W.H.O. Favouring the Chinese – true or false?
[‘Today we act to protect Australia’s “sovereignty”
"What we do today is what governments have
always done in such circumstances … today we act to protect Australia's
sovereignty,"] Australian
PM Scott Morrison on 08 April 2020
I identified with these expressions through my own
belief in the Sovereignty of Australia. To the extent I expressly contributed
to such Sovereignty, I am part of the government structure and I would take my
place when Australia has a need. On 06
April I shared this with others I consider to be my relatives –under the
heading ‘PRORECTING OUR SOVEREIGNTY’ – at http://austms.blogspot.com/
I included the following ‘thanksgiving’ message in
the above:
[At the
moment – this epidemic is confirming the need to protect our sovereign borders.
In Australia for example those who respect as their elders – those who arrived
on the first fleet – (for example PM
Scott Morrison’s family Elder William Roberts - )who worked hard to make a
life for themselves – and to provide refuge to others
- have the protection from infections carried
through Cruise ships such as the Ruby Princess. This is the value of
Transparency. If that ancestry had been suppressed – it would not have been
possible for me to share my own sovereignty through that pathway.]
In turn some others
identified with the spirit through Mr Winston Churchill’s speech when Germans
seemed to be overpowering the British way of life:
[‘We shall defend our island, whatever the
cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing
grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the
hills; we shall never surrender.’ ]
The above confirms a natural heritage that one
invokes beyond time and place borders. When
we are able to so invoke the Spirit from within, it confirms our belief.
I identified with parallel
commonness through current values in the case of President Trump criticizing W.H.O.
:
[“We’re
going to put a hold on money spent to the W.H.O. We’re going to put a very
powerful hold on it and we’re going to see,” Mr. Trump said during the daily
coronavirus briefing at the White House, accusing the organization of having
not been aggressive enough in confronting the virus. “They called it wrong.
They call it wrong. They really, they missed the call.”…..
Mr. Trump unleashed
a tirade against the organization on Tuesday,
accusing it of acting too slowly to sound the alarm, and of treating the
Chinese government too favorably. While the president, who threatened to
withhold American funding for the W.H.O., spoke in unusually harsh terms, he
was not alone in such criticism.] The New York Times
The W.H.O. chief is reported to have stated:
[“Please
don’t politicize this virus,” Dr. Tedros said. “If you want to be exploited and
you want to have many more body bags, then you do it. If you don’t want many
more body bags, then you refrain from politicizing it.”]
Again,
on 03 April I wrote under the heading ‘W. H. O. COLLUDING WITH SRI LANKAN
GOVERNMENT?’:
[The Daily News heading ‘WHO Chief lauds Sri
Lanka’s COVID-19 response’ did not make sense to me. The report goes as
follows:
[The WHO Director
General and Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa discussed the latest
developments related to the outbreak of COVID-19 during the phone conversation.
In a Twitter message,
the WHO Director General said he thanked President Rajapaksa for mobilizing the
whole of Government in the fight against the COVID-19.
“I had a good call with
@GotabayaR , President of #SriLanka, on #COVID19 today. We discussed health and
economic impacts #COVID19 can have on his country and the whole region.”
“I thanked him for
mobilizing the whole-of-government in the fight against the #coronavirus.
Together!,” he tweeted.
President Gotabaya
Rajapaksa, in response, thanked the Director General for his support to Sri
Lanka and the immense work being done by the World Health Organization to
contain the global pandemic.
He added that the Sri
Lankan Government will continue to collaborate with the WHO to bring the
COVID-19 pandemic under control.]
The above did not make
sense to me because President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is not a health expert
nor an Economic scientist. As per published figures Sri Lanka is doing 8 times
better than China in terms of infections and 16 times better in terms of
deaths. But then India is doing 31 times and 45 times better respectively than
China.
President Gotabaya
Rajapaksa tweeted yesterday giving us a clue to his real motive: - ‘Let
us show our gratitude to the heroes in the frontline, who are fighting for us..
to keep us safe. Thank you for your selfless service’
I
am a Sri Lankan by belief and hence when the Sovereignty of Sri Lanka is hurt I
feel hurt. Every democratically elected leader has the duty to listen to the
Common Sovereign Individual above any outsider during times of Natural
Disasters. The Coronavirus has a mind of its own. It can be beaten only by
Sovereign force that manifests at the higher level to benefit a group. The
essential features are that the fighter needs to be sovereign and the fighter
needs to be common to more than her/his own species.
On
31 March 2020, the W.H.O. chief praised a government that had to use the armed
forces to keep the citizens at home. The head of that government – released a
prisoner who was given the death sentence by the Judiciary. If President
Gotabaya Rajapaksa based his decision on his belief – that is the parallel of
using Indigenous medicine to cure the global minded Coronavirus.
Yesterday
I received from a friend a communication that such Tamil medication based on Turmeric
and other medical herbs had cured an Australian Tamil. I related to it but it
cannot be shared with fellow Australian Tamils, leave alone non-Tamils. That is
the way with Indigenous medicine. W.H.O. was praising a president who is
enforcing his home-remedy against
unlawful conduct beyond his sovereign borders which have been clearly stated as
Sinhala-Buddhist community borders. The rest is enforcement. Had power been
devolved the natural grouping of other communities would have support the
majority group.
The
Burial or Cremation for Muslims discussion is also highlighting the weak
contribution to Sovereignty by the Sinhala-Buddhist community that has become
dependent on the Government in return for the Government’s dependence on its
votes. W.H.O.’s guidelines were set aside by the Government but its name was
used by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to impress this dependent constituency.
Like the Coronavirus with its own mind, army rule is spreading including
through indoctrination that the army is the sole protector of Sri Lankans. The LTTE sang that slogan and
the Government that sang it louder – won. But they both killed the immunity of
Democracy in the citizen who was born with the ability to self-govern – as an
individual and/or as a group. One who relies on that becomes a foreigner to
anyone who is following in the path of Democracy.
Like
different types of fuels needing
different types of engines to work efficiently and naturally – each type of
input into a common-looking structure would make the engine naturally efficient
or naturally damage the engine if it is not compatible. If the fuel does not fit the engine then it is
better for the contributor to use oil to maintain a part of that engine. That
is what Separation of Powers is all about.
