Hindu Jihad?

“The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera today charged that there was an ongoing conspiracy by the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and several other personnel to chase out Sinhalese from their native lands in the North and East with the intention of re-merging the two provinces.

The Northern Province and the Eastern Province were merged into one contiguous Northeastern Province with the implementation of the 13th Amendment. Later it was again divided into two provinces.” - Daily Mirror - Conspiracy to remove Sinhalese from North and East: BBS

As a student I learnt in Auditing that Internal Controls using Separation of Duties would strengthen the security and reliability of an Accounting system. The risk of collusion is minimized through Separation. Given that Chartered Accountancy is part of the Sri Lankan Administrative mind – I would expect it to apply also to Public Administration.

So, is the Buddhist organization - Bodu Bala Sena – recommending separation of Eastern Tamils from Northern Tamils for purposes of Internal Control? Mergers happen at three levels:

1.      Socially by the People.

I already witness such mergers in Jaffna – where vendors often talk to me in Sinhalese. Sinhalese who come to Jaffna voluntarily – are contributing to natural mergers. I did not encounter any block to this from any Politician in Jaffna. If Bodu Bala Sena did, then they must reveal details of it so Tamils could take corrective action. If Bodu Bala Sena does not reveal details – we have the duty to conclude that they are expressing their own fears. The details revealed are as follows:

The Ven. Thera was referring to the houses that were being rebuilt by the Government in these areas.
“There are about 325 fishing families, who are permanent residents of the Kokilai village without proper houses. The money given to reconstruct 65 houses that were given by late Ranasinghe Premadasa had been used to resettle Tamils in that village,” the Thera said.

“A 50 acre block of the ‘Kok Eliya’ land , which was the only Sinhala village in Vavuniya had been bulldozed by a member of TNA (Sinnamon), who had been a leader of the LTTE pistol gang and taken steps to resettle Tamils in that village,” he said.

“We ask President Maithripala Sirisena why the Government couldn’t take any action against the TNA and other Tamil organisations. Do only Sinhalese have to be law abiding citizen of this country?” he said.

The Government must act if the above damage was unlawful – not at Presidential level but through Due Administrative processes. If the Govenrment fails to act then Tamils may conclude that mentally – the Government fears the LTTE.

In response to my article - Ghosts & Angels of War  - one resident Tamil wrote in relation to fears of the Government that Tamils may takeover leadership from Sinhalese -‘From what I understand that is how the Sinhalese are being taught by their politicians and "brain-washed" ; teachers are teaching their students.’

I responded as follows:

‘If the driving force is ‘desire’ for political power – then the fear comes with it as per the Lord’s system of Truth. Then they would manifest as Acts of God when they go beyond their valid time for correction.

Does Bodu Bala Sena fear Buddhism losing its foremost place in Sri Lanka? If yes, could this be cured by separating Tamils from each other? Socially, the war brought Tamils together – closer than ever before – including from wider world.

2.      By law

In this instance through elimination of ‘Sinhala only law’ and replacing it with 13A, the law confirmed the internal merger – largely due to LTTE power supported by India. As per my observations – there has been no conscious use of  13A by Tamils in Sri Lanka – for whatever reason, at People’s level. 13A confirmed the merger that already existed due to common cause. In fact Eastern LTTE broke away from Northern LTTE despite 13A. This confirms that with such rebel groups – the trick is to have custody of the power of law that is already in existence through natural behavior – so they look elsewhere for reasons for fighting..

3.       Through Natural Forces of Karma

The merger of  Tamil minds is largely through religious pathways – Hinduism and Christianity. Hence the strengthening of bondage between Indians and Sri Lankan Tamils – especially those who lost faith in Buddhist government leadership. To the extent such loss was beyond the control of Tamils who suffered – they were naturally empowered by their faith including through Indians with similar cultural practices. All those who genuinely practice their respective religion merge minds with other genuine practitioners of that religion. When they do – the religious pathway becomes the more natural pathway accessible to all genuine practitioners. India with Hinduism as its major religion, is therefore a Natural Protector of Sri Lankan Tamils – as the Middle East is of Muslims.

Given that over 80% of Indians are Hindus and only about 3% are Buddhists – it would take stronger practices of Buddhism in both countries for the Hinduism merger to be overridden by Buddhism merger. In terms of land connection – India is the closest and strongest relative of Sri Lanka and  hence the Natural forces that merge our minds will continuously protect Sri Lankan Hindus – without us consciously seeking such protection. It is Hindu Jihad / Dharma.

The war in Sri Lanka was strongly influenced by this invisible Natural Merger of Hindus. When such merger happens between Buddhists in Sri Lanka and  China -  we would have Buddhist Jihad. On their own it is highly unlikely that Sri Lankan Buddhists would develop this power to override Indian influence in Sri Lanka – the real and permanent power which would be invoked by any genuine Hindu.

As Lord Krishna said to the seer of Truth – ‘Whatever happened, happened well

Whatever is happening is happening well; Whatever has to happen will also happen well.’

If Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera meditates under a Bo tree and sheds all worldly expectations – he would also identify with the above and share his strengths with Buddhist civilians – as Lord Buddha did.

Ghosts & Angels of War

I walked up to the Bali Memorial in Coogee. I removed my shoes (Hindu style) and went close to the Memorial. I read the words of honor and then prayed in my own way. To the extent I could, I felt the pain of families and friends of the dead – highlighted  as follows:

[Twenty locals from the eastern Sydney suburb died in the bombings at Kuta in 2002.

Kirsty McKeon, who lost her sister and mother in the attack, said she still has vivid memories of the bombings.

"It was our last night in Bali and everyone was having fun at dinner, celebrating the fun times we had enjoyed," Ms McKeon said.

"I remember the bomb going off, being on the floor and trapped under the roof, escaping in a panic through a hole and then reaching the back wall and being hoisted over as the fire grew.

"I remember dad being badly injured and being flown back to Australia and mum and Rosa still being missing. [I remember] feeling alone and confused at what had happened, it hadn't sunk in.

"From that night on, my life was never the same. I spent lonely nights in bed wondering why it had happened to us. I would finally fall asleep only to be waken again by nightmares."] ABC news

The above account is not too different to some of the accounts highlighted by war-victims in Sri Lanka. My experience of the pain of Coogee victims was consolidated with the pain of Sri Lankan victims of ‘bombings’.

Majority Sri Lankan victims of ‘bombings’ were/are Tamils. Does that make Terrorists of the Government soldiers – given that the Bali bombers are labeled Terrorists by most Australians known to me? These questions were/are important to Australia due to Terrorism anxieties and to Sri Lanka, at a time when the Sri Lankan Government is embarking on Truth & Reconciliation efforts – the latest report stating as follows about this:

[Technical team sent to South Africa to study TRC process

A technical team has been sent to South Africa to study the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) process established after the abolition of apartheid, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera told Parliament today.

However he said while there are many ideas Sri Lanka can take from South Africa, the final solution will be one which will address the needs of Sri Lanka.

The Minister also said that the Government is committed to address the issue on missing persons and will setup an office on missing persons.

He however said the Government has no intention of creating mechanisms simply to satisfy the international community or meet any deadlines.

The Minister said the Government is not meeting its commitments to its people to appease the international community but since it believes the country can move forward only by addressing the past. (Colombo Gazette)]

So what is the Truth about Bali Bombings? Is it that the Indonesians who threw the bombs were Terrorists? If the physical act is the measure – then given that majority victims of the Sri Lankan war were/are Tamils – and those who used the bombs were part of the Government Armed Forces  then are the Armed Forces, Terrorists?

They say in Tamil ‘The seen and the heard are lies. Only the discovery through deep inquiry is True’. Reality is often presented as Truth by the hasty. The Vice Chancellor of the University of NSW who allocated a ‘small’ slot of time in his schedule to meet up and hear me said to me about himself ‘That’s my reality’ . In other words, he was saying he was accepting ‘what happened’ as his base. This was from the Administrative head of an institution with the alleged core purpose to seek and find the Truth. I concluded that to him I was as small as the time he allocated to me at surface level only.

In terms of Sri Lanka’s Truth & Reconciliation Commission – going off to South Africa – they could only learn about South Africa’s reality for which they do not need to go physically to South Africa spending tax-payers’ money.

In my case – I went to meet with the Vice Chancellor to share my Truth – the Truth I had discovered about the University’s Financial and Human Resource systems – beyond the terms of my employment – as an owner fulfilling the core purpose of the University. But the Vice Chancellor was not ready to receive that Energy. The example that comes to mind about such lack of faith - is from the Indian epic Mahabharatham:

[Thuriyothanan – the leader of majority force went to his mother Gandhari asking her to bless him so he would be the winner in the war against his cousins – the minority opposition group (like Tamils of Sri Lanka). Gandhari – the queen – had blinded herself and had denied herself the physical eyesight to match her blind husband the king. In addition, Queen Gandhari prayed deeply and accumulated strong Energy. As a mother she had the duty to bless her son. Hence reluctant though Gandhari was for the Good Opposition to lose – she owed her son her blessings. Gandhari asked her son to take a bath and come naked. Thuriyothanan did so but when Lord Krishna teased him – he covered the private part of his body. When Gandhari removed her eye-covering – the stored Energy went to Thuriyothanan as blessing but not the covered parts. Eventually Thuriyothanan was killed due to injury to his thigh.]

Nirvana as used in Buddhism is nakedness. One has to be naked of all superficial / external attachments and be Natural to share Common Ownership Energy.

This Energy is the strongest force and cannot be recognized by the physical body and is beyond calculations. Truth cannot be known without this Energy as the base. When one blesses the other – it is this Energy that gets shared. It is also known as the Root Cause of Problems and Opportunities.

In terms of Bali Bombings – I have felt an Energy connection due to my feelings for Coogee and my pain as a migrant in Australia. The University of NSW where I experienced pain due to unjust discrimination (as per my belief) – is within the same legal geographic boundaries as Coogee. As is the case with most national and global events – there isn’t a single force that manifests such outcomes. There are the surface influences – such as majority strength and there are the intellectual influences using common values – through practice of common laws and principles. Deeper than this is the Natural Energy – the force of the Soul. Once this level is reached – the value is exponential. Deep seekers learn the true connection through their investment in this.  This Energy could be invoked consciously or otherwise – by such a seeker. I believe I am able to invoke this to know the connection between cause and effect in most of  my experiences. This is the intuitive power that all of us are capable of but most are blind to due to being conscious of  excessive external powers.

I have felt a connection between Bali and Coogee through their ancestral makeup.

Coogee

As per Wikipedia:

‘The name Coogee is said to be taken from a local Aboriginal word koojah which means "smelly place". Another version is koo-chai or koo-jah, both of which mean "the smell of the seaweed drying" in the Bidigal language. or "stinking seaweed", a reference to the smell of decaying kelp washed up on the beach. ………. The Aboriginal population had largely relocated by the mid-19th century after being decimated by disease and violent clashes with early settlers, though some Aborigines still live in the area today.’

If indeed there were violent clashes with migrants – then the Aborigines to whom Coogee was ‘home’ would have been ‘displaced’/ ‘unrooted’ unjustly. Those who so unrooted the Aborigines may have acted within their own laws but would have been  unjust if it was ‘home’ to Aborigines as per their laws - especially if that ‘Home’ became place of ‘amusement’ to the new residents. Wikipedia reports:

[In 1924 construction started to build an 'English seaside style' amusement pier at Coogee Beach, on 24 July 1928, the pier was officially opened, reaching 180 metres out into the sea complete with a 1400-seat theatre, a 600 capacity ballroom, a 400-seat restaurant upstairs, small shops and a penny (machine) arcade. Unfortunately Coogee's rough surf damaged the pier and it was demolished in 1934. Life guards have recently discovered remains of the pier on the ocean floor about 50 metres out from shore]

Even though the new settlers may not have identified with it – those Aborigines to whom Coogee was home – would have left behind their pain and loss – as Energy  to the extent Coogee WAS their ‘home’. The Land holds such Energies as Heritage – negative as well as positive. Hence ghosts and angels.

The current generation to whom also Coogee is ‘home’ will not usually surface those old Energies. But when they damage the ‘home-value’ of another – be it an Aborigine or later arrival -  who identifies her/himself along Natural pathways (beyond the seen and the known) as an owner of Coogee  - those negative forces invoke themselves. The question is whether such forces were part of the root cause of Bali Bombings?

Bali

[In ancient Bali, nine Hindu sects existed, namely Pasupata, Bhairawa, Siwa Shidanta, Waisnawa, Bodha, Brahma, Resi, Sora and Ganapatya. Each sect revered a specific deity as its personal Godhead.

Inscriptions from 896 and 911 don't mention a king, until 914, when Sri Kesarivarma is mentioned. They also reveal an independent Bali, with a distinct dialect, where Buddhism and Sivaism were practiced simultaneously. ………

Balinese culture was strongly influenced by Indian, Chinese, and particularly Hindu culture, beginning around the 1st century AD. The name Bali dwipa ("Bali island") has been discovered from various inscriptions, including the Blanjong pillar inscription written bySri Kesari Warmadewa in 914 AD and mentioning "Walidwipa". It was during this time that the people developed their complex irrigation system subak to grow rice in wet-field cultivation. Some religious and cultural traditions still practised today can be traced to this period.] Wikipedia

Hindus who believe in their ancestors would naturally invoke the spirit of Hindu Bali. Such force  would manifest Itself through current forms to prevent the damage to those heritage values – when It finds an appropriate medium and when there is need by one of  Its members to make the deeper/root  connection.

Most of us do make such intuitive connections from time to time and most are not conscious of it even later. Usually it’s when we experience deep pain – and do not know ‘why us?’ – that we seek at root level. The Energy that was killed/eliminated  through the Bali Bombing was the anti-Hindu Energy that was damaging the Heritage of Bali. The bodies that died in that war  included the bodies of Heroes – including from Coogee.  To the extent Coogee was their ‘home’ they purified Coogee heritage. One who threw the bomb would have been such a hero if s/he had done so to ‘protect’ the positive heritage of her/his homeland.

Likewise, the bodies that died in the war in Sri Lanka included Heroes to whom that land was ‘Home’. A soldier who killed in the line of duty – believing Sri Lanka to be her/his ‘home’ and believing that the rebel territory was as much her/his home – as her/his home in other part of Sri Lanka through physical residence, was a hero.  Such a hero leaves at that place her/his Energy for all those to whom that land is ‘home’ – now and in the future. Likewise – Rebels and Civilians who died in the war or were physically injured in the war and/or were displaced due to the war.

Where however, that land where the physical killing happened was ‘not home’ to the soldier/rebel – the Energy at that place is negative for the killer and her/his people – now and in the future. If even one person to whom that place is home – due to inheritance and/or merit – is accused as a terrorist / war-criminal – by such a killer and/or her/his descendants – there would be ‘acts of god’ manifesting at that place. We may call them ‘acts of terrorism’ but that would only be limited to current answers to satisfy externals.  

Acts of God need to be identified with and eliminated before any inquiry into war events are undertaken through current measures. Common Laws and Principles help us form a common base on which we receive facts. How much does South Africa have in common with Sri Lanka? In South Africa minorities suppressed majority. Does this mean that the Sri Lankan government is claiming that Tamils suppressed Sinhalese?

Lepers and Tamils

Tonight most Hindus observe Mahasivaraathri (the great night of Lord Shiva). As a child and teenager I also observed this all-night vigil from time to time. That was more physical as per Hindu culture as practiced by those around me. Now, I do most of the physical rituals I learnt from my family – through regular / everyday practices as per my own structures in family, workplace and social services. Today I realized without conscious knowledge that it was Mahasivaraathri – a deep message about the Mind:

1.      Those who identified with and lived in their own Truth – saw themselves through that Truth and had strongly steady mind in any environment.

2.      Those who saw themselves through the minds of their environment – lived harmoniously in that group.

Recently, I read about some Sri Lankans who were isolated due to leprosy finding their own harmony within the leper colony. This to my mind is better than trying to ‘fit’ them into normal society where majority  fear leprosy. Likewise victims of HIV, terrorism and caste labels allocated beyond functional purposes.

 Until we are able to see ourselves, recognize and accept  that we are physically lesser than others it is better for our mind that we live amongst others who are like us. Likewise in terms of Community living. Tamils who are able to see themselves as being partly violent (mental disability) – and accept that comfortably, would take their place in any society and live in Peace. Others who seek external harmony need to see themselves through the minds of others in their environment. Laws help us in this regard. Knowing our environment is important towards this harmony. Devolution is needed for Tamils due to the attribution of Terrorism label through the LTTE.

The Measure used needs to be common and the outcome must confirm it. To majority Tamils LTTE are freedom fighters. To majority Sinhalese Politicians representing their race – LTTE are Terrorists. Judging  the other beyond functional purposes – would lead to mental disorder in the Judge. Hence the need to separate Political minds driven by land  based demarcations, from Judicial minds that need to be Common to all cultures.  

The Sri Lankan Prime Minister the Hon Ranil Wickremesinghe states in his message:

‘It takes much to achieve freedom, co-existence and equality in challenging times – especially when various attempts are underway to force the country back to dark times; with certain elements striving to create racial and religious disharmony, let us make this a momentous occasion to overcome such pettiness and work towards a constructive engagement with all.

I take this opportunity to wish all Hindu devotees in Sri Lanka and the world a happy and a blessed Maha Siva Rathri Day.’

Ravana – the Hindu king of Lanka was a strong worshipper of  Lord Shiva. It is reported that King Ravava established Thirukoneswaram Temple in Trincomalee – where there is a natural harbor. So long as Ravana driven by brawn power - remained within his environment and saw himself through the eyes of his environment – he lived harmoniously. The moment Ravana imagined  himself as part of the higher/wider world – he disturbed the harmony in his environment. Armed forces that defend are legitimate part of good government. Those that attack cause damage to the harmony in their environment.

There are Ravanas in all ethnic groups in Sri Lanka – where the Common Law does not reach rural areas and those from rural environments – to see themselves through the whole of Sri Lanka by using the Common law. The laws as they exist in paper are also often not the common mind of the Sri Lankan.

At this time when the Constitution is being amended – it is important to identify with major cultures – such as those using the brawn like Ravana and those using higher mind through which they see themselves for themselves.

If we are Ravanas and we are driven by the desire to rule the whole – including those who are far higher thinkers than us – then we would keep stealing their structures and positions – as Ravana stole Rama’s wife Seetha. Seetha was not just an individual. Seetha was wife of Rama who inherited Higher Governance from his Raghu dynasty. Such inheritance confirms higher mind order – with ability to see oneself and live within that Truth.

In Sri Lanka, those Hindus who are able to recognize themselves and live within their Truth – are independent Sri Lankans who spread the glory of Sri Lanka – beyond its borders. Those who need cultural pathways through which they would live in harmony – need appropriate ‘privacy’ including through devolution – as lepers have made out for themselves. To the extent Tamils have been painted with the Terrorism brush – they are entitled to this privacy from the rest of Sri Lanka where similar rebellion was accepted as normal crime.

Jaffna Harthaal / Shutdown on 24 February 2016

Which Law Did the Rape Victim have the right to?

‘Vidya’s murder was a revenge killing; CID’ says the Sunday Times of Sri Lanka.

The above report states also:

[With the latest arrest of an individual this week, so far eleven persons have been remanded for the rape and murder of student Vidya Sivaloganathan. The incident received wide publicity over local and international media and also led to public protests in the North.]

Given the claim that this matter received national and international publicity – the applicable law needs to be global and not local. The globalization of the matter happened due to the protests by the Public in Northern Sri Lanka. The rape was reported to have happened on 13 May 2015. The Public – through their protests confirmed that they blamed the Government. It could be the LTTE speaking through the protestors – but that is Jaffna’s reality. The question is who is the root cause and who has the right to give form to that root cause?

As per my experience – Jaffna High Court – does have the capability of surfacing the root cause – provided it has support. Back in 2015, I contemplated  deep into Vidya’s matter – eliminating from the protestors - the school children and others who did not have the right to protest publicly. Public Protests – as per Democracy need to be through members 18 years and above. Only Truth has the right to be published naturally by any person. As a person recognizing the position of Equal Opposition in Parliament for Tamils, I have the DUTY to uphold – the lawful age for Public Protests.

 I believe that this seeking at depth – led me to have the EXPERIENCE – when 14-year old Vavuniya school girl, Gangatharan Harishnavi became the victim on 16 February  2016. I heard the report through a mother – a working mother who also left her son at home while she went out to earn money. The sharing happened through a network of Truth – as per my True investments in Northern Sri Lanka – most of which are far less visible than the investments by other members of the Tamil Diaspora. When I learnt on 24 February  2016 – that there was a Harthaal / Shutdown – including by the Lawyers –I accepted it as Jaffna’s reality – even though our matter listed to be heard by the Jaffna High Court - was adjourned due to the Harthaal. This confirmed that the processes included the Jaffna Public’s feelings also. This is necessary – given that Truth is the basis on which the law is read and understood in the case of ‘rights’. I thus passed the ‘ownership’ test. The Colombo lawyer failed this test, and this is confirmed as follows:

[Mr. Parathalingam PC said in Jaffna High Court on the day of the shutdown,  words to the effect - that he could move to have the matter dismissed with costs against us and that he was agreeing to a postponement under protest. I stated to the Court that given that I had done the substantive work to prepare the first set of Appeal Application, I was ready for the matter to be heard on that day itself. Then Mr. Parathalingam PC said that I would need to revoke the proxy to the lawyer before doing that. I was ready to do that also – as I usually represented myself in Australian Courts which usually facilitated lay litigants to meet the requirements of such technical processes.  The Jaffna Judges decided to adjourn the hearing. The Judge informed the Colombo group also to appreciate that the situation in Jaffna was different to Colombo and emphasized that the lawyers needed to keep in touch with the Jaffna groups.]

Interestingly our Appeal was also about ‘Rights’ – whether a sister who has been continuously supported by a brother and who had received dowry – was entitled to Administrative rights over the brother – where the Customary Law of Thesawalamai was applicable? A Court looking to uphold Truth – would have identified with it – through this direct experience – by observing that the one with Thesawalamai Rights was present and the one claiming those rights due to custody of documents – was absent. The rest is legal frills.

Who is really responsible to uphold the wrongs in the cases of rape? Often one hears ordinary folks say ‘if the Boys were here this would not have happened’. Those who so claim are confessing also to not being interested in the Judicial system at its maximum value - as it has developed in Sri Lanka – supporting the manifestation of Truth in Sri Lanka and thus contributing to the Sovereignty of Sri Lanka. How deep did the CID go? As per the above report:

[Though the magistrate ordered the police to handover the reports of DNA and witnesses, the police did not submit them today when the case was taken up. The magistrate ordered the police to submit all the relevant reports regarding the case in the next sitting which is scheduled for March 18.]

The above confirms that the Administration is not focused on finding the Truth in this case. This in turn weakens the Government’s power in this part of the nation.  A Court may not be able to uphold the Truth in a matter. But even if one participant upholds her/his Truth – through her/his position in Court – that place becomes energized by Sovereign Power which is shared naturally with those genuinely seeking Truth at that place.

Those in Northern Sri Lanka are need to be facilitated to bring out their Truth – preferably without the influence of lawyers. To the extent Protestors are genuine, that place has already produced the right to self-representation – be it in Public Administration or in Court. Often lay litigants tend to use their own social / cultural language to bring out their Truth. Legal Aid needs to be provided to structure it to suit the Administration and / or the  Courts. That would naturally escalate Sri Lankan issues to global standards and we would not need hybrid courts. Law without Truth deteriorates to trading level.

Is Sri Lanka for Sale?

As I watched on Qantas flight to Sydney, the film ‘Truth’ (2015) my mind kept going to Cardinal Pell’s difficulties – especially due to the Media. The question is whether the expression of Truth of one reporter is greater in value than the investment made in a position by millions of People. Truth is absolute and is Sovereign. Truth manifests Itself one way or the other, to maintain Its own Sovereignty and therefore all those who have invested in Truth more than in ‘rights’ in themselves and wrongs in others.

 Does a reporter – (in this instance Mary Mapes of  CBS News) – have the right to manifest what s/he thinks s/he believes to be the  Truth,  to the Public? How does one measure Truth? As they say in Tamil – if one sees the Stone one does not see god and one who recognizes god does not see stone. In this instance one who sees ‘ fact’ does not recognize Truth and v.v. Truth is important for ‘internal’ Peace and fact is important for external harmony. Truth is self-regulating and fact is relative as per the structures/pathways through which such fact is born.

Licensed Media organizations have the duty to ensure that they do not release facts outside their Due Processes – which connect them to each other and to the wider world. When they do release in breach of such principles that lead to ‘Sovereignty’ and it damages the Sovereignty of even one member of the public – such manifestations no longer represent the Truth.

In the above case, the Truth discovered by  CBS News ought to have been through its own Due Processes and until identified with by the American Public – free of particular institutional influences -  it does not become America’s Truth. It could of course be the Truth of CBS News which has the potential to spread Itself to wider Public. Such Natural sharing is often interfered with by the timing of  reports. In the above instance for example, voters would have voted for or against Mr. George W Bush – to the extent they included CBS work one way or the other in their minds. The vote is really for or against CBS and not Mr. Bush – the Politician. Mr. Bush the member of the National Guard, should not be tested through the criteria of the new position – the President of United States of America. In a reliable system, only Truth is carried beyond position boundaries – defined by place and time. When a Presidential Candidate is measured by the past – and the recruiters are allowed to do so – the whole Institution/Nation fails the test of Equal Opportunity and therefore Democracy.

A nation is entitled to harness the Truth of all its People. In Democracy, during voting time – those People are those who make up the current form of the nation and not yesterday’s. Yesterday’s People and their contribution would of course influence from within – but they should not be brought out to be measured through current measures.

Such manifestations of  internal influences of Faith – happened in the case of Sri Lankan Tamils – not once but twice at the Political level. In both instances the Tamil Parties became the Leading Opposition in Parliament – despite being a small minority of the population.

As per my discovery, this happens only when the realized ownership of that Land – is stronger than the claimed ownership.  The latest confirmation came through Trincomalee – through Ceylon Today article ‘Sampanthan’s concern over China’. As per this article:

[Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan who generally speaks on the North and East political and humanitarian issues in his capacity as the Leader of the Tamil National Alliance, for the first time has expressed his concerns over the attempts made by China to have a foothold in Trincomalee with the construction of a coal power plant in Sampur located in the region.

The Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force of Britain identifying the natural harbour of Trincomalee as the best location to build their Naval and Air bases had first named the natural harbour area China Bay.]

To my mind,  the Hon Sampanthan as Leader of the Opposition in National Parliament has the duty to manifest his Truth in this matter on behalf of his electorate and all those opposing the  Government in this issue. This would uphold the democratic rights of all citizens using faith above conscious discriminative thinking. The article reports:

[Apart from the construction of Air and Naval bases in Trincomalee, the British also constructed several giant oil tanks in the region to store fuel for its ships and aircraft. The oil tanks of Trincomalee could even be considered as an engineering marvel.
Being a dignitary born and bred in Trincomalee, Sampanthan, in the backdrop of Sri Lanka and India intending to enhance regional cooperation through an Economic and Technology Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), as the Leader of the Opposition has mentioned about China's attempt on setting up a coal power plant in Sampur area in Trincomalee.

Addressing a group called 'Green Trincomlee' which has launched its protest against the setting up of the coal power plant in Sampur, Sampanthan has said that China was trying to make its presence felt in Trincomalee by setting up the Sampur coal power plant and warned the attempt would create an adverse effect on environment in the region.
Sampanthan also praised the present government for releasing 818 acres of land in the Sampur region, for the people who had been displaced from the area in the past.]

The EQUAL position of Leader of the Opposition when taken in Parliament is confirmation of common belief of half a Sovereign Nation. Truth when manifested at a particular time would divide Itself into two Equal halves. Praising the Government confirms collusion with the government in breach of the Duty of Mr. Sampanthan – the Leader of the Opposition in National Parliament. This could happen when not enough investment has been made in the issue to match the Government. The Government itself could be under ‘influence’ of others outside Sri Lankan mind. If so, that would be the parallel of CBS news interfering with ‘free and fair’ elections.

[As far as regional politics is concerned Trincomalee had been a 'hotspot' when India was first involved in the North and East ethnic issue in the early eighties. When global politics was centred around the 'cold war' between the former USSR and the US, India being a close ally of the former Soviet Union had its concerns over US involvement in the Sri Lankan issue and was eying the British built oil tanks in Trincomalee.]

Often money/tangible property becomes influencing factor in nations where human relationships  are weaker than money based relationships. Money is a good measure of Equality when we translate direct from ownership rights to custody. The question here is – what did Sri Lankans receive as quid pro quo, from all these ‘externals’ ‘taking’ a share in Sri Lankan property through the Government? Property without feelings of ownership leads to Sri Lanka becoming an orphan.

 To me, as a Hindu – Trincomalee is Sri Lankan beyond calculations – due to Thirukoneswaram. It can be shared only with fellow believers. My belief in that small space of Land is of far greater value than idle claims of ‘rights’ – be they by majority or by physical possessors. Truth and therefore faith is not limited by the physical blocks. It communicates Itself from heart to heart.

Cardinal Pell’s Democratic Rights

It happened with Dr. Hollingworth and it’s happening again with Cardinal Pell. The authority to persecute on the basis of past actions/negligence  needs to be limited to the effective time of a structure, common to both parties. The principle of Equal Opportunity  applies Equally to migrants as it does to Traditional Australians. Former facilitates Place based cut off and latter facilitates Time based cut off. To the extent migrants are entitled to use of  current merit basis, Senior Australians born in Australia are also entitled to be measured on current merit basis except in the case of those who directly caused the damage. This was NOT Dr. Hollingworth back then nor Cardinal Pell now. There may be no law to prevent such persecution for past Administrative failures, but the damage to our investment in Democracy needs to be taken into account when making such inquiries public.

As I stated last night, here in Singapore when sharing with a women’s group: -  generation-gap is a strong contributory factor in the slowdown of development work in  Northern Sri Lanka trying to recover from the effects of war. Even though  the war is officially over, young ones – especially those who joined Public Service are unable to get back to the system as it was prior to the war.  Their seniors including within family expect them to ‘behave’ and often leave them  to the authorities when young ones try to have their say – as per their calculation of right and wrong. Most of these seniors did not protest when the Tamil Tigers used their own measures to find fault with community leaders. That negligence is now returning to haunt them. That negligence has become their fate now that the war is officially over.

The parallel  happened in Australia also when children were ‘left’ by their families, in the care of Christian institutions. Whether it is good or bad – today’s Australia carries that karma as part of its genes. It would be unfair for those who did not ‘inherit’ a net negative karma, to activate those genes today – to make them ‘current’ wrongs. Those who did inherit those genes could seek appropriate remedy – but not through the current Public Pathway.  If Institutional leaders are persecuted for Administrative failures then Parents and other family seniors who abandoned their children also need to be persecuted for their contribution to the Administrative failures.

In Hindu culture, we claim that only our Truth in past births is carried by us as our ‘fate’. Those who activate such ‘fate’ through current powers are as wrong as those who do nothing by leaving it all to  fate. Ultimately the individual is responsible for her/his own fate. Only that part that s/he is responsible for is carried by that person. We can override that ‘fate’ through current deeds of goodness – accumulated beyond our position duties. But true justice would not permit the two sides to be brought to face each other through current system.

In Democratic Australia, Cardinal Pell cannot therefore be tried by the current generation enjoying the freedom of  Equal Opportunity systems. It would be wrong to do so – as it would be wrong for Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa to be persecuted  by Sri Lankan war victims in Australia enjoying the benefits of Democratic Australia.

Only the Truth is carried beyond Place and Time borders. In the case of an individual the limit is the body. In the case of Institutions – the limit is the structures of the Administrative systems. When Australia moved out of ‘White Australia Policy’, the old hierarchical system of Administration died. Any persecution through old events, by those who enjoy the ‘freedom’ of Democracy, would damage their own mind-order. The empowerment comes from those of us who quietly endured similar persecution by our seniors – many of whom were younger than us in age. A true Australian would use current merit or choose to remain silent and leave it to the system of Truth and Natural Justice to punish and reward – beyond local borders.

As I advised last night a Chinese-Buddhist – who was struggling between her individual Truth and her position requirements – so long as we need jobs – our duties come first. Beyond our duty we could continue to contribute  but need to ensure that we do not damage our position structure and the larger structure that our position is part of.  This would ensure that we contribute through our feelings rather than thoughts influenced by external forces. This would prevent us from damaging the investment made by others in the system – believing it to be the right one for them until known otherwise. One who knows otherwise would have already settled her/his debt to that Institution/Community / Society. I know I did. The best expression of appreciation from the women’s group last night came in regards to my natural expression ‘I am Australian’ – despite looking ‘Indian’ and claiming Sri Lankan Tamil Heritage. That was an expression of Truth – made AFTER I had settled my dues to the cultural  system of  ‘White-Australia’ from which I also benefited.

We are Lankan Tamils and Not Indian Tamils

As a reader which of the above do I identify with? Most of us read the news to give form to our own thoughts. I believe I write to facilitate others to complete their experiences by recognizing the Truth as the missing link. In this regard I believe that - Manifestations are through the influence of the following:

1.      Hearsay / Copying

2.      Discriminative thinking based on common policy/principle

3.      Truth

Truth when it is stronger than the other two is usually recognized through ‘Acts of God’.

I am currently in Singapore and am thinking about the riots that erupted a couple of years back in Singapore – despite the orderly process that promotes harmony in everyday living. At the center of  riots were Indian workers who became emotional when one of theirs got killed. These were important influences I needed to focus on,  in light of Australian Government’s invitation to contribute to formulating Australia’s Humanitarian Program 2016-2017.  It is also important due to Singapore’s express participation in Sri Lankan policy formation. Indians are Common to Singapore and Sri Lanka. I did not get a parallel invitation from the Sri Lankan Government and hence in Sri Lanka’s case my thoughts were more strongly about how Truth would manifest Itself through strongly emotional actions that the People of Tamil Nadu tend to demonstrate.

The Common Sri Lankan Tamil is writing her/his own feelings about the Sri Lankan experience. No Indian can match that at the level of Truth. Indians would tend to be stronger in terms of cleverness component in Tamil epics but not so in terms of actual experience. If they were – then Jaffna is already part of Tamil Nadu -  thanks including to LTTE Leader who took money from Indian MG Ramachandran – actor turned politician, and also now to Mr. Wigneswaran – judicial leader turned politician - who is asking for India’s intelligence – as if we Lankan Tamils are lacking in such intellectual cleverness.

Emotionally driven Sri Lankan Tamils would tend to be strongly influenced by Indians interested in Sri Lanka. Like 13A – and the buildings out of hasty foreign charity – such quick answers would remain idle until the next emotional outburst. It is therefore  very disappointing that Mr. Wigneswaran would expressly invite India’s input at policy level. Even if it comes it would belong in  Hearsay/Copying category.

Singapore’s assistance is largely in the category of  gerrymandering. This could however be hijacked by minorities in Sri Lanka if the parallel of Lee Kuan Yew were a Tamil.

Truth is the basis of  any lasting solution. Lee Kuan Yew to Singapore is the parallel of Gandhi to India. The form of their contributions suited majority of their respective nations. By character Sri Lanka’s solution would look different to either of these two nations. We need to seek and find our own – however long it may take. When the Truth of that person is greater than the external knowledge – and that Truth looks ‘right’ to that generation – we would be out of the prison of our past attachments and the imaginary world of the future.

Often Truth is ignored when one thinks s/he is victorious. Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution to the Lankan issue was immortalized as part of the Lankan issue due to Lankans becoming the cause of his death. Likewise, the contributions of Tamils who died because they were Sri Lankan Tamils without Government protection – are now immortalized. Relatively speaking those who died in the course of employment – be they part of the rebel groups or the official army – would immortalize their contribution to employment. Where this category is greater than the ‘rights’ category – we are more likely to evolve like Singapore than like India’s Tamil Nadu.

As per the Hindu article ‘Drawing a distinction between Bharathiyar and Vairamuthu, Thavarajah Shanmugam of Switzerland pointed out that while Bharathiyar underwent deprivation and persecution for being a poet of Indian nationalism, Vairamuthu was busy minting money when the Eelam Tamils were being massacred. “Vairamuthu should indulge in some self criticism before taking up the project,” Shanmugam advised.’

Even Bharathiyar a Tamil – did not identify with the need of Lankan Tamils for their own identity. Bharathiyar revealed this by calling Ceylon a ‘Sinhala Island’ in his song ‘Sinthu Nathiyin Misai’.  As per Bharathiyar – a bridge should be built between India and Sinhala Island over Sethu Samuthiram / Ocean.

As for time based connection - during most of the Sri Lankan war - I underwent deprivation and persecution for being an independent minded worker in Australian workforce, upholding my Sri Lankan qualifications as the highest – as per my own experience in both nations. Not many Sri Lankans consider me to be a national level leader. But this I now realize converts into ownership power when we accept that as the maximum possible without violence. This acceptance is also renunciation and takes me naturally to deeper ownership level – to work the system of Truth – to deliver outcomes that would uphold my Truth for me and others who believe in me  to consciously complete our experience and give birth to common value. That then becomes the Policy for all who believe in me and/or are part of my structures – be they in family, workplace or wider society.

I believe that Gandhi’s contribution became Universal due to the gap between the true status he had earned and the status allocated by those with the official responsibility. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew was part of that official team and hence the credit is largely local. Gandhi style works best when the true leader is not part of the official team. Singapore style requires the leader to be strongly intellectually driven and with the ability to expressly teach and tell. May suit Jaffna, provided there is an educated Tamil ready to use the intellectual pathway above the emotional pathway.  Rural Sri Lankan did not suffer loss of dignity under foreign rule, as rural Indian did during Gandhi’s time. Hence Lanka does not need a Gandhi for lasting solution. Those who renounce earned  benefits would naturally contribute to the birth of Gandhi through many bodies. Such bodies would be the custodians of the power of self-dignity of the sovereign person / nation. This needs to be a Lankan body for Sri Lankans and not Indian nor Singaporean. The dignity of a Sri Lankan can be upheld only by a Sri Lankan.
