Vaccine Politics

Last evening when we heard on the news that those of us who have had AstraZeneca with a shorter interval than 12 weeks would need a booster – I felt annoyed and said to my husband that they must have excess stock now. That was intuition.  This morning I received an email headed ‘NIH Admits to Funding Gain-of-Function Research in Wuhan’ from a person I trust. I responded as follows: ‘Thank you for the valuable sharing which confirms my intuitions in this regard’

This person wrote also in response to my article ‘Same Rights or Equal Opportunity for Tamils?’:

[Thank you, Gaja. Your political acumen is admirable. At present, the Tamil leadership is mediocre at best, lacking both foresight as well as hindsight (lessons learnt from history). There is a submergence of logic in favour of emotion. The British were able to rule the world by their capacity to remain cool, calm and collected. Emotional shortsighted reactions can be very detrimental to the people being served. 

Pride too leads to many hasty decisions.

What we need is a Tamil leader who uses logic, patience, stoicism, wisdom, human values, ability to tame emotions of hatred and anger to prevent impulsive decisions, skill at developing rapport to enable achievement of the best results in dialogues, as well as spiritual knowledge, putting the safety of his/her people uppermost in all decisions. Should be unselfish, self effacing, and not needing any limelight to guide the Tamils to an everlasting peace. Humility would be a strength.

Is the SriLankan Tamil culture capable of producing such a leader? I have met many Tamils who have a sterling character.

I responded as follows:

[My answer is ‘yes we have produced many such leaders’ – including yourself. But majority are not in Politics. Outsiders read us through our politicians.

During my early days with the folks in Thunaivi, I intuitively declared that I was an Administrator and not a politician. Back then, I did not calculate . Later I felt that our dedication to our family temple intuitively empowered me. To your email headed ‘NIH Admits to Funding Gain-of-Function Research in Wuhan’ I responded ‘Thank you for the valuable sharing which confirms my intuitions in this regard’. Last evening when we heard on the news that those of us who have had AstraZeneca with a shorter interval than 12 weeks would need a booster – I felt annoyed and said to my husband that they must have excess stock now. That was intuition. Your email gave the logical connection. Shortening the ‘gap’ was political. So is the ‘booster’ proposal.

As a lay person – I was driven by my own experience. I found fault with the clinic that gave me the shots when they did not inform me on time that they had to adjourn due to power outage. I feel that I thus strengthened the Due Processes which to me are the Energy of those from whom we inherited the Administrative structure. This Administrative structure is ‘Common’ to all. Politics is divided subjectively.

By stating that I was an Administrator I bypassed politics which is strongly driven by emotions in that village. Now I am taken as a Natural Governor of Thunaivi. It is therefore easy to work that system through mutual trust. Towards this – the leader needs to place her/himself in the people. The rest happens in due course of time.

It is the consolidated power of all such governors that really works the system provided we do not get distracted by benefits on the way]

According to my discovery, due processes that stand the test of time and place changes – are exponential governance powers. To the extent the pandemic happened due to negligence of politicians who falsely elevate themselves to governing positions, it was not a medical problem but a governance problem. Those of us who take/accept junior positions to such leaders automatically balance the system. Hence I wrote to the Premier about my experience. If there had been genuine response from the Premier the political excesses would have been offset by my positive energy in administration including in medical administration – which punished me by listing me as a mentally ill person. By opposing it through my own assessment of myself, I accumulated positive energy in medical governance. I exercised my right to express my belief about myself. By ignoring me – the administration at the time Mr Bob Carr was Premier accumulated negative Energy in health Governance. I believe, that like places, positions also can be sacred due to positive Energy or haunted due to Negative Energy. The way to cure the latter is to include positive energy citizens as part of oneself.

Dr Chandran’s email included the following in regards to NIH funding:

[Gain-of-function research involves extracting viruses from animals and artificially engineering them in a laboratory to make them more transmissible or deadly to humans.

Dr. Richard Ebright, biosafety expert and professor of chemistry and chemical biology at Rutgers University, had previously rebutted Fauci’s claim that the NIH “has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology [WIV]” as “demonstrably false.”]

As per Yahoo news:

[The National Institute of Health (NIH), the government agency that is responsible for biomedical and public health research, has said that it funded virus-enhancing coronavirus research, after denying the claim for months. It should be noted that Covid-19 is a type of coronavirus and the coronavirus that was reportedly altered, is not Covid-19.]

 

On 21 July, our NHMRC wrote as follows on ‘Gain of Function Research Review’:

[Background

“Gain of function” is a term used to describe a change to any organism through any process that causes it to acquire a new function. Certain gain of function experiments have raised concerns because of their potential to increase the danger posed to humans by an infectious agent, such as a virus. These concerns have been heightened by uncertainty about the origin of the SARS-CoV-2 virus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic and suggestions that the SARS-CoV-2 virus may have been created in a laboratory as the product of gain of function research.

The Minister for Health and Aged Care, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, has asked the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) to undertake a review of gain of function research in Australia.

Purpose

The purpose of the review is to report to the Minister on:

·       the definition of gain of function research, with particular reference to research of this nature that could pose a threat to human health

·       any gain of function research that could increase the harmfulness of an infectious agent to humans that has been funded or conducted by the Australian Government or its agencies over the last 10 years

·       the regulatory framework that controls such research in Australia, and how it compares with frameworks in other relevant countries.

Timeframe

The review will report to the Minister in December 2021.]

 

When Due Process was not effectively followed by our Medical clinic on 20 July and I had to wait a long time, I accepted it and accumulated intuitive sense regarding the politics of vaccine. Later when it got worse on 02 September I wrote to the Premier. I got the appointment for the second doze after the government shortened the mandatory interval between the two dozes. Now I realise that the NHMRC already had the intelligence on ‘Gain of Function’ and therefore the strength of effectiveness of the vaccine. We still do not know but when we do what we can to prevent the exponential  spread – it is a governance contribution. For his part Dr Chandran concludes as follows:

Sars Cov2 virus has never been found existing naturally in any bats / animals.

A ploy to make money from expensive vaccines that work only for a short time needing repeated boosters?

Or is it a more extensive plan to bankrupt poorer countries and control them through loans for vaccines?

Same Rights or Equal Opportunity for Tamils?

“Everyone must admit that Tamils have the same rights as everyone else in Sri Lanka. The North and East of Sri Lanka are the homelands of the Tamils.” – Mr Wigneswaran

Given that the narrator is Mr Wigneswaran, it cannot be a language error. Is it therefore an error of law? Or Ignorance of Natural Law?

The best way I can think of explaining this to my service group in Northern Sri Lanka is through the legend of Nakeerar who said to Lord Shiva ‘Even if the Lord opens the third eye  - a fault is a fault. The question there was whether the hair of a woman had natural scent? As per Lord Shiva the answer was yes. But Royal Poet Nakeerar said there was Error of Fact in the response. When Lord Shiva asked him whether according to him – even divine ladies’ hair did not have natural scent, Nakeerar said that their hair also did not have natural scent. Then as per the legend, Lord Shiva opened His third eye and the sparks burnt Nakeerar. My interpretation of this is that the hair of Divine women had natural scent – felt through one’s inner consciousness – which is the parallel of insight. When we go into virtual reality – that is the experience we have. When therefore Lord Shiva opened His third eye that was exactly the message about Divinity which we become conscious of when we burn our body consciousness.

On that basis, I quote the following from my recent work:

[Our logic varies as per our personal culture and/or as per our environmental culture. Those driven by visible effects make weak mind-connections. The subjective system does not work very well for them. To the extent they are strongly driven by their own personal laws they would tend to be self-sufficient.

As opposed to the personal law, there is the Common law. This Common law is reliable to the extent the makers sacrificed to become common. Such sacrifices  naturally elevate the law to be of a higher level than the sum of the values of the personal laws of individuals in that environment. In Parliament for example, where all are mere representatives of their People – the laws made in Parliament through majority vote also would be at that level. It would be simple average of the total of all those who voted for it. But where some sacrificed benefits at the higher level, to become equal to the average, it automatically elevates the value. The sacrifice becomes the invisible root that supports the visible structure and the processes and laws that connect one part of the structure to another. When laws are made on the basis of sacrifices, they spread themselves exponentially. Their value is geometric average until it becomes infinity and is invisible. ]

Rights are invisible. We advise others of our rights through our actions. Through the war, the Tamil Army with its own rules  has demonstrated that it considers itself as Equals to Sinhala army. That group also has matched ‘Sinhala only’ with Tamil only’ .

At law making level, have Tamils presented a bill in National Parliament to claim equal rights as Buddhists – in North and East and in areas where majority are Hindus ? To have equal rights as Buddhists – is that not needed? In the absence of such a claim we are by effect accepting junior status or that there are two nations – one for Buddhists and another for Non-Buddhists.

To identify with this – one needs insight into Natural Law which continuously balances itself.

Me Wigneswaran associated himself with armed groups which interpreted Vaddukoddai Resolution as claim of Separate state known as Tamil Eelam. At that level – we Tamils are juniors to majority race – Sinhalese. It is when we feel Equal as per Natural law – that the rights have been earned. Combined with benefits – Rights are known as Opportunities. Hence Equal Opportunity laws. Did Mr Wigneswaran introduce such laws when he was Chief Minister of Northern Province? Has Mr Wigneswaran made up a constitution that includes these articles – which could then be a model for other provinces and eventually for the Nation of Sri Lanka?

Wishful thinking does not become law in a civilized community.

Birthday Present to Mr Wigneswaran

 

Happy Birthday to Mr CV Wigneswaran.

I remember because it is also our lawyer daughter’s birthday. More importantly at community level – it is the birthday of Mr Jeevarasa – son of Pushparasa of Thunaivi – a toddy tapper village. When I learnt that Mr Wigneswaran’s birthday was also on 23 October, and I wished him – he responded immediately. But with time the responses did not come. In the case of Jeevan who was born in the same year as my daughter – he rang me today to get my blessings. After my class with Royal College student from Hambantota – at 5 to 5.30 am Sri Lankan time,  I opened my emails.

So, what was the reason as per my belief that Tamil Diaspora leader Mr Rajendra Vinasithamby referred me on this special day the discussion at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egNIMyu8YUA. That discussion was by IBC London with Tamil Eelam politician Mr Sivajilingam. At first I could not work out the connection between that discussion and my article dated 25 September, headed ‘Martyr or Fighter – Nallur Enlightens’. But later the penny dropped when I read the heading under which it had been presented - முதலமைச்சர் வேட்பாளர் ஆகிறாரா

சிவாஜிலிங்கம்? சுகாஷ், காண்டீபனுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு | பேசும் களம் / Is Sivajilingam getting ready to be the Chief Ministerial candidate? ; There are opportunities for Sugash and Kandeepan also.

 

To the above, Mr Sivajilingam added Mr Manivannan’s name also. I concluded that  my opposition to all of them as possible candidates for the position of Chief Minister was the reason why my attention was drawn to the above discussion.

 

In his discussions, Mr Sivajilingam highlighted lack of cooperation from the Central government in relation to fulfilling the needs  for Nursing staff and English language proficiency. Mr Sivajilingam may not know of my services in this regard but Mr Wigneswaran and many other local Tamil politicians, as well as the Tamil Diaspora have been included in my email communications. When they did not respond to them or at least acknowledge them, I concluded that they were not in need as if that need, was their need and in the case of acknowledgements they lacked the basic structure in Administration even in this day and age of electronic facilities.

 

In the case of Nursing staff I represented a group from North who were desperate for confirmations as promised before the 2013 Provincial Council elections held after a gap of over 25 years. More than 200 women benefited from this. As for myself, I learnt that we can work the system by following all due processes – without taking shortcuts and / or through favouritism. A big part of that force was the hardship I experienced at the Ministry of Health to get approval to go to the camps in 2009, at the height of the war.

 

As per the Administrative processes known to me as Sri Lankan, I had the right to go to the camps as Professor Henry Sathananthan – at whose request I went to the Ministry. But I did not get the level of treatment that Henry got. So I took my turn practically from zero base. It was painful – but later I realised that the credits that I sacrificed, to take my turn as a person without portfolio became the ownership power of One. Ownership power is exponential in value.

 

It is this ownership value that was lacking in Mr Wigneswaran when he was Chief Minister (CM) . To claim political credit Mr Wigneswaran referred to LTTE leader as Thambi (younger brother). This disconnected him from his own investment in the path of law. The LTTE was open about their separation from that pathway. To the extent they believed in it – they were right. But this does not extend to Mr Wigneswaran who unlike me carried the ‘Justice’ status. That is the parallel of Buddhism Foremost article in our Constitution. Both are relative and not exponential powers. One who believes in the Judiciary cannot believe in Politics and v.v.

 

The good current example of the outcome of this indiscriminate mixing is the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC )inquiry based resignations by three premiers of the State of NSW  - which is the parallel of Northern Province of Sri Lanka. The Premiers were elected by their party and the group was elected by the People. Both are taken to be on the basis of Belief and not merit. That belief is developed through the subjective pathway – based on proximity within the electorate.  Hence if the voters as per their conscience think they are right the MP is also right for that electorate. But in judicial system  this happens as a last resort through the discretionary powers of the Judge as provided for in the law.  This is because the Judge needs to be impartial and needs to be seen to be so. Towards this – the law is elevated to a level above that of the level practiced by Common Citizen in a free environment. This is based not on the  belief of the Common Citizen but of the belief Common Judiciary over generations. That is how the balance between the wheels of justice is maintained.

 

ICAC is a mix of the two and seriously damages the system of Democracy where the leader is taken to be infallible – just as the queen is taken to be. The Judiciary has to do its own inquiries and find the evidence. If the LTTE had been limited by law – it would have not had the strength to fight for 30 years against a lawful Sri Lankan Army. Eventually, as Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa declared – his side also were ‘freed’ of the law’s restrictions including by the enlisting  Eastern LTTE  leader on their side to pick his intelligence.

 

Out of the above named persons – Sivajilingam is an heir of LTTE. The rest as per my knowledge are lawyers by profession. Unless they cheated the law to ‘win’ – as Mr  Rajapaksa claimed he did – they would be heirs of Mr Wigneswaran and other Tamil lawyers who could not win Equal rights due to this indiscriminate mixing of the two professions. Out of these, Mr SJV Chelvanayakam forewent Judicial position and became ‘Father of the Tamil Nation’ presented as follows by Wikipedia:

 

 

[A successful career in civil law saw him becoming a King's Counsel and being offered a position on the Supreme Court, which he rejected. As a young lawyer Chelvanayakam was not involved in politics but when the British established the Soulbury Commission to look into constitutional reform in Ceylon he and other Tamil people formed the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) to represent Tamil interests. He was elected to Parliament in 1947 to represent Kankesanthurai, a constituency he would represent until his death]

Mr G G Ponnambalam on the other hand is presented as follows:

The Board of Ministers established after the 1936 state council election consisted entirely of Sinhalese members, excluding minorities who together made up 35% of Ceylon's population. This was one of the drivers which led Ponnambalam to make his infamous 50:50 demand in a marathon speech to the State Council on 15 March 1939. He repeated the demand when he gave evidence to the Soulbury Commission in February 1945. Ponnambalam wanted 50% of seats in Parliament for the Sinhalese, 50% for all other ethnic groups]  and about his regional power:

[In January 1976 the Union Government of India dismissed the state government of Tamil Nadu, accusing Chief Minister Karunanidhi of corruption, and imposed President's rule. Ponnambalam represented Karunanidhi at Supreme Court justice Ranjit Singh Sarkaria's commission of inquiry. Karunanidhi was cleared of the corruption charges]

As per my interpretation, this is the Business Unit approach that is promoted in Democratic Public Administration. Unlike Mr SJV Chelvanayakam who relied on belief, Mr GG Ponnambalam used his cleverness to win – both in politics as well as in Courts. If we have similar pair or both in the same person as a leader – we are already leading Sri Lanka. Neither faced the LTTE challenge.

The option available to me and others like me is to strengthen the Administrative system that we Tamils were good at and which led to the Sinhala only policy by Mr SWRD Bandaranaike, followed by the Standardization policy by his wife. We can do this by believing in our ancestors during British rule through which we automatically connect to the Western Administrators including within the Tamil Diaspora but not limited to them. The rest would happen through the system of truth/belief. As per the system of Democracy – this belief needs to be at the level of the citizen with the smallest portfolio. As per our true need – the opportunity to invest at family level has been facilitated through emigration to these nations. But if the Diaspora even thinks of profiting – we need clever folks like Mr GG Ponnambalam to release us from the claws of the smart Justice system.

Tamil Nation

As a Sri Lankan Tamil, what is the highest position I would vote for ? The answer from within is – as Equal position as ruling person. Likewise here in Australia where majority are whites. The strength of this was highlighted through the 1977 Sri Lankan Parliamentary elections preceded by the Vaddukoddai Resolution which confirmed that Equal Opposition position through the United group known as TULF. Its origins are presented as follows by Wikipedia:

[On 4 May 1972, several Tamil political groups, including the Federal Party (ITAK), Ceylon Workers Congress, and All Ceylon Tamil Congress formed the Tamil United Front (TUF) under the joint leadership of S.J.V. Selvanayagam, S. Thondaman, and G.G. Ponnambalam. The TUF changed its name to Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) and adopted the demand for an independent state to be known as the "secular, socialist state of Tamil Eelam". The CWC declined to extend its support to the newly formed TULF.]

In 1977 the goal was achieved. But those who are driven by the physical interpret it as ‘country’ and not as ‘nation’. The CWC’s stand is explained by the following:

[In the March 1965 elections, Thondaman shifted to the UNP to protest against the terms of the Indo-Ceylon Agreement of October 1964. After the victory of the UNP in 1965, S. Thondaman and Veloo Annamalay were named as nominated as  Members of Parliament. He was out of Parliament from 1970 to 1977 after the defeat of the UNP in the general election of 1970. During this period the CWC under his leadership gradually allied itself with the major Tamil political parties and subscribed to form the Tamil United Front (TUF). He was also elected a leader of the triumvirate leadership of this Tamil political organization.]

To be a sovereign community, Tamils had to include the group – then recognized as ‘Indian Tamils’. Without them our connections with Tamils of India become weak. Even though CWC did not join the TULF, the TUF membership confirmed their intent to be part of Sri Lankan Tamil community. They are missing from the Tamil Political group that is claiming Tamil Nationalism. This ‘forgotten ‘group’ is now Politically with the Rajapaksa government.

Lieutenant Colonel Navam is an example of Tamils in Sri Lanka who were alienated by Jaffna Tamil combatants despite the LTTE leader respecting him at the highest level. If we do not recognise and value such folks who fought for their local community against the mighty Indian army then their power is lost to us which has the effect of favouring the opposition. Navam’s dedication has thus been added to the Rajapaksa side.

It’s interesting that Mrs Bandaranaike lost in 1977 Parliamentary elections which were the first after the 1972 Constitution was drawn with Buddhism Foremost article. Why so? Because her husband was killed by a Buddhist monk. If the lady had felt the loss genuinely she would have not blocked the power of faith overriding the relative, downward pulling forces. To the extent Non-Buddhists distanced themselves from those who practiced Sinhala-Buddhism foremost policy their belief would form natural opposition Energy at government level. Belief is self-balancing Absolute power. Even the believer has no control over it after it goes beyond local level. Like in the case of Corona virus – this is exponential in its occupation – once it leaves its local area.

All those who believe they are Sri Lankans but are excluded by the ‘Buddhism Foremost’ article - have the power to establish Equal Opposition through belief in their own religion. Those who compete with this article would be limited to the relative power. In terms of Tamils who claim nationalism through Indian support – they would become junior Tamils until they are global Tamils. Likewise, Buddhists who seek to be global Buddhists including through China.

Sri Lankan President = Idi Amin? – Totally Skewed

As per my discovery, when I am true to myself, I write my own constitution. This is the basis of my own karmic structure. But before realising this, I was unhappy when I did not witness outcomes as expected. This pushed me into solitude. That solitude helped me realize that many, about whose opinions I cared, did not think of me at all. I thus felt free not to think of them but to include within me their values that seemed ‘right’ to me. These were my ‘other’ side. Together they became one half of my structure. The other was myself.

How did I mark rights and wrongs? – through my own structure that developed when I contributed to ‘commonness’ – the ‘us’ value. It is this ‘us’ value that removes fear and anxiety of loss from our minds. Hence leaving out that which did not seem right to me but including as part of myself / my opposition/other side, the aspects that  seemed right to me.

Institutional structures help us mark rights and wrongs as per the laws Common to us. They lead to developing our own constitutions. If our focus is more on the individual than on the position, we would fail to contribute positively to development of reliable structures.

In his Daily Mirror article ‘The Last King of Scotland The new normal of Sri Lanka is both Grimmer and ludicrous than dark comedy’ Ranga Jayasuriya highlights as follows:

[Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the eighth executive President, and the incumbent in the office seems to believe that the next thing Sri Lanka needs right after the pandemic is a new constitution and a new electoral system.] 

The President elected by the People is the ‘other side’ of the citizen. The President is the parallels of my ‘other half’ as presented above. At the time of being elected – the voters were shaken by the Easter Bombings which confirmed the power of Muslim minorities in non-Muslim areas. Instead of seeking where they went wrong with Tamils, Sinhalese blamed the war on Tamils and effectively erased the good Tamil from their minds. By failing to take care of themselves as independent citizens who were juniors to those in government, voters became slaves by expecting who are permanently dependant on their masters. The junior becomes Equal when s/he performs as per her/his position duty. Likewise a citizen and hence the voting power at 18. Through this voting right, the citizen elects her/his other side as government. The collection of this other side is recognized as Government and Opposition in parliament.

Through his above claim/judgment, Ranga Jayasuriya is confirming that he is not able to identify with Mr Rajapaksa as his ‘other’ half. But he fails to point to an alternate leader who does. This then requires Ranga Jayasuriya to stand for Presidency at the next elections. If Ranga Jayasuriya is not ready to do this then he needs to become his own other half to fill the ‘gap’. When he does that – the current occupant has the duty to ‘facilitate’ such a citizen. Thus it becomes Appe Aanduva / Our Governance. Merely finding fault makes us foreigners. Foreigners do not have the right to judge. When they observe they have the right to use it in their own homelands. Likewise they do not have the right to bring externals like Idi Amin / the film - The Last King of Scotland to Sri Lankan reality.

The strange commonness that my true contribution to the position of President was this:

The above states that PM Mahinda Rajapaksa’s doctor the late Eliyantha  White’s children have been provided with security by 21 Police Officers. The issue has been raised by Opposition MP – Niroshan Paadhuka

 

Both are about personal physicians of the leaders – published around the same time.
