VESAK & VAIKASI VISAKAM

The moon was full and I thought it must be Vesak today. I had knowledge that it was Vesak season but did not know the exact date. I guess I did not need to know the exact date. Taking the sight of full- moon as indicator -  I touched the feet of Buddha and said ‘Happy Vesak’ to myself. This meant that I was mind merging with all Buddhists who believe that Vesak is a day to be celebrated. As per my knowledge it is the anniversary of  the day Lord Buddha was born and also attained Samaathi/Liberation.

Yesterday Hindus celebrated ‘Vaikasi Visakam’ – including at Kannaki Amman temple in the area where the 2009 battle at the centre of war-crimes allegations against the Sri Lankan government, happened. It was this Kannaki I was referring to in my yesterday’s article:

[The dress code of a culture is a private matter for them unless it interferes with common values. Not only Muslims but many Hindu women are also are often   subjected to such restrictions to accommodate male dominance.  The Hindu marriage ceremony includes a ritual in which the foot of the bride is placed by the bridegroom, on the grinding stone. This is to promote chastity so that the character of the mother is strengthened by enjoying less physical and immediate pleasures than her husband followed by their children. Such a mother elevates the culture of the whole family and makes it sovereign and therefore self-governing. In turn the wife/mother becomes the highest power who is to be respected. Such a wife/mother has the ability to invoke the Universal Energy. Mother Kannaki’s legend confirms this. That is how pleasure is elevated to Energy by  wife/mother. Likewise, minorities who enjoy less than majority at primary level.

If minorities burn the whole due to such power – the curse does not continue. If they burn out of revenge – the curse would come with the punisher. ]

Part of the problem that the LTTE highlighted in 1983, was rape by Sinhalese soldiers in Northern Sri Lanka. This was confirmed to be true by the soldier-informants at the battlefield who were against rape. They were true soldiers who did not take more than their official dues in a free environment. The current ‘big-issue’ here in Australia is rape – triggered by the complaint of rape within Parliament House. The alleged victim is Ms Brittany Higgins. As I watch the royal treatment to Brittany, my mind goes to the way I was treated for complaining against workplace harassment which I felt was due to my race. To me when someone’s true contribution is rubbished that is also rape. Rights are developed through unpaid work within the institutional boundaries. ‘Consent’ was discussed in the above issue. But there was little said about institutional values. Rape in parliament needs to be taken as happening due to weak institutional structures.

My main realization this Vesak morning was that when we bring a good leader into our mind – we do not need to ask expressly. Until then we have to ask and it is the duty of the senior to ‘give’ within the institutional boundaries. Sexual pleasures within marriage are within institutional boundaries and they also require the junior to ‘ask’ and the ‘senior’ to provide – until the two minds become one. Australia, is largely a Christian nation and yet I had the above realisation on Vesak day.  Those who follow marriage laws become ‘one’ and enjoy happiness due to that oneness. Respect for Laws  of the institution, automatically leads to respect for the fellow members of that institution and v.v. That respect is the protecting armour of every minority power.

Where institutional powers are weak minorities form their own protection – as LTTE did as well as Muslims do. This acts as natural repellent of such rapes by outsiders in a relatively ‘freer ’ society/community. It is therefore wrong of governments elected by such communities to decide on the dress code of women. If implemented, men in that community would gradually cease to protect their women including through their own chastity. I realised this when a Muslim contractor said to me he would not shake hands with me because of his religious belief. That was new to me even though I have worked in Muslim institution in Sri Lanka. But I was impressed that this guy practiced that rule even when he was not being supervised.

When there are such natural preventive measures – those from less regulated communities who consider such persons as their seniors – would also not need specific laws to micromanage relationships.

HOW TO DEFEAT MONEY POWER

[So what exactly happens when you use these Payment Methods ? a Debit and a Credit! That's it !

This is what exactly happens regardless of the transactions between individuals, companies, govt and its citizens, between nations! Just a Debit and a Credit entry! ] A Sri Lankan Chartered Accountant of Tamil origin.

I was asked to comment on the above which referred the reader to Professor Kumar David’s article ‘Digital Yuan: China’s Currency Is Going International’ published by Colombo Telegraph.

My response was as follows:

[Money is the visible parallel of Universal Energy.

If you are in control of both sides you do not need any other confirmation. Hence in families we do not do money transactions but use respect and status to recognize services. Money is the in between medium through which we write our service values to each other. Taken at universal  level – this is zero net value.

At Energy level also – this balance is zero. Hence poojiyathukuleh our raajiyam /A Nation within zero.]

This morning I read the article ‘Vested interests underneath ethnic conflicts’ by Harsha Gunasena who to my mind is an inclusive thinker. Harsha highlights :

[The present Sri Lankan Government applies a suppressive attitude towards Muslims. It is merely a punishment to them as predicted by Ali Sabry prior to the last Presidential Election that if the Muslims do not vote for them there will be repercussions.
The intention of the Government is political. It is to get the 100% support of the hardline Sinhala Buddhists in the coming elections in the light of diminishing popularity of the Government.

On the other hand, the Muslim community has a pathetic political leadership and insensitive religious leadership. Their political leadership dared to cross the sides and support the government to have crucial two-thirds majority in the House to pass the repressive 20th Amendment amid the suppression of their community by the Government. They and the others crossed the sides previously but certainly not under these circumstances.
Their religious leadership is insensitive towards the demands of women in relation to Muslim Marriage Law and failed to declare publicly that according to the Holy Quran it is not required for the women to cover their whole body as in the case of burka and niqab. They can open the face and hands below wrist as per the Holy Quran. Sinhalese believes that the ideological shift of the Muslim community was visible during the past decades through the dress of the Muslim women. Therefore, it worked against the centuries-old friendship of the two communities.

The Government decision to ban burka in public places is really not related to the security and it is a part of that punishment which goes against basic human rights.
]

To my mind, where there is strong following of a religion at primary level – officers who are responsible for law and order, and are from a different religion, need apply secular law, on the basis of objectively measurable evidence. In other words, there needs to be zero level subjective influence in decision making. The alternative is for the government to process all decisions above a certain level – through the respective religious hierarchy. This was the effect of Mr Ali Sabry’s ‘advice’ which effectively was a trade-off for the high position in government. Hence the truth was blocked to get the ‘right’ tick.

So, what happens within the inner chambers of the system of justice? Would Muslims who voted for this government empower the government? No. Hence they would be traitors to the system of Democracy – to the extent they voted out of ‘fear’. One who has fear   confirms the presence of desire. They are the debit and credit of attachment to the physical. They are equal and opposite at the physical level.

Given that they are Equal and Opposite at the physical level,  they would tend to separate/polarise. To prevent this, one needs a uniting power that is not visible. That power is belief / truth / love. It is invisible. Rights and wrongs of that power give form to laws. They cannot be made by those who are attached to the visible outcomes. When such persons make laws – they would be unreliable and have the tendency to polarise where primary level thinkers make those laws.

An Opposition that genuinely believes that a law is wrong and exerts more Energy in opposing it – invokes exponential power – through the lateral pathway of democracy or the ancestral pathway of autocracy. That power would naturally ‘block’ passage of any law that was passed by majority power at the physical level.

The Port City Economic Commission law can be ‘blocked’ the same way there was resistance to foreign rule.

The dress code of a culture is a private matter for them unless it interferes with common values. INJUSTICE TO MUSLIMS

I believe that the Ultimate Reality of a writer is when the writer merges with the Reader within. From time to time when someone from the outside confirms such identity, this inner satisfaction is enhanced exponentially. Such feelings are instantaneous and could be shared emotionally, intellectually and/or through still minds.

Following is such a sharing from a Catholic in response to my article - IN COMES CHINA; OUT GOES BUDDHISM:

[Well said. Can you please explain through your knowledge about the “Gregorian Reform”-  undue control by civil leaders and the armed services on the religious faith of the people especially in Srilanka our mother land. ]

My response was:

[The mind of clergy begins with religious rituals and progresses towards the Ultimate Reality / God

The mind of a civil leader begins with secular rules and due processes and ends with Governance

The mind of armed services begins with repetitive physical processes that train the body under close supervision and ends with victory in the battlefield.

Undue control begins when the paths are indiscriminately mixed on the way. As per my little knowledge, the Gregorian Reforms were undertaken allegedly by the Church. But to the extent the leaders were Catholics, both pathways – civilian and religious - would have been in their minds. They are likely to have influenced improvements in civil leadership but when applied as law it would have interfered with passage through both pathways. When facilitated to progress independently – they would naturally merge at the destination. This separation is the parallel of separation between sovereign states. A religious order needs to be independent not only of other religious orders but also of civil and armed services whose goals are different in form. ]

This helped me better appreciate the Sunday Times Political Editorial  ‘Easter Sunday massacres: Grand conspiracy and questions as to who the mastermind is’. The editorial highlights as follows:

[Now to the most important fact. Nowhere has the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which conducted investigations in Sri Lanka, said that “Naufer Moulavi is the mastermind of the attacks.” Why then is Minister Weerasekera plugging his own line of findings when the FBI has not taken up that position? Only he has the answers.]

Wikipedia presents Intelligence as follows:

[Human intelligence is the intellectual power of humans, which is marked by complex cognitive feats and high levels of motivation and self-awareness.]

One is entitled to conclude that the FBI would specialise in maintaining its intelligence at a high level – at which level its wealth is invisible to the ordinary reader. Mr Weerasekera was in the Navy for 35 years and hence his natural group is the Navy which is driven largely by victory in the battlefield.  It is important to be conscious that as a foreign agency, the FBI needs evidence to be taken as credible in its conclusions. Not so Mr Weerasekera who is a Buddhist and whose elder brother Mr Ananda Weerasekera is reported to have been a Major General in the Army who became a Buddhist Priest in Ampara. It is significant that majority in Ampara are Muslims. Hence leadership through Buddhism would have been a challenge to the likes Mr Ananda Weerasekera whose mind is naturally connected to that of his brother. In addition, the current President has ‘shown’ importance to Buddhism from the time he took oaths.

Due to the above relationships Mr Weerasekera would have subjective power to connect to a Buddhist but would naturally oppose a Muslim unless he uses the evidence based secular pathway. Instead he is reported to have used the subjective pathway in breach of the basic principles that require common faith to use the subjective pathway and that too internally. This has been highlighted as follows by the Sunday Times:

[This is not the first time Minister Weerasekera has accused Mohamed Naufer (Moulavi) as the “mastermind” behind the Easter Sunday attacks. As pointed out in these columns (The Sunday Times – Political Commentary) on April 11, 2021, “firstly, if indeed Naufer Moulavi was the mastermind, why was he not summoned to testify before the Commission of Inquiry that probed the incidents? Secondly, has the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) any evidence to confirm this belated claim? In the voluminous reports of the Commission, there is no reference to Naufer being a mastermind. Neither is he named for being behind any of the attacks. However, the Commission has only named Milhan Hayathu Mohamed as among the three “persons who are directly connected with the terrorist acts referred to in the mandate.”  If indeed there was any other evidence with the CID to prove beyond doubt that Naufer Moulavi was the “mastermind” it has not come to the public domain. Nor has Minister Weerasekera made it known to back up his own claim.]

An institution such as the CID is more likely to use the secular pathway and its Due Processes which would invoke the truth by a senior from a junior. As stated in my response to the Catholic – when pathways are mixed on the way they block the truth. That is how the mind works.

Whether Mohamed Naufer is guilty of not, he is entitled to Due Process of the law from zero disadvantage. It is therefore time for us to separate religion and government – so that the law would be applied on equal footing. This would become more necessary in the case of Colombo Port City where Chinese are likely to take advantage of the separation and complete the karmic picture by being subjective their way.

IN COMES CHINA; OUT GOES BUDDHISM

Hindus and Buddhists accept the philosophy of karma. It is commonly expressed as – ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. Often the average person does not relate to sowing and reaping at the same time. Those who follow the law would get to project the effects through that law. Towards this the law needs to be common to sowers and reapers.

In autocracy, the law maker has to be cleverer than the citizen to know intellectually, both sides at the same time. In  Democracy, the law maker has to be no more clever than the common citizen. The role of the Opposition is to Oppose to limit the government’s cleverness to that level. Towards this the Opposition needs to be intellectually cleverer than the Government. An Opposition that cares about the People will have this exponential power so long as it takes equal position and no more.

In the case of Colombo Port City Economic Commission bill, the Sri Lankan Parliament demonstrated 148 (66%) for, 59(26%) against. The rest abstained. Out of those who abstained were 2 from the government’s side. Theirs is taken to be exponential in value. Hence one is entitled to conclude that the vote was 61 (27%) against.

Given that Buddhism foremost is applicable to Buddhists one can work out whether this law is Universally powerful through belief or whether it is a mere trading rule, which damages the Sovereign Borders of Sri Lanka.

Majority Sri Lankans do practice their respective religions and hence it would protect them in terms of fundamental values. The parliament needed two thirds majority to override the religious laws of Sri Lanka – notwithstanding where they are grouped in the Constitution. The fact that the vote of Buddhists leaders was dismissed by the Colombo Port City Economic Commission law, was confirmed as follows:

[This year’s National Vesak Festival will not be held due to the prevailing pandemic situation in the country, Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs Sunanda Kariyapperuma stated.]

The timing confirms the connection to the believer. If therefore the Colombo Port City Economic Commission law is active, to accommodate communist China – then Buddhism foremost will no longer have a place in the Sri Lankan Constitution. The king virus facilitated this exit of Buddhism.

As per the fundamentals of Buddhism – Lord Buddha consumed food given as act of Service by the householders. Hence economic prosperity beyond that does not deserve to be protected by Buddhist sovereignty which is largely for the poor person.

MICRONATION OR HARBOUR FOR SILK ROAD VESSELS?

The Colombo Port City was referred to as Micronation by Tamil commentator Guna Kaviyalahan and as the Vessel by law Expert – Dr Gehan Gunetilleke, in his article ‘Salvaging the Port City Project’ published by Daily ft.

As an Australian, I relate to the Tamil description as the parallel of ‘Principality of Hutt River/Hutt River Province’ . The difference between the Australian government and the Sri Lankan government was that the former was diplomatic and the latter was reactive.  The Hutt River Province was formally dissolved in August 2020 – 50 years after declaration of political independence. The Tamil declaration was hijacked by rebels due to both side political leaders being weak.

According to Dr Gehan Gunetilleke - the Port City project is a vessel that promises to deliver enormous benefits. To be a ‘project’ it has to has to have a visible beginning and a visible completion, with the net value merging with the program at the same level of ownership. The Hambantota Project ended up as loss of ownership of land space by Sri Lankans. It began in 2008. The war against the Tamil Tigers was escalated and taken to a finish in 2009. To my mind, that was due to the higher confidence that money gave.

Dr Gehan Gunetilleke states [‘What is constitutional’ is taken to be a technical legal question rather than a normative one.]

As per Wikipedia:

[Normativity is the phenomenon in human societies of designating some actions or outcomes as good or desirable or permissible and others as bad or undesirable or impermissible. A norm in this normative sense means a standard for evaluating or making judgments about behavior or outcomes]

To be reliable, the norm has to stem from belief. In the Australian example – the Common head was the Queen. In Sri Lanka, the British government  was seen as the Common head – until independence from the British. Tamils failed to accept Sinhalese as their leaders after that. This was given recognition not by them but by the Sinhalese who tried to enforce their rule through Sinhala only & Buddhism foremost laws. When there is different pathways of belief, normative questions have to be divided and posed in different forms.

Even though we did not openly divide and pose the normative questions – Tamils formed coalition with Indians and Sinhalese with Chinese – largely due to their respective religious orders. Our Constitution itself has so divided us through article 3. If that was belief based and it needs to be taken to be so due to its continued existence, it applies to Buddhists and not to non-Buddhists nor to democratic Buddhists.

We recently had bitter experience with the Isle of Man administration of the estate of my brother in law Mr Subramaniam Yoganathan. The liquid assets were in Jaffna and in Isle of Man which is the parallel of the proposed Colombo Port City. In Jaffna, the assets were covered by Thesawalamai law but under the influence of  Colombo lawyers who seriously lacked belief in Thesawalamai law – Jaffna courts overruled Thesawalamai law and ruled Equal distribution which meant that daughters who got dowry received also a share of the residual value known as Muthusum. In turn – they withdrew the monies in Barclays Wealth in Isle of Man, without the consent of my husband. The empowerment was given by Jaffna Courts which have become  isolated from the common judicial minds of Sri Lankan Judicial elders. We are now planning on suing those responsible. In the meantime, I have written a book in Tamil to help the indigenous folks in Jaffna, to whom Thesawalamai Law is applicable. Some of them seek my advice in such matters so they do not have to go to courts.

Knowingly or otherwise, Tamils have created this micronation which is effectively an island. Their parallels in Southern Sri Lanka have created the Colombo Port City due to separatism karma.

Dr Gehan Gunetilleke concludes as follows:

[Make no mistake, the Port City project can be enormously beneficial to the Sri Lankan public. It is therefore a project worth improving and preserving. But several problematic features of the current law will prevent the Sri Lankan people from reaping the benefits of the project. If they are not addressed, the vessel, and all the promised benefits on board, will sail away, leaving us Sri Lankans behind.]

This confirms that Dr Gehan Gunetilleke lacks the experience at his level. As Einstein declared ‘The only source of knowledge is experience’. In democracy, this is the experience of the common citizen and not that of the ruler. When the citizen who follows the law feels the pain of loss due to the ruler, including the judiciary, declaring her/him a failure, s/he becomes wise in that subject matter, provided s/he does not take lesser benefits. On that basis – to me the Port City project at best will be like the Isle of Man if driven by clever business but ruthless minds and/or would be like Tamil Eelam controlled by Communists. All because we sought isolation away from democratic nations.

DUALITY OF CANADIAN GOVERNMENT

Belief  based Opposition is a fundamental aspect of Democracy.  Yesterday, the Canadian Prime Minister published the following declaration:

[Today, on the 12th anniversary of the end of armed conflict in Sri Lanka, we remember all those who were killed, or injured, and all who were impacted by the many years of conflict, including during the last phase of the war in Mullivaikal. We also offer our deepest sympathies to the survivors and their families, and to everyone living with the pain and trauma caused by this conflict.]

Gary Anandasangaree of the same party stated his alleged belief as follows:

[As we near the 12th Anniversary of the #Mullivaikkal #Genocide, I rose in the house to pay tribute to our fallen Tamil brothers and sisters. The march towards justice is long and painful, but we will continue until justice is served.]

The Prime Minister effectively Opposed Gary Anandasangaree on the same issue in the same chamber. Both are of the one Political Party but obviously with different beliefs. Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne responded as follows to my article ET TU OBAMA!:

[China’s much-touted “One Belt, One Road” initiative to develop trade infrastructure fostered autocratic mismanagement in other countries. In keeping with Beijing’s long standing practice, Belt and Road loans come with no visible conditions, making Beijing a preferred lender for autocrats. These unscrutinized infusions of cash made it easier for corrupt officials to pad their bank accounts while saddling their people with massive debt in the service of infrastructure projects that in several cases benefit China more than the people of the indebted nation…..

We have to understand the CHINA belt around MAHINDA and decay of our political structure GOING ON.]

Ceylon Today however has published as follows under the heading ‘12 Years On, Since Vanquishing LTTE’:

[Today marks the 12th anniversary of vanquishing the LTTE on 19 May 2009. The long drawn-out war against the Tamil terrorists was won solely owing to the unyielding courage of then President and present Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, the clever planning by his brother then defence Secretary and current President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the valiant efforts of military officers of the calibre of today’s defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne.

What prompted then President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was also following a policy of negotiations with the LTTE as a means of ending the war, to revert to war against them was the massacre of Kebithigollewa where a bus packed with villagers had been attacked. Then President Mahinda Rajapaksa rushed to the scene of the tragedy and witnessed for himself the carnage caused and was determined to put an end to the savage war and from that moment on, there was no turning back.]

Taking that to be true, did that decision not lead to proportionately  more such damage by the Sinhalese on Tamil civilians – 3 years after the Kebithigollewa attack? As a Tamil Diaspora Leader pointed out – the scale was much larger. That is the problem with emotion based policy. LTTE ‘took’ arms from the then President, Mr Premadasa and then killed him after evicting the Indian Peace-Keeping Force. Likewise, LTTE ‘took’ money from the then Presidential candidate Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2005 to ‘block’ Tamil votes. In the same pattern as they contributed to the killing of Mr Premadasa, the LTTE used the money to kill Sinhalese – 6 months  later at Kebithigollewa.

Using the same pathway one can project fairly reliably as to what would happen in the Colombo Port City Project. It is the other side of the LTTE but much larger scale due to China’s global status.

I believe that each time we discover truth AND someone identifies with it – we become one minded and share power as owners. This has been confirmed by the following in Sri Lankan Constitution as follows:

[In the Republic of Sri Lanka sovereignty is in the People and is inalienable.]

There are many Tamils who identify with the truth and share with others. Those who receive it and identify with it share ownership at Energy level. Many who so identify with my work are non-Tamils. To the extent they are non-Sri Lankans also – the ownership is global. To my mind every such person has the power to override exponentially, the effects of the actions of Politicians and / or Rebels. Sometimes this requires us to ‘keep still’ and observe the full form of their Energy.

Wise Chanakyan set the leadership in this for us. In the meantime – if Canadian Government’s duality is acceptable to a mind – that mind has to accept Sri Lankan duality as well. Otherwise that mind would get disorderly.
