WAR CRIMES, CORONAVIRUS & CHINESE MONEY
From time to time we lend money to fellow
Sri Lankans who seem to be in need. The strange connection that I observed was
our affordability at the time they ask. All except one are Tamils and were
affected by the war. The Sinhalese guy who is reliable , self-extended the time
by which he promised he would pay. When I advised him that it was inappropriate
and that he ought to have asked me – he got cross with me and soon returned the
money in full. Now we are civil with each other but I stopped engaging his
services because there was no relationship through which I could manage the
total resources – especially the Human Resources involved. With Tamils when they fail to repay – I take
the higher position with them and they accept it. This is necessary to maintain
the Sovereignty of the community we belong to.
In his Daily Mirror article ‘Facts and Fiction of Chinese
investments: Its economic projects are not bad; rather the discourse is heavily
politicised’ Ranga Jayasuriya states as follows:
[Some of the Chinese loans were also invested
to advance Mr. Rajapaksa’s dynastic ambitions in his home-turf of Hambantota.. Due
to the Rajapaksa’s strong association with China, the political opposition has
viewed Chinese development projects and at times, China’s Sri Lankan relations,
as an extension of the Rajapaksa regime, which they are not. That
fallacious thinking, however, explains the incrimination of Chinese development
projects in the election platforms during 2015, and subsequent suspension of some
of the major development projects after Yahapalanaya came to power. ]
I do not
know how Mr Ranga
Jayasuriya measured ‘what happened’, to come to the above conclusion. Was Mr
Ranga Jayasuriya referring to Tamil MP Mr Shanakiyan’s speech which he
presents as follows:
[Last week,
Batticaloa’s Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Shanakiyan Ragul Rajaputhiran
Rasamanickam delivered a speech in Parliament, the essence of which was to
appeal for the right of Tamils to mourn their dead and right of Muslims to bury
their dead. The young MP said he felt ‘ sorry’ for the majority Sinhalese
because the government was conjuring ‘Billos’ (boogymen) from nowhere to
distract the community from the real-world problems. ‘The real boogyman’, he
quipped is Chinese investments. “Do you want to be another Pakistan? Do you
want to be another Laos,” he asked.]
I feel Sri Lankan and the way I received the above speech
was different to that of Mr Jayasuriya’s presented above. The reason is belief
based relationship with India which has continuously shared its status with
Tamils of Sri Lanka. I have stated many times that our Australian state of
Victoria got into more trouble with Coronavirus than other states because it
signed up agreement with China in relation to the Belt & Road Initiative
and did so without the approval of Federal Government. I made this intuitive connection not through
Australian experience but when I kept looking deeper and deeper for the causes
of Easter Bombings. That was when I came across the Daily News report of 02
June 2016 and included it in my article ‘Tourism & Terrorism – Separate or One ? at http://austms.blogspot.com/2019/05/gajalakshmi-paramasivam-07may-2019.html:
(But the death of three children of Denmark’s business
magnet Anders Holch Povlsen ought to have warned the
President that money cannot protect one from risks outside the
business family. Shangri-La Hotel is part of confirmation that we have fooled
the International community about the war-karma of Sri Lanka. Shangri-La Hotels
were towards pleasing the Chinese customer. The first of the two – Shangrila
Hotels in Sri Lanka built in Hambantota area which to me is land covered by
Lord Muruga of Kathirgamam whose protection covers all Hindu Tamils whose
presiding deity is Muruga. The following account of the bad omen was published
by Daily News on Thursday – 02 June 2016:
[A fire broke out
at a pavilion of the newly built Shangri-la resort, in Hambantota, last night.
The incident occurred
during the opening of the hotel, graced by President Maithripala
Sirisena and other distinguished guests.
Eye-witnesses said the
fire broke out during a fireworks display, following the opening of the hotel.
The fire brigade was called in immediately after the fire broke out and it was
doused with the assistance of employees and residents in the area.])
When the cause is
strongly karmic – the indicators are identified with by the believer. In this
instance it was through belief in the Land of Hambantota over which Lord Kathirgamam presides and therefore
the belief based identity with common Believer in Kathirgamam Lord who is also War Lord. A believer identifies with the
reasoning as per her/his need. This is often different looking to the scientific
reasoning using statistics but a fellow believer would fully identify with such
connection. This is the basis of Universal Franchise and also Performance
Indicators in Resource Management.
In terms of the Mahara
Prison riots – the cause includes the karma of Gampaha district where the
Prison is. Gampaha is where Mr Basil Rajapaksa polled highest number of
Preferential votes in the 2010 Parliamentary elections. When the folks believe and the leader they
voted for does not fit that belief – her/his opposition would get empowered by
that belief.
While Mr Shanakiyan opposed China Mr Ponnambalam opposed those who
are allegedly connected to war crimes – including Mr Basil Rajapaksa.
Majority Sri Lankans do not have knowledge
of the Sri Lankan Constitution. But when they believe and when there is someone
in need – they connect and separate the pretending leader. People’s powers are
shared through belief.
China’s investments in Sri Lanka are
not underpinned by belief. To the extent Sri Lankans believe in Indian leaders –
especially through religions – India’s opposition would naturally become
theirs. If Sri Lanka fails to pay Indian loans – India becomes the senior
relative and this will be acceptable to Lankans. Not so in the case of China
who needs to be considered an Equal foreigner until there is common belief at
the People’s level.
As per the Sunday Morning
report ‘Mahara
Prison clash: Rights group appeals UN Special Rapporteurs’ :
[The
Committee for Protecting Rights of Prisoners (CPRP) has sent an urgent appeal
to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading
Treatment or Punishment and the Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary,
or Arbitrary Executions of the UN Human Rights Council, last week, following
the aftermath of the Mahara Prison Complex riots that killed 11 inmates and
injured 107, as of 2 December.]
Now
that the current President has distanced himself from the UN in terms of war
irregularities – there is no common global measure to be used. I do not know
whether CPRP opposed the withdrawal from the commitment to UN Resolution. If
they did not – then their claim to use Global laws would be lacking in belief.
One needs to believe in the law as well as what happened to have the total
experience.
