Yama, the god of death were unable to take away his life because of his great devotion and continual worship of Shiva. Yama then came in person to take away Markandeya's life, and sprung his noose around the young sage's neck. By accident or fate the noose mistakenly landed around the Shivalingam, and out of it, Shiva emerged in all his fury attacking Yama for his act of aggression. After defeating Yama in battle to the point of death, Shiva then revived him, under the condition that the devout youth would live forever. For this act, Shiva was thereafter known also as Kalantaka ("Ender of Death"). As sourced from Sati Purana, a secret portion of Markandeya Purana, Goddess Parvati also gave him a boon to write a text on veer charitra (Fighting character) on her, the text is famously known as Durga Saptashati, a valuable portion in Markandeya Purana.]

While communicating with  us through a large live audience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFExgTJzEV4)  young Aisha Chaudhary said that she sought to share five lessons she had learnt through life’s challenges:

1.      Belief in Miracles

2.      Living in the Moment

3.      Finding Opportunities in Problems

4.      Daring  to Dream

5.      Pets are the Best Medicine to the mind

Even as I watched the recorded version – I was able to become this young lady as happens when I meditate and go into my true self. This meant – when I came out, all my problems seemed tiny relative to this young lady’s. Young Aisha who confirms that the Power of the mind is limitless says also that all things happen twice – once in your mind and once in reality.

I could identify with most of the above through my own experiences – the most recent ones being in relation to Governance through common values in Australia as well as in Sri Lanka. I was reminded also of  Bali 9 leaders who continue to live with us in their transformed entity – even though like Aisha, their bodies are not on this earth anymore.

Applying the principle that everything happened twice,  to Mr. & Mrs. Blair – I was able to work out the contradictions between the messages given by Mr. Tony Blair on the one hand and Mrs. Cherie Blair on the other. As per Colombo Telegraph’s account of Mr. Blair’s Memorial Lecture  in honor of  Lakshman Kathirgamar Mr. Blair stated:

‘The sixth principle is dialogue.

The dialogue has to be deep, it has to be inclusive and it has to be constant. All the time we have to recognise the importance, even after there is peace, even when you have the framework that I described, of a constant process of dialogue, of interaction, of understanding, of people working out their differences together. One of things that happens in a conflict, and I’ve seen this again and again around the world is that people don’t see each other’s pain. They know about their pain but they don’t see the other person’s.’

As per my experience – one must OBSERVE without participation and therefore without Dialogue once one ceases to believe that the other person is listening and therefore one is not able to rely on the structured system. If one continued to ‘talk’ / have a dialogue after that - one would be cheating oneself. Only miracles can show us the way and I firmly believe through my own experiences that miracles do happen when one truly BELIEVES.

Current British Prime Minister, the Hon David Cameron who had the heart to go to Jaffna in November 2013 – did have the quiet dialogue with the victims of war. This was preceded by Ms Navaneetham Pillai who set her UN feet on many parts of Sri Lanka’s North and East – for firsthand experience. THAT  was/is  needed to comfort and develop solutions that would compensate the victims of war who do not have access to the Government. As Mr. Cameron pointed out about the Commonwealth – these institutions are far from perfect but those who believed in them – would develop the Natural powers which are Governance powers and they are Governors of those institutions.

When such governors believe in one side or the other  they have the Natural Powers to heal and to empower the victims – especially victims who continue to feel more and more isolated and feel there is no other way but to cry their hearts out. They come to the temple and cry their hearts out  when there is no other ear to listen to them. How can one have Dialogue with the deaf? In any case what Dialogue has Mr. Blair had with either side victims of Sri Lankan war? Where was he in 2009 – when Sri Lanka needed the support of  Global Governments and Governors?  Government Leaders who have satisfactorily completed their experiences through top positions – become Governors. Those who come down confirm that they failed to complete their experiences in the top jobs. In this regard – Mr. Blair is not different to Mr. Rajapaksa who by demoting himself to the position of MP – is confirming that he did not satisfactorily complete his experience as President to promote himself to be Governor.

The recently announced ‘Business Unit’ approach to Planning and Budgeting – by the Sri Lankan Government confirms that we need to have less dialogue and  produce independent outcomes as per our own interpretations of the law without expecting others’ endorsements of rights and wrongs nor us allocating rights and wrongs to others at process level.

As per Sunday Times article ‘Sri Lanka offered legal services of high profile British firm run by Cherie Blair’ :

‘Ms. Blair admitted that she was constantly under scrutiny. “But I have also been a lawyer for over 35 years,” she said. “The system that operates in the UK is actually the same system that operates, give or take, here in Sri Lanka or, indeed, in the Maldives. It does depend on everybody getting representation. It would rather prejudge the issue, wouldn’t it, to say they have been accused of X, Y and Z and, therefore, they don’t have the right to answer the case against them?’

Many of the  laws in Sri Lanka were introduced by the British. But the way the People use them depends on their own BELIEF system. Sri Lanka that has gone through rebellion from rural folks – relies heavily on religion for people to find their own closures through belief. Their parallels in the United Kingdom are mostly Christians. Recently, when I shared through my email system, ‘the Premier of Ontario visiting  Canada Kandasamy Temple and participating in Hindu cultural activities’ - a British/American  educated Academic of Sri Lankan origin asked me some questions and I responded to confirm my belief. These are appended below. In conclusion the Christian wrote:

Christian: Who the hell are you to tell me about “education”!  I didn’t go in a verti with chunam on my forehead and balls to Hindu College, even though a couple of my uncles did. I proudly went to St. Joseph’s College. I took like a duck to water when I entered Western Christendom, unlike you and your ilk that have one convenient and expedient foot in Western Christendom and the other in some blood-letting orgy of animal sacrifice in a Mannar temple to appease another pagan god, Kali!  Even Aztecs seem more civilized! Please leave your Subcontinental gutter culture at the doorstep, instead of trying to propagate it, exploiting our Freedoms and the  Rule of Law, which are missing in your own country and in the Subcontinent. Certainly, your scandalous caste-discrimination of low-castes that is institutionalized in your Hindu religion is the most egregious “division of labor” known to Man!

The language used by the above person is rough because he was expressing within a private group. But it confirms also the risk of the power of  Colonial rule – returning to Sri Lanka in various forms. It’s about the damage to self-respect of minority in an environment where majority rule by votes, guns or money – would block the minority from declaring and practicing their true belief. In this instance the Sri Lankan Constitution gives first place to Buddhism.  Wonder how Mrs Blair would interpret that through her British mind-order?

The mind needs to expand to include others, for us to lose consciousness of particular borders. Until then the Sri Lankan mind-order needs to taken as being Equal but Different and not assumed to be easily ‘taken over’ because it seems similar.  That was the mistake the majority made with minority race in Sri Lanka.

This is a strong indicator of ‘takeovers’ by those of the West trying  to introduce Business – top-down in Sri Lanka – especially using their old powers. Zero base means –  we must renounce our past status and inherited wealth from a system that failed us – to start at level playing field. Towards this not only would Mrs. Blair need to renounce her status as former first lady but also would have needed to participate in the loss and pain of the victims of war to develop ‘Bottom-up’ structures on business basis.

Business basis means NO DIALOGUE. Where leaders had no time to listen and talk to the needy – but the citizens continue doing their duties as per their positions – there develops a Natural system – often based on belief on the citizens. Peaceful Assembly is one such outcome. Yesterday’s ‘Island’ article ‘Citizens’ Power wants TNA to be given Opp. Leader’s post’ for example confirms that such ‘capacity building’ is already happening in Sri Lanka. Those who have Experienced Sri Lanka during the past 50 years and continue to believe in Sri Lanka as a home – are the Natural Developers of Sri Lanka. This must of necessity be included in the official structure if we are to have a reliable government in Sri Lanka.

The above report states : [Ms. Blair said she was “very keen on capacity building”. “You have a lot in the African continent, for instance, who have not been targets for international business,” she related. “But now everyone’s going to Africa. Everyone’s looking for the natural resources of Africa.”

“Within the country [sic], you find that Government officials and indeed local lawyers haven’t really been trained to deal with that,” she continued. “They didn’t need to know about these transactions because they weren’t going on.”]

International Business without appropriate settlement of domestic issues would lead to a form of ‘invasion’. The above Western educated Christian for example confirms that he does not appreciate the value of the original caste system based on type of work. It’s not different to gender based discrimination as per the type of work performed on the basis of heritage of traditional values. It’s when we moved away from this time based  traditionally inherited work – that we needed to override gender based as well as caste based discrimination. Without the lateral system of Equal Opportunity – to assess through objectively measurable outputs -  possession of money becomes the measure of status in the lateral system – just as majority votes become the measure in politics.  In both instances, without commitment to Equal Opportunity principles, we become disorderly – living for benefits that could be immediately enjoyed. Often poorer countries like Sri Lanka become the targets of the more affluent Westerners who lack the capacity to respect heritage.  

As per my experience in Northern Sri Lanka, those who failed to inherit their parents’ skills and work values,  but had more money in their hands – tend to take authority into their hands to consider themselves Equals to those who are already in high positions and happen to be of different  caste and/or gender. They do not have natural leadership within their groups to comfortably operate in those higher positions. This is also the case at national level – now that we have had lesser members of minority communities holding senior positions after independence in addition to  ‘jobs for the boys’ within majority race.

Using Business Unit approach in Government Planning and Budgeting is one way of restructuring  the system towards lateral power of Democracy. But this must come from within – bottom-up for which Mrs. Blair needs to work as Equal with Sinhalese who naturally practice  Kandyan Law, Tamils who practice Thesawalamai Law and Muslims who practice  Muslim Laws. Otherwise the legal business in Colombo would make the rural folks relatively poorer in status and money than they already are.

As young Aisha said -  all things happen twice – once in your mind and once in reality. In the case of  Mr & Mrs Blair, if Sri Lanka is the platform for their Dialogue and Business - to become realities – we Sri Lankans would need to go to Britain for Dialogue with their Politicians and for jobs as migrants without the higher status we enjoyed in Sri Lanka. Mr. Abbott in turn will have to expect more shiploads of  refugees from Sri Lanka to Australia. All because leaders do not BELIEVE that they are citizens first.

Appendix

Gaja: It’s amazing how the Truth about the self surfaces in a natural environment.

1.      Christian: Why are you living in Western Christendom, if you do not want to assimilate and integrate into Western tradition and culture, which is a Christian culture, not a Hindu, Islamic, or Voodoo culture?

Gaja :Assimilation and Integration are not the same. Those who lose their previous identity to become part of majority assimilate. Hence White-Australia policy. I DO NOT assimilate even at family level.

Integration happens at the higher level – where the form does not matter. It’s like One Truth; One God through many religions.

If you are asking questions – try not to infuse your own decisions such as ‘Western tradition and culture, which is a Christian culture, not a Hindu, Islamic, or Voodoo culture?’  You are letting down your education system. That is the way of assimilators. They start imposing when they think they are in power

2.      Christian: Do Subcontinentals like you think that Western Christendom is some kind of smorgasbord, to pick and choose, as they please, and deride the rest? Are they only here to make money and educate their kids in Ivy League universities?

Gaja :No those Subcontinentals are YOUR parallels. They assimilate. Hence you are in competition with them. Given that majority Sri Lankans qualify as Subcontinentals – of strong religious following – outside Christianity – were you not doing exactly that – through your forefathers converting to Christianity? If this is wrong on the part of migrants – then so were your forefathers. When you inherited their wealth – you inherited this assimilating genes also from them. Now that you are ‘home’ with your Christians – you are desiring to subdue the very people out of whose faith as Sri Lankans – you got the opportunity to go to your Christian homeland. In any case – I am NOT one of them. I have publicly claimed here in Australia that I am SRI LANKAN educated.  I do not want a dollar more than they would pay a Sri Lankan for the work done.  That is how I have carried my dignity – but only after proving my high standards as SRI LANKAN. It’s that  thanksgiving that completes the cycle of ownership and renders us the dignity – which I find seriously lacking in you. I feel strongly that within you, you know this. One who truly cares would  identify through feelings. That is what belief  is about.

3.      Christian:If you wish to spread Hinduism, by imposing your Hindu religion and culture in the Christian West when Christians are persecuted in Jaffna, I respectfully submit that you immediately leave Western Christendom and return to your native Jaffna. There, you can consort with your half-naked Hindu fakirs, or go to Kataragama and walk over coals.

Gaja :No I do not wish to spread even my name – leave alone religion. If I had imposed Hinduism on anyone – let them speak. Why are YOU stealing their opportunity.  Likewise in Jaffna – persecution of Christian – especially after LTTE leader VP – converted to Christianity is a myth.  As for me leaving Australia – you forget – that on time basis – Aboriginals who worship Nature came here before Christians. So if one must leave for your reasons – the Christians must leave – as I am related to Aboriginals through our faith. As for fire-walking – our Priest can do that in Jaffna. Why would I need to go to Kathirgamam? You mean you do not know the scientific way of fire-walking?

The Hon Appapillai Amirthalingam of  Vaddukoddai Blesses and Rajavarotiam Sampathan of Trincomalee Delivers

God is Blessing  Sri Lanka

The Hon Appapillai Amirthalingam was the chosen Parliamentary  Opposition Leader in 1977. The Hon Rajavarothiam Sampanthan was confirmed by TNA – Tamil National Alliance -   again as the Leader of the Opposition in Sri Lankan Parliament. This has been confirmed by News 1^st as follows:

‘The Tamil National Alliance parliamentary group has decided to appoint R. Sampanthan as the leader of the opposition.

This decision was arrived at subsequent to a parliamentary group meeting of the Tamil National Alliance where R. Sampanthan will continue to act as the TNA’s Parliamentary Group Leader.

Furthermore, the TNA parliamentary group had also agreed to accept the post of Deputy Chairman of Committees.’

Reading this news I felt so very happy – as if I was leading Sri Lanka. That comes with feeling ownership which is necessary for truly voluntary work through which to serve and support the needy. The reward is often seen through others which means also that the outcomes come with Divine blessings which has its own invisible network.

Many times I would go into institutions including socio-religious groups driven by my belief but without official positions. Somehow – I would find myself right in front having the experience that higher officials miss out on. It has happened many times at temples and groups  where I believe in the Leader but where the Leader is not present. It happened during the 2009 encampment in Sri Lanka, when I felt I was given the clearance to go to the camps to be there for the needy. I believe that my investment in Health Service and Medical Faculty – here in Australia – for which I was not rewarded as an Australian – came with me to Sri Lanka to clear the pathway. The ‘gap’ accumulates and manifests Itself when we need It.

Those who embrace Democracy in Public  Administration and Zero Base approach to Planning and Budgeting – as the new Sri Lankan Government is promising to – need to renounce the past. I was happy to note Prime Minister – the Hon Ranil Wickremesinghe, yesterday  censuring an MP who brought the past  of the Tamil side into this new Parliament. That censuring  made me very happy – for that confirmed Zero Base start.  Tamils also need to do likewise and the Hon Rajavarothiam Sampanthan confirmed that TNA also sought fresh approach on behalf of Tamil People of Sri Lanka.

In Democracy – there needs to be a facility once a person had followed the law genuinely up to the highest level at which the person in the highest position has followed in that institution/environment. Beyond that one is entitled to FACILITATE her/himself to the position s/he believes has been earned by her/him. This is exactly what the TNA has done and I feel so very happy. The Media does it all the time and those who are genuine – influence through Natural networks of Facilities.

Mr. Sampanthan said in Parliament words to the effect that Sovereignty needs to be shared with all in the Country irrespective of their cultural background and other differences. TNA, by facilitating for Mr. Sampanthan  to take up the position of Leader of the Opposition – has confirmed that Tamil Leadership has recognized this FACITLITY. I feel blessed.

In contrast the following report about  Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa in Ceylon Today, confirms lower positioning for non-believers:

‘For the first time in the country's history, a former President would take oaths as a Member of Parliament today. Given that parliamentarians in general have been criticized for having more privileges than necessary, it is learnt that former President and  Kurunegala MP, Mahinda Rajapaksa would enjoy the benefits that accompany both titles.
Minister of Justice, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe speaking to Ceylon Today said by law, Rajapaksa is entitled to the salary and perks of the MP, as well as the privileges he was enjoying as former President of the country."It is unethical but not illegal. By the statute which deals with the retirement benefits of former Presidents, he has been given certain privileges and you cannot deny him that. Under parliamentary salaries and allowances, he is entitled to allowances and a salary like all of us. It is around Rs 58,000 basic and then allowances. He is entitled that," said the minister. He added, "The reason behind this is that the drafters of the President's retirement bill never thought there would be an instance of this nature. I think it is high time to look into and make necessary adjustments in the law."

The drafters of the 1978 Constitution sought to deny the Equal Sharing of Sri Lanka’s Sovereign status at global level.  Now the Constitution itself has become the problem. One who believes s/he is Sri Lankan is entitled to that Sovereign status at the same level as the highest official in the Country – in this instance the President.  

Now the person who held that same position of President -  Mr. Rajapaksa, has demoted himself to be an ordinary member in Parliament. He looked happy in that position and I concluded that that was his more comfortable position. A Tamil Politician who followed the Law – has been chosen by the Divinity in all of us to a higher position – the Leader of the Opposition position. As a Community – Tamil Community of Sri Lanka is Equally Sovereign as any other.  In terms of ethnicity – Tamils are the second largest group and therefore are entitled to natural Equal Opposition position in  natural Administration. From time to time the Sri Lankan structures confirm this.

Where majority use political powers to deny this – including by changing the laws – and the person/group that has earned that position keeps following the law – and mentally  takes up the position to do the work – without being conscious of the monetary and/or status returns – Divinity / Truth confirms the position at the first available opportunity at the highest possible level.

I have seen this happen in my family and work life followed by Public life. Most of us seek Divine intervention but not many include that in their structures. If we contemplate through our own contribution only – we would identify with the return karma.

Structures, and the Laws that keep the network connecting various parts  alive and healthy within those structures,  are important for harmony especially in a Multicultural environment.  In countries that have high literacy rate – Education is an important pathway through which this network is maintained. In others where the literacy rate is low but there is harmony – one would conclude that there is Belief based network.

That Belief based network has produced these outcomes and God has blessed Sri Lanka through both side leaders.  The President and the Prime Minister, I believe have facilitated it by not interfering. Mr. Sampanthan has done his DUTY as leader of Tamils. What more can one ask for in confirmation of Sovereignty of both groups led by and facilitated by such leadership?  One is in awe of  Lord Krishna’s message– ‘Do your Duty and leave the rest to Me.’

To me it is no coincidence that both my experiences in relation to this Governance Facility happened during Nallur Festival time. Back in 1998 I resigned from my substantive position at the University of New South Wales – but continued to contribute to Democratic Management at the University – through my writings. When the internal mechanisms failed to uphold the Truth – I escalated it to the Prime Ministerial level and beyond by taking Mr. John Howard to Court. In terms of Equal Opportunity laws – I believe/d that I had practiced the law far above the level at which Mr. Howard had practiced. From that point onwards I was a Sovereign Australian and therefore an Equal Australian to Mr. Howard and his successors in that position. Now that I have made the connection AND confirmed it – I believe that every time I was genuinely hurt by Mr. Howard, I was influencing his downfall through the system of Sovereignty – the path of Divinity. I did not know it then but every stroke of work I did went towards this straight into the voters who were also connected to me – i.e. – migrants who were denied - Equal status followed by  merit based assessment. I thus became the Natural Leader of that group. I now feel strongly that now that Sri Lanka is part of the Global Community – all of us who believe in Equal Opportunity values – and seek them for our folks in Sri Lanka – influenced these outcomes. It is not limited to Tamils but include Sovereign individuals who believe in Sri Lanka  irrespective of their ethnicities.

Where there is no law – Belief must prevail for a Nation to quality for Sovereign status.

Relative to India or even Australia, Sri Lanka has higher literacy rate. We need to use Educational pathways at all levels to uphold this structure that the gods have competed. Thank you God for the positive start.

British Tamil – the Mouse?

The delay in announcing the Leader of the Opposition confirms what Tamils of Sri Lanka can expect from the Government through various angles of Administration. According to latest news reports about the 1^st sitting of this new government:

‘Later when house sits in the afternoon, President Maithreepala Sirisena is to present the government’s policy statement to parliament.’

How can such policy statement be expected to be balanced on the basis of Principles when the structure is incomplete? The Parliament is the highest institution in the Nation. Its structure needs to be a model for the whole nation. The current situation is like a cricket team going to play with only the batting side having a captain. In other words the other side would never be allowed to bat. In a system of Democracy which by its structure needs to facilitate Equal Opportunity for both sides to bat – the voters ought to be able to work out through the rules as to who the Leader of the Opposition is – just as much as one knows who the Captain of the bowling side is. When the People are ‘told’ who the Captain is after the game has begun – then one must know that it is either a dictatorial structure or that it is getting pulled in all directions because it does not have a mind of its own. The current situation gives one the strong indicator that latter is the case.

Given that the Umpires are silent on this, Tamils have to stop looking to the Government to recognize their Equal status. As per my insight – the outcomes confirm that Tamils ARE the Equal Opposition to Sinhalese in Sri Lanka. I had similar experience to the TNA here in Australia. I shared this through my book Naan Australian (Chapter 2):

[‘Small body, big heart and great mind’  is the introduction I like identifying with. It came from an Australian academic. . This academic said it in his natural environment but failed to uphold it at the wider/higher levels. I concluded that those wider/higher levels were not yet part of his natural world. ]

The Tamil Community likewise needs to take itself as a package and not be driven by numbers. The bigger the heart – the closer we are to Divine powers. Going deep into that mind – I felt that the god in that academic was also saying ‘this is not the place for you; go and find your own place to lead naturally within your own rights’. I get the feeling that this is also the message from Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe – the one we have invested in.

Like Tamil Administrators in Sri Lanka – I performed here in Australia, at high level despite entering institutions through small positions fit for minority. But I learnt that even the best of them do not certify you on merit basis but are ready to acknowledge you as their juniors. Sometimes this is needed to confirm the official structure which they need – to uphold their positions and status. Minorities at the lateral level become juniors along the vertical plane.

Hence so long as Sinhalese are conscious of being majority – other communities will be juniors. The above academic confirmed to me in action that when it came to upholding the Truth – he lacked the courage. I find this pattern being repeated in Sri Lankan governance. Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, to my mind – would have been the most democratic political leader Sri Lanka could hope for at current times. But when the call was made – he has failed and like the above academic has joined his mates.

When I was wondering about this – I received two emails – both about Lord Ganesh as follows:

I got to know this Diaspora Leader through a group of professionals and intellectuals. The leader of that group was described as follows: ‘He comes from well known family of lawyers doctors professors but he is racist and bigot. he is member of rightwing anti-hindu, anti-muslim anti-buddhist Christian society.’  

I feel strongly that this leader would also describe himself as leading  ‘member of rightwing anti-hindu, anti-muslim anti-buddhist Christian society’. His writings confirm this. Whether that is being more racist than other leaders in his society is the question. His mind structure is similar to that of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa who used rough methods to eliminate Tamil rebels. As per the law – a genuine Tamil Lawyer or Judge would find LTTE and other armed groups ‘guilty’ of violence. One does not find that to be the case because of Tamil reality. They became a necessary force for the average Tamil to operate without fear.

Rights and wrongs are relative. Truth is absolute and there are no rights or wrongs in Truth. Hence there are no rights and wrongs in Belief. But such persons would lack the courage to uphold their Belief in wider circles from which they draw benefits. This I believe is the reason why we have the Doctrine of Separation of Powers between Judiciary and the Executive.  Likewise, between the Leader of the Opposition and the Government. Whether it be the Government or the Opposition, when they bring matters to Parliament they have to use Common Language of Administration and law through which to uphold their claims. They are our law-makers and they need to respect the law by bowing their heads when entering Parliament. People’s Truth is the god in Parliament. The Law that represents that Truth is the god in Court of Law.

The Parliament represents all people current and past – of Sri Lanka. Administration has two sides whilst belief based politics has only one side. Former is intellectual discriminative thinking and latter is emotional influence. Once Administration starts the two sides must be distinctly seen. This is the reason why a member of  one party cannot sit on one side of the Parliament and another member of the same party sit on the other side. Such a government is assured of acting in breach of the Doctrine of Separation of Powers between two Equals. Such Judiciary would fail to uphold the principles and values of Equal Opportunity system. Sinhalese without experience in self-governance ask ‘What is it that we have that you do not?’

My mind is already working on the next strategy that Tamils would need to follow if  the earned position of Tamils is not recognized in Parliament. This is where the above emails are significant. In his article ‘Why is Lord Ganesha on the Indonesian currency?’, author Raghul Shyam states:

‘Ganesha is worshipped as god of education which fits the main theme of the note — education. If you look at the backside of the note, you'll see a picture of typical classroom activity in Indonesia and in front, a picture of Ki Hajar Dewantara whose birthdate is celebrated as National Education Day in Indonesia. The use of Hindu's deities and symbols is common in Indonesia as in the early centuries, Indonesian archipelago was heavily influenced by Hinduism.’

Education is also the strength of Tamils of Sri Lanka. All other pursuits come after Education in Jaffna. In terms of Ganesh and His vehicle – the mouse – the above author states:

‘Tamils have Ganesh statue from 6th century AD. But Indonesia has Ganesh statues from 1st century AD, discovered in Panaitan islands. Lord Ganesh travelled faster by sea than on land in his Mushika (mouse) vahana’

This is the parallel of saying that 16 is more powerful than 60 (Majority Numbers & Minority Energy to confirm Sovereignty – at http://austms.blogspot.com.au/). In Hindu structures – the vehicle on which we travel to realize our Sovereignty is the animal within us. There are different animals for different pathways. Lord Muruga for example – travels the globe physically on His peacock.  Those who follow Muruga philosophy must do the physical travel and OBSERVE the outcomes produced by various societies in a Multicultural world divided by physical boundaries.  Ganesh with elephant face – clears the obstacles to facilitate His deep memory. The elephant is known to have the deepest memory in the animal world. The reason why His vehicle is small is the same reason why the mouse used to operate the computer is small.  The vehicle is the opposite of the Deity in the altar. Murugan is egoless. His vehicle  Peacock is proud.  Ganesh has fast internal memory and the mouse least memory of its own. I conclude that Hindu mind structure must have influenced the Computer and the Mouse formation!

Once discovered Truth is everybody’s. Muruga is one pathway while Ganesh is the other pathway. Muruga’s is democratic pathway of  global Tamils. Ganesh is the Traditional pathway of resident Tamils. In the mango legend – Ganesh went around His parents to get the prize mango.  If therefore there is no room for Equality in One Sri Lanka – Tamils must mentally go around their parents – Tamil Nadu to win Sovereignty – but without leaving home.

If TNA  is denied the Leader of the Opposition position – then Tamils must unite through Tamil Nadu to confirm majority power. When there is a threat – they must invoke those powers by praying to Lord Ganesh. Once we leave Sri Lanka and go overseas – we need to go along the path of Murugan. If we stay at home we need to use our Traditional pathway to realize self-governance. Tamils need to be careful not to indiscriminately mix the two pathways – for example by TNA going to British Tamils as well as Indian Tamils. In size Indian Tamils are like Lord Ganesha and British Tamils are like the mouse. All we need is our deep memory of IPKF – Indian Peace-Keeping Force to confirm our Traditional strengths upheld through Hinduism. THAT would be Tamil Common Opposition upholding Dharma (Rightesousness).
