Artificial Intelligence v Spiritual Intelligence

As recommended by my husband we watched Face the Nation recorded on 13 July 2020. Out of the 4 candidates from four major parties in the upcoming Parliamentary elections, I identified most with ITAK representative Mr M A Sumanthiran of  Jaffna, who also happened to represent minorities in Sri Lanka along with the three Journalists – (Mr Shameer Rasooldeen, Mr Nadim Majeed and Ms Azra Asaan) -  who by name seemed Muslims.

The main theme was presented as follows:

[Will Sri Lanka's political dynamics change ahead of an election? Development strategies and AI]

To my mind, Mr Sumanthiran’s presentation was more commonly based as per Common Law, whilst the other three seemed particular to their own parties – who in total represented majority race. The knowledge presented therefore confirmed roughly the apparent political brain of Sri Lanka at the present time.

Mr Shameer Rasooldeen raised the  question of the role of Artificial Intelligence. Whilst the other three gave specific responses - Mr Sumanthiran said he did not have much knowledge of AI but that his group was structuring towards development that would promote Financial Independence. I identified fully with this as the first need of Northern Sri Lanka. Listed in the Appendix is the  email discussion I had in this regard with a fellow Diaspora Member (DM).

The article by Mr N Sathiyamorthi in June is at the centre of my inquiry. Did it happen through Artificial Intelligence or Spiritual Intelligence?

Wikipedia presents as follows:

Artificial Intelligence: In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, unlike the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals. Leading AI textbooks define the field as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.

Spiritual intelligence is a term used by some philosopherspsychologists, and developmental theorists to indicate spiritual parallels with IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient)…… Variations of spiritual intelligence are sometimes used in corporate settings, as a means of motivating employees and providing a non-religious, diversity-sensitive framework for addressing issues of values in the workplace. According to Stephen Covey, "Spiritual intelligence is the central and most fundamental of all the intelligences, because it becomes the source of guidance for the others."

Given that the purpose of my above mentioned communication  was to ‘share myself’ by being honest to myself – I concluded that my discovery of the article was through Spiritual Intelligence. I believe that when we contribute to Dharma / Righteousness, Dharma supports us. This happens through Universal Energy. AI on the other hand is specific to a particular structure.
To my mind, nn Democracy we need Emotional Intelligence which is presented as follows by Wikipedia:

[Emotional intelligence (EI), emotional leadership (EL), emotional quotient (EQ) and emotional intelligence quotient (EIQ), is the capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others, discern between different feelings and label them appropriately, use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior, and manage and/or adjust emotions to adapt to environments or achieve one's goal(s)]

A voter  who is able to identify with her/his own emotions by connecting honestly to her/himself as the reason why identifies with a leader who is able to feel for the group as if they were a part of her/himself. This power does not need any intellectual discrimination of rights and wrongs as per the law – local or common. It works through belief in oneself through one’s own truth. The rest happens automatically to deliver as per one’s true needs.

Appendix

DM:  - Amirthalingam was one of our greatest parliamentarians of all times.
He was an eloquent speaker in both- Tamil and English - languages.
I was his greatest admirer, while I was a supporter of Federal Party in 1950s
and there after I met him personally in Bombay and Chennai in July 1981.
I attended his meeting in Staten Island, New York a few months before he was
assassinated. It was unfortunate that we lost a politician like him.

Please listen to his memorable speech, he made in1988, which may be
worth listening at this time - when there is an election in Sri Lanka.
His face is still fresh in my mind
Gaja: Why did you then support CVW in whose party Ananthi has been included.? Did you ask the Hon Amirthalingam before doing so?
DM:  The Federal party of Our time is gone With the formation in TULF in 1976. The present day TNA is full of traitors selling the Tamils whenever possible. Sumanthiran is their leader who looks after UNP more than the interest of the Tamils.
I personally saw him at UNHCR last March when he came to ask for time for Srilanka.
His backbone should be broken.
I personally know CWW and he is not Sumanthiran.

Gaja: Thank you. I know you more personally than I know CVW whom I know more than Sumanthiran as a person. But as a representative of  my Jaffna – I identify more with Sumanthiran’s manifesto and his deeper understanding of the needs of Jaffna than CVW has so far demonstrated. The Federal Party has evolved and its spirit is still living through ITAK and its leaders. Likewise ACTC. There is no such gene in TMTK about which Mr N Sathiyamorthi wrote as follows in June:
[After the three-party Tamil National Alliance (TNA) combine’s open talk in the matter, the Tamil Makkal Tesiya Kuttani (TMTK) under former Northern Province Chief Minister, C V Wigneswaran, seems to have hinted at a willingness to talk to the Government of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, after the parliamentary polls, on what they too describe as the ‘national problem’. It is a welcome sign, yes, but on details, the Tamils are not going to yield from their age-old position on a ‘political solution’, whether called by the term ‘federalism’ or not.] ‘When Tamil parties want to talk to the Government’ - article published by Colombo Gazette on 15 June 2020

As per my observation, during the 2015-2019 period dominated by UNP – Tamils in Jaffna as well as Batticaloa have become more independent financially through alternate pathways than they did prior to that period under the Rajapaksas. If CVW seeks to talk to them  - to me – a financially independent person – that is a backward step. The fact that CVW asked the People for money confirms his lack of financial independence as a politician. You also contributed to it.
Love
Gaja

A coordinator whom I copied wrote as follows:

Coordinator: In my simple unsophisticated mind it seems to me that Sumanthiran is an Angel & Wigneswaran is a Devil & Money is the Catalyst while the Liberator of the poor Tamils in the North & East has been buried !!!
Gaja: That is the consolidated picture that has evolved as per their public performance in the context of their current positions
