BIG BROTHER MODI

These days when I Google-search to ensure accuracy – I often come across confirmation that I am in the area of truth that I need. In that area – truth leads us. A simple example happened yesterday. I usually do not wash the toilets on the weekend which is allocated to be with family. But since I had not had time during the week – I did wash the toilets on Sunday. The trades-guy allocated to replace old pipes knocked on the door yesterday. After he left, I felt happy that I had washed the toilets so he had a clean workspace. To my mind it was the truth in my soul that initiated and motivated the washing on Sunday – because my  truth knows that otherwise I would have been upset with myself for not providing a clean toilet for the workman – as clean as I keep the space for our paying-guests. When such manifestations happen, I feel comforted – knowing that my small truth has merged with Big Truth. Big Truth leads us from within and that to me is the Soul power.
It happened again last night - when I heard on TV news that A Buddhist monk had blessed the Sri Lankan President by referring to King Gothabaya. On 20 November 2019, I wrote under the heading – ‘EMPEROR  MODI BECKONS KING GOTABHAYA?’ Hence I felt that I was connecting to the ‘intelligence’ of the Buddhist monks who were supporting Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa. This morning’s search led me to the New York Times article headed ‘‘We Needed a Modi After the Easter Attacks’ by Journalist ‘Kapil Komireddi’ who concludes as follows:

[The location was a declaration of the Rajapaksas’ majoritarian leanings. Blessed by Buddhist monks, Mr. Rajapaksa affirmed his support for their dream of a Buddhist-first Sri Lanka and chided minorities who failed his “expectations” by voting against him. His first act as president was to appoint the prime minister of Sri Lanka: His brother Mahinda Rajapaksa
“We needed a Modi after the Easter attacks,” one of Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s supporters had told me. “Gota is our Modi. He doesn’t think too much. He acts.” The reverence for Mr. Modi, the polarizing Hindu nationalist politician, among Sinhalese reactionaries — was at first puzzling. But their affection, anchored in a shared hostility for Muslims, had a logic to it.
I walked to Colombo’s historic Red Mosque a few hours after Mr. Rajapaksa took the oath as president. Worshipers were spilling out into the rain after saying their evening prayers. Some of them had heard rumors — confirmed later that night — that Tamils suspected of not voting for Gotabaya Rajapaksa were being attacked by Sinhalese men in a nearby province. “They’ll come for us next,” one of them said.]

Those who seek their leader to be like another before her/him or currently of a larger group – are confirming that they are indeed a junior group. They thus make Hindus their senior group.
Every Hindu Sri Lankan who surrenders her/his pain to Hindu form of Divinity – would naturally access the BJP mind. This facilitates continuous  communication between the  two minds – that of the Individual and the true leader of the big group - who in turn would manifest through the apparent leader.
This was how Mr Wickremesinghe’s UNP defeated the Rajapaksas through the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. Mr Harsha Gunasena in his Financial Times article ‘President cannot hold the Defence portfolio’ presents his thinking as follows:
[At the swearing in ceremony the President declared as follows as required by the fourth schedule of the Constitution: “I Gotabaya Rajapaksa do solemnly declare and affirm  that I will faithfully perform the duties  and discharge the functions of the office of the President in accordance with the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the law, and that I will be faithful to the Republic of Sri Lanka and that I will to the best of my ability uphold and defend the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.”

In his address to the nation immediately after that, he said the following: “Today I am meeting you as the executive President, Commander in Chief and the Minister of Defence, who is responsible of the defence of you and your children, of beloved motherland of all of us.”

Therefore, his intention was to keep the Ministry of Defence with him. This intention was against the provisions of the Constitution. Soon after solemnly declaring that he would faithfully perform the duties and discharge the functions of the office of the President in accordance with the Constitution, in his address to the nation he declared his intention to violate the Constitution.

It is advisable to adhere to the Constitution rather than bringing flimsy arguments to defend possible violations of the same. The President’s intention is to create a disciplined nation. Adhering to the Constitution should be the basis of any discipline.

Therefore, it is the foremost duty of the advisors of the President such as Ali Sabry not to mislead him. All of them have mislead Maithripala Sirisena and Mahinda Rajapaksa in October 2018, bringing discredit to both. It is the duty of all of us to adhere to the Constitution rather than trying to violate it.
]

Mr Ali Sabry who is included in my email list had the opportunity know how the Common Sri Lankan Tamil community – committed to law and order - would interpret the Constitutional provisions.  But I was not important enough for him to read and address the issues raised by me. But the true Sri Lankan mind would have heard and identified with it – directly or through the system of Dharma – irrespective of whether the mind was Sinhalese or Tamil by origin. As they say – Great minds think alike.
Mr Gunasena refers to Article 44 (2) of the Constitution as follows:
[The President cannot hold any ministerial portfolio since the previous article 44(2), where the President could keep any number of portfolios with him, was repealed by the Nineteenth   amendment to the constitution.]
The old Article 44 (2) read as follows:
[(2) The President may assign to himself any subject or function and shall remain in charge of any subject or function not assigned to any Minister under the provisions of paragraph (1) of this Article or the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article 45, and may for that purpose determine the number of Ministries to be in his charge, and accordingly, any reference in the Constitution or any written law to the Minister to whom such subject or function is assigned, shall be read and construed as a reference to the President]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Article 44 (1) – prior to the 19th Amendment stated as follows:
[The President shall, from time to time, in consultation with the Prime Minister, where he considers such consultation to be necessary-
(a)  determine the number of Ministers of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministries and the assignment of subjects and functions to such Ministers; and
(b) appoint from among the Members of Parliament, Ministers to be in charge of the Ministries so determined.]

The amended Article 44 (1) reads as follows
[(1) The President may, on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint from among Members of Parliament, Ministers who shall not be members of the Cabinet of Ministers.]

They are now obviously junior ministers.
It is possible  the new President and his Legal Counsel misread article 42(3) which states:
[The President shall be a member of the Cabinet of Ministers and shall be the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers.]
This is also the parallel of Article 4 (b) clearly distinguishes the President from the Parliament in terms of who exercises the People’s power as a whole. As stated before many times  - this cannot be divided and applied to a section of the People.  The divided part does not have the power of Sovereignty. Devolved part does.
Article 9 for example covers minorities’ rights by  including articles 10 & 14(1) (e) and a Buddhist President has the DUTY to ensure that the rights of other religions are granted. The President does not need to be of the other religion by belief but when they claim their rights through due process those rights need to be granted. The Vaddukoddai Resolution 1976 for example empowered this due to Tamils being  covered by 10 & 14(1) (e). The government that had that duty but failed -  lost power in the 1977 elections.

The constitution when used for personal purposes – would become the force of those who have respected it and been true to it. We may interpret it in different ways – but all genuine interpretations would merge at the destination. It is this merged power that the leader of the whole is responsible for and is affected by. They say in Tamil that family of one who draws from the commonwealth – for personal use - is cursed.

I have witnessed this manifestation here in Australia – due to the Chancellor of the University of NSW - connecting to my complaint. Even though I was awarded a ‘fail’ the invisible governing power invoked through the Chancellor resulted in the dismissal of the Vice Chancellor who punished me instead of  hearing me.

To the extent a leader exercises Executive powers within the whole – for example by a minister – s/he dilutes the global power of governance which is the Big Truth mentioned above. Even if One Sri Lankan who connects to the ancestral architects of the Constitution which maintains the Sovereignty of the whole – gets hurt by the President – the President loses power of the People.
PM Modi might become the medium through whom the Hindu power would demote the Buddhist King of Sri Lanka. Emperor takes care of many  kingdoms. Hence Emperor Modi.

SINHALA NATION V SRI LANKAN NATION

Last night when I heard Rev Jegath Gaspar Raj of India’s Tamil Nadu refer to LTTE leader as Thesiya Thalaivar (National Leader) I rejected it and discussed my feelings with a fellow Sri Lankan Tamil. To me I am Sri Lankan Tamil. Within that Umbrella there are Jaffna Tamils, Eastern Tamils,  Upcountry Tamils, Muslim Tamils  and now a new group ‘Eelam Tamils’. Velupillai Prabhakaran was never endorsed by Jaffna Tamils – his home group as their leader. If indeed we had so endorsed him – majority would have followed his leadership in 2005 and not voted in the recent Presidential Elections. By participating in the voting process we confirmed the choice of Political Pathway as our preferred pathway. All those who did vote are Sri Lankan Tamils.
I do however appreciate that to the group recognized as Eelam Tamils, Velupillai Prabhakaran is their National leader. Nationhood could be as small as One house or in this instance - as big as the Indian subcontinent. One who has attained Nationhood would not enforce her/his nation on others nor tempt or force members of other Nations to join her/his nation.  The test is that one will find the returns for her/his work from her/his nation.
It was therefore unpleasant to receive the following response to my article headed ‘SINHALESE ARE RESPONSIBBLE FOR WAR CRIMES’ – from someone I considered to be Sri Lankan:

[Dear sender;
Please be careful when you attempt to generalize people ... I am VERY PROUD to be a SINHALESE and consider ALL RACES EQUAL as SRI LANKANS, please don't create unnecessary problems by publishing JUNK like this.
You will be added to my JUNK SENDERS if you circulate any further RACIAL HATRED to me.

My response was as follows:
[You may name yourself to be Sri Lankan. But are you really Sri Lankan? I believe I am. Hence  when President Gotabaya Rajapaksa declared that he was leader of Sinhala Buddhist – I felt hurt that my franchise was being used to promote a part within Sri Lanka. That to me was like the Commonwealth demoting itself to the state of Victoria.  This is also the issue with the position of Defence Minister which Mr Rajapaksa cannot hold because he is responsible for the whole of Sri Lanka. I have no knowledge of you protesting to prevent the demotion by the President.  You had the choice to write to this group – giving your interpretation.  . You accept separation – and you pass that on to your heirs. During the Face the Nation program on 11 November  - I got the message that you sought to pass on a better Sri Lanka to the next generation. May be you would pass on a better Sinhala Nation if you are true to yourself. I will pass on a purer Sri Lankan Nation to my heirs.  You would be confirming this separation by listing me as a junkie Tamil
Gajalakshmi]
Later this morning a Sri Lankan Tamil did forward the following to confirm how the British leaders are reading the need of the Tamil Community under the new regime :
UK: Breaking News:
Conservative party offers two-state solution for Tamils. - https://www.facebook.com/groups/TNAseythi/permalink/2680764245324822/

Support for Tamils – expressed by the Hon Jeremy Corbyn

Not every Sinhalese was responsible for what was caused by the Army nor every Tamil for the damage caused by the LTTE. But as per Democracy – since majority Sinhalese voted for the current President – they have endorsed what happened during the war. Sri Lankans cannot accept responsibility for war crimes – whether they were by the LTTE under the leadership of Eelam Leader or the Sinhala Army under the leadership of the current President who claims to represent  Sinhala-Buddhists only. Every Sinhala-Buddhist who fails to oppose that claim – is not yet  Sri Lankan.
This is the war-crimes trial in the Court of Natural Justice. That is how Dharma delivers the Ultimate Verdict.

THE FIRST TEST-INTERPRETING THE CONSTITUTION

The Sunday Times article headed ‘No Defence Minister still; new President faces constitutional conundrum’ caught my attention today. It was about whether the New President could hold the position of Minister of Defence – which was held by the immediate past President who was more a transitional President. The conflict is highlighted as follows:
[President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appears restrained by a constitutional conundrum on whether he can take on the portfolio of Defence Minister.
As President, the Constitution makes him the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, but the 19th Amendment arguably prohibits him from holding a ministry. In the 15-member caretaker cabinet that has been appointed there is no Defence Minister included, but on Friday, the President issued a Gazette keeping the tri-forces to assist the police in maintaining law and order under the Public Security Ordinance.]
The issue was discussed at citizens level and was published – which Mr Rajapaksa would have accessed if he had been really seeking. May be he was and hence the delay. On 14 November 2019 – I wrote and published as follows under the heading ‘EXECUTIVE PRESIDENCY AND DUAL CITIZENSHIP’ :

Article 4 of the Sri Lankan constitution states as follows:
[4. The Sovereignty of the People shall be exercised and enjoyed in the following manner :–
(a) the legislative power of the People shall be exercised by Parliament, consisting of elected representatives of the People and by the People at a Referendum ;
(b) the executive power of the People, including the defence of Sri Lanka, shall be exercised by the President of the Republic elected by the People ;
(c) the judicial power of the People shall be exercised by Parliament through courts, tribunals and institutions created and established, or recognized, by the Constitution, or created and established by law, except in regard to matters relating to the privileges, immunities and powers of Parliament and of its Members, wherein the judicial power of the People may be exercised directly by Parliament according to law ;]
The People means – one undivided whole. As per the above – a lower reading may lead to the thinking that the Parliament and its Members could interfere with the Judiciary – as per (c ) above.
[On 14 November 2018 - Dr Palitha Kohona – a dual citizen - stated as follows at a press conference organized by Eliya Organisation in the aftermath of the Constitutional crisis:
[Finally for those who lament the disruption of the democratic processes and institutions, given the lack of consensus and the impasse the country had reached, the best option was to go to the people and let the people decide. Many would argue that this was the cleanest option under the Constitution. That is the essence of democracy. If the elected representatives, and many in Parliament are appointed not elected, had reached an impasse and the actions of the President were being questioned, the ideal solution would be to go back to the people and let them decide. That is what is being done. A similar situation arose in Australia in 1975. The Prime Minister was sacked by the Governor General. The replacement PM recommended dissolution of Parliament and went on to win the election that followed.]

Given that Dr Kohona was posted to the Australian Permanent Mission in UN Geneva – one would expect Dr Kohona to have some understanding of the above mentioned crisis and how the Constitution of Australia was structured in this regard. Section 61 of the Australian Constitution states as follows:
[Executive power
The executive power of the Commonwealth is vested in the Queen and is exercisable by the Governor-General as the Queen's representative, and extends to the execution and maintenance of this Constitution, and of the laws of the Commonwealth.]
The Sri Lankan parallel of the Queen is the President. ]

As per today’s Sunday Times article :
[Ali Sabry, PC, one of President Rajapaksa’s lawyer’s told the Sunday Times, that defence was clearly with the President under the Constitution’s Article 4(b) which reads: “The executive power of the People, including the defence of Sri Lanka, shall be exercised by the President of the Republic elected by the People”.
“That was not changed by the 19th Amendment,” Mr Sabry said.]
Article 4 (b) is about Executive Power of  the whole of Sri Lanka. Ministerial powers are on behalf of the Government only.
The article confirms that one of the  architects of the 19th Amendment has confirmed my interpretation:
[But Jayampathy Wickramaratne, MP, one of the key shapers of the 19th Amendment, insisted that the President could not hold any ministerial portfolio. He said 4 (b) refers to the “overall defence” of the country. He cited Article 43(2) to support his position. It states: “The President shall on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint from among Members of Parliament, Ministers, to be in charge of the Ministries so determined”. He said Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa was not a Member of Parliament.]
Mine was a lay person’s interpretation in the consciousness that we were moving away from Executive Presidency and as per my Australian interpretation. Dr Jayamapathy Wickramaratne has confirmed it in legal language.
The position of the new President brings to mind the saying -  ‘Man proposes and god disposes’.
This is only the beginning.

SINHALESE ARE RESPONSIBBLE FOR WAR CRIMES

Until the recent Presidential Elections in Sri Lanka – many of us Tamils blamed the government for the suffering of civilians  during the war. But now we have been proven wrong through the elections in which majority participants in Sinhalese areas have endorsed the ‘Sinhalese war hero’. This means that they themselves committed those acts.

Whatever was done to the armed militants is between soldier to soldier. Even there, the Tamil militants confirmed higher civilization in terms of sexual urges. Sinhalese soldiers demonstrated primitive behavior through rape and disrespectful exposure of naked bodies of women like Shoba – known as Isai Priya (Lover of Music). A true Buddhist would not have done that.

By specifically thanking the Sinhala-Buddhist voters – the new President confirmed that he acknowledged that they – these voters - were his driving force when he was Defence Secretary. If not – he would have been defeated in the recent elections. I was disappointed with some individuals who expressed support for Mr Gotabhaya Rajapaksa through his presentation of financial plan. I got to know them at the Sri Lankan Reconciliation Forum, Sydney. By supporting Mr Rajapaksa they revealed that they were not eligible to be part of the Reconciliation group – working towards commonness here in Sydney.

This morning I received an email from a Tamil Diaspora leader – referring Senator Payne and I - to the article headed ‘Fear and Security Swing Sri Lanka Vote.’ by University of Melbourne – at https://pursuit.unimelb.edu.au/articles/fear-and-security-swing-sri-lanka-vote

I identify with the essence of the message. When there were rumours that the Easter Bombings were strongly influenced by politicians I did not identify with it. But during the period preceding elections – I wrote strongly in favour of UNP and the Tamil votes confirmed to me that my belief had worked. When we truly care we place ourselves in the other. That is how the power of belief spreads exponentially.

The above article presents the Sinhala-Buddhist leader as follows:
[Gotabaya billed himself as the only candidate able to secure the state. He ignored the vote of the Tamil and Muslim minorities and played almost exclusively to the nationalist sentiments of the Sinhalese Buddhist majority who comprise 75 per cent of the population.]

The above was confirmed also by Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa himself when he took his oaths at Anuradhapura in front of  Ruwanwelisaya – a Buddhist monument built by Sinhala king Dutugemunu after he defeated Tamil emperor Ellalan. One however wonders whether some of our messages about Kotte elephant rampage being a bad omen were heard by Mr Rajapaksa. They would have been to the extent of common belief – including through Lord Muruga. I wrote as follows in this regard on 13 September 2019, under the heading ‘Is Australia by Aid to Sri Lanka -  a  Buddhist Country ?’:
[ In Sri Lanka – even at policy level – we are NOT common – because of ‘Buddhism foremost’ article in the Constitution – which is the big elephant in Kotte Parliament.  That elephant was ‘forgotten’ by the law makers but the Elephant did not forget the law-makers. It showed its powers against Buddhist-glamour through attacks on those to whom the elephant was less than sacred. The other side of a Hindu who does believe – through Lord Ganesh – manifested  in a place where the elephant was treated as being less than ordinary Buddhist – Jayawardenepura – Kotte where the Parliament is housed. I prayed at Nallur for commonness – and the way was indicated by the Kotte elephant.]
And also on 11 September under the heading – ‘Believing Minorities  needed to  Prevent 9/11 type of Attacks’

[The Kandy Esala Perahera (the Sri Dalada Perahera procession of Kandy) also known as The Festival of the Tooth is a grand festival celebrated with elegant costumes and is held in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. ………………The Kandy Esala Perahera begins with the Kap Situveema or Kappa, in which a sanctified young Jackfruit tree (Artocarpus integrifolia) is cut and planted in the premises of each of the four Devales dedicated to the four guardian gods Natha, Vishnu, Katharagama and the goddess Pattini. Traditionally it was meant to shower blessing on the King and the people.]
According to the above - gods Natha ( Shiva ), Vishnu, Katharagama (Muruga) and Pattini (Holy Mother) – are protectors. To Hindus they are fundamental forms of Belief.  Like reliance in horoscopes, those who ‘convert’ without belief - tend to carry their past in the background. In the above – Hindu deities have been made ‘juniors’ to Buddha.]

Belief  is a continuous connection and belief in a higher power is continuous pleading/prayer.  One form of belief should not be made junior to another form even when within the same religion. This is so to confirm the Sovereignty of Belief. Likewise one electorate in relation to another.
In Kilinochchi – where the Tamil Tigers had their Headquarters – 67% voted – and this confirmed participation in political pathway – confirming successful leadership within the Tamil community. Mr Rajapaksa got only 3% of the votes in Kilinochchi. How can he be their president by belief? To be their President he needs to consciously use the common  pathway of intellectuals – especially Sri Lankan intellectuals. All those who give form to their belief based knowledge through Sri Lankan form are Sri Lankans.  The authors of the article ‘Fear and Security Swing Sri Lanka Vote.’ are Sri Lankan to the extent they believe in the subject matter.

Mr Rajapaksa may have won through majority vote. But given his disorderly performance as Sri Lankan – those who voted for him confirm that they are also Sinhala-Buddhist extremists. This includes Australians who expressly supported him by giving his form to their own areas of belief. They increase Australia’s extremism risk which may come in the form of Muslims from neighbouring Indonesia. It would be unwise of the Australian government to ignore these early warnings.
The Easter Bombings happened due to the war-crimes Energy / Sin remaining in Sri Lanka. It was generated by those who desired a win for themselves by risking civilians. So long as Tamils keep giving preference to celebrating war-heroes above civilians who were desperate and whose plight was communicated by Tamils in the war zone as well as some Sinhalese soldiers – they dilute the Energy channelled towards political solutions. Celebrations of war-heroes confirms the desire to continue with the war. They are confirmed to be only 3% to 4% in Northern Sri Lanka. Diaspora Tamils have to also first remember the agony of the Tamil victims and BEFORE they find fault with the government. Those who support armed militants are an independent group to those of us who have resorted to other non-violent pathways. To the extent we believe in our sovereignty we would continuously connect and empower each other.

The  UN staff who were asked to leave the war zone expressed pain in abandoning their duty to civilians. But their true spirit / feelings worked through those who were appreciative of their services and wanted them to prevent future sufferings by others. THAT confirms the real success of their work.

Each time the past is invoked for current benefits – both sides of the Energy manifest. Hence the Muslim extremism earlier this year. The root cause is truth. Each time the Sri Lankan politicians invoked war victory for political gain – they invoked also its loss. The form was Muslim this time. Until the root is found and eliminated – this would continue. Fear follows Desire. By failing to look within – as Buddha would have – Sinhalese desirous of welfare security produced themselves through Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa. If minorities stay away – then the desire and fear would manifest within the Sinhala community itself. This was already confirmed during the latter part of the previous Rajapaksa regime. So far there have been strong indicators that the new President would do likewise. As we sow so shall we reap. Tamils need to continue to sow and nurture Peace – starting with themselves as individuals and members of family. The rest happens automatically . That is the way of Sovereignty.

TWO NATIONS - WITH BELIEF IN SRI LANKA AS THE AXLE

Today is the birth Anniversary of Swami Sathya Sai Baba. When I write articles and my attention is drawn to a particular source that confirms my view, I believe that I am connected to that ancestry. Swami provided such support on 05 November 1998 when I was in deep pain after resigning from my position as head of Finance within the Faulty of Medicine at the University of NSW – after hearing racially separatists statements by Ms Pauline Hanson.  The psychologist to whom I was directed by my legal team wrote as follows in her report:

CLINICAL ISSUES

Mrs. Paramasivam acknowledged that for several years she had been in communication with a range of people including Yoga Swami, Our Lady and Sai Baba the leader of an Indian Religious Group. She told me that Sai Baba was a saint and on the 5 November 1998 red powder materialized on her picture of him. She interpreted this as meaning that he was in communication with her and felt that it was a miracle, a sign of his love for society.

She said that Sai Baba was able to anticipate her thoughts and she felt comforted by this and said that she had experienced an intuitive relationship with Sai Baba and her communication with him had continued to this day. She described the communication as a “blissful state” it felt as if she did not have a  care in the world. She acknowledges that her current charges did not concern her because of the comfort she received from Sai Baba and said that he was the only one whose opinion counted with her.

05 November was significant in that it was on that day that the Auditor General’s report confirming my criticism of the Financial Management system of the University of NSW was published by the Sydney Morning Herald.  One of the staff who was trained by me  - informed me. I gradually realised that the system of Truth was supporting me to be an independent Opposition of the management that was senior by age and colour.
This morning, I thanked Swami for being there for me even when I was not a devotee of Swami. The University Administration failed me by using their own internal measures. The Human Rights Commission did identify with my pain but they failed to ‘show’ that outcome in their final decision. The Courts dismissed my complaints as per their own thoughts. At the time the Kungkumum (red holy powder)  materialized – I did not know that this was going to be the case. Now I realize that Swami brought me under His influence – so I would not suppress my pain and with it my truth. My pain was valuable because it was due to the damage caused to ethnic relationships in Australia. The pain happened because I had invested in the higher order by reducing my true status. But truth would not let me. Not identifying with what was happening caused me the pain. The miracle helped me feel that someone somewhere had received my service.
This morning this ‘support’ happened again – when a journalist of global standards who read my book ‘Naan Australian’ responded to me as follows in regards to my article ‘SRI LANKA WAS USED BY SINHALA EXTREMISTS’:
[A good article and well argued. I totally agree with the last para.  Ranil's contribution was substantial and not understood by many.]
Not one Sri Lankan by name expressed  identity with my message. A global investor in Sri Lanka  did.

It reminded me of the song by Poet Kannadasan - ‘Paramasivam Kaluthil Irunthu Paambu Kettathu – Garuda Soukyama? (the snake sitting around Lord Shiva’s neck asked ‘Garuda Are you well?)’
Garuda is the king of birds who eats evil creatures and is usually - the enemy of snakes (creatures without backbone). Garuda is the vehicle of Lord Vishnu the Preserver / the Son in the Hindu  Holy Trinity. Hence the mocking question. The Sri Lankan parallel in terms of the UNP is Sajith Premadasa – the Presidential candidate asking Ranil – whether Ranil was well?

In the above mentioned song – Poet Kannadasan says in terms of family – ‘that the cart needs only two wheels of equal height for it to be functional. If one is short no cart would move. Likewise,  groups that are of different heights’

In terms of family, the two wheels are mother and father. It is to maintain this equality that Hinduism attributes the status of the female as ‘Shakthi’/Energy which confirms exponential power. The most visible power is linear.

In terms of Sri Lankan politics – apparent minorities are often taken at their linear value by those who rely on majority vote. If Buddhism is taken at its apparent value – then all Buddhists who claim so must become celibates.  The Daily Mirror report ‘Sajith was too hasty to contest the presidency: Ven. Dhammissara Thera’ confirmed that there  was at least one such power :

[While claiming that UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa was too hasty to have contested the presidential election, Eksath Bhikku Peramuna Secretary Ven. Bopitiye Dhammissara Thera said he could have easily won it if he had contested the presidential election after another five years. ]

I have also confirmed the essence of this through my recent articles. Out of the two – Premadasa is the shorter wheel as Prbhakaran was to Mr Sampanthan. From time to time the taller ones do shorten their heights to be in harmony with the younger generation which is usually restless and desires to produce and ‘show’ immediate outcomes. A more mature LTTE supporter wrote as follows under the heading ‘The Tamil curse will continue.’:

The new cabinet of Rajapaksas are back in business. The Tamils and the Muslims in the North and East unanimously voted, in the recent election, against these 'war criminals' who massacred them in the last ten years. There is no Muslims in the Cabinet ( they are united ). But there are 'traitors' in the Tamil Community always ready to join whatever the government comes to power. … ( what happened to the Tamil traitor in the East ? - no Chairs ? )

My response to the above went as follows:

[The vote against Rajapaksas was also the vote against Karuna. But within their camps he is nobody. THAT is his punishment.]

Buddhism is also used by Sinhalese politicians when Buddhist monks shorten their height. The parallel in Tamil Nadu is politicians shortening their height to woo the cinema crazy voter.  But in both instances they ‘forgot’ to climb back to their original apparent  heights – confirming that they did not earn that true status.

Both Presidential candidates in 2019 - used the name of Buddhism in their claim to Presidential power. The one who won 53% out of those who voted seems to be the winner. If that is true then as per the picture that has evolved – with Mr Rajapaksa claiming that he won due to Sinhala-Buddhist votes – then Tamils & Muslims have confirmed the existence of a separate nation.
The ‘invisible’ connector in the above song is the axle. This axle is the common belief. Two equals need belief  in a common system for them to function. Sri Lankan Nation  is that axle that connects the two extremists. The heirs of Sri Lankans is the least visible group in currently visible  Sri Lankans. Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe is one part of that  axle.

The Gordian Knot that Alexander the Great cut into two was to keep the yoke of the ox-cart tied to the Post. The yoke that kept the two oxen moving in unison is the parallel of the axle of the axle that kept the cart moving. The post to which the yoke was tied – was the ‘tradition’ that kept one at home. As per the prophesy – one who untangled the Gordian Knot would rule over Asia. But Alexander took the easier way out and cut it. To my mind, this led to his men losing faith when they reached the sacred Ganges river in the Indian Subcontinent and Alexander’s  men feared the war elephants on the other side.

The Sri Lankan parallel is Mr Gotabhaya Rajapaksa  cutting the multicultural knot of Sri Lanka and claiming victory as if he has conquered the whole. It is highly likely that the Jaffna River at Elephant Pass would be the turning point. Ruwanweli Maha Seya where the new President took his oaths – may confirm the spirit of King Dutu Gemunu. But Anuradhapura is also the place where Tamil Emperor Rajaraja Cholan defeated Mahinda V – king of Anuradhapura.

NO OPPOSITION FOR THE  LANKAN PRESIDENT

When Mr Sajith Premadasa declared himself as the Presidential candidate – he effectively retired from the legislature and the Judicial Executive   of the People – represented by Parliament. This is clearly set out as follows under Article 4 of the Constitution :

[4. The Sovereignty of the People shall be exercised and enjoyed in the following manner :–
(a) the legislative power of the People shall be exercised by Parliament, consisting of elected representatives of the People and by the People at a Referendum ;
 (b) the executive power of the People, including the defence of Sri Lanka, shall be exercised by the President of the Republic elected by the People ;
(c) the judicial power of the People shall be exercised by Parliament through courts, tribunals and institutions created and established, or recognized, by the Constitution, or created and established by law, except in regard to matters relating to the privileges, immunities and powers of Parliament and of its Members, wherein the judicial power of the People may be exercised directly by Parliament according to law ]

Now that he has lost that bid – he is not entitled to become the Prime Minister’s Opposition.
The Colombo Page report headed ‘ Speaker says UNP should resolve emerging crisis about Opposition Leader post’ states as follows:

[The UNP has sent two letters to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya requesting the post of opposition leader.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has received a letter from UNP General Secretary MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam requesting the appointment of former Prime Minister and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Leader of the Opposition.
A letter has been sent by UNP General Secretary MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam requesting that Ranil Wickremesinghe be appointed as the Leader of the Opposition. The Speaker's Media Unit stated that only Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has signed the letter.
The Speaker has received another letter with the signatures of 40 UNP MPs asking him to appoint Deputy Leader of the UNP Sajith Premadasa as the Leader of the Opposition.
Expressing his views, at the meeting of Parliamentary Affairs Committee headed by party leaders this morning, the Speaker has said that the selection of the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament was not within the purview of the Committee on Parliamentary Business and it is an internal matter that needs to be resolved within the UNP parliamentary group.
The Speaker noted that according to parliamentary tradition, the leader of the parliamentary group of the political party with a majority of opposition members is recognized as the Leader of Opposition.]

If UNP chooses Mr Premadasa over Mr Wickremesinghe – UNP  is highly likely to lose the minority votes in the Parliamentary elections.  So far, most Tamils known to me recognize UNP in its current form with Mr Wickremesinghe as the leader. This was confirmed by Tamil National Alliance under the leadership of the Hon Sampanthan. It is a policy level integration between UNP and TNA for which TNA has received some flak from younger political activists . Tamils are yet to witness Mr Premadasa in that senior position.

Mr Premadasa also promised to promote Buddhism and that did not go down well with minorities. Then there was that promise to ‘give’ sanitary pads as if women were juniors needing pampering. Both of these have naturally demoted him to the position of backbencher.  As per the picture of Mr Wickremesinghe as political leader – he is far more mature than any other member of the UNP active in politics. The minority votes during Presidential Elections were for UNP under Mr Wickremesinghe’s leadership. It would be unwise to lose that vote base.
