Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 22 Aug  2015

British Tamil is not Sri Lankan Tamil
Australian Sinhalese is not Sri Lankan Sinhalese

There is much talk about Political solution for Tamils of Sri Lanka. According to the latest media news ‘The Global Tamil Forum (GTF) says it will seek the full support of the international community, including India, to help implement the legitimate demands of the Tamil people through a negotiated political solution.’ To my mind that is more a message / warning to the Government of Sri Lanka that GTF would use global social power to get the outcome it seeks. Such powers are strongly emotion based and unless such is based on Belief – they are of negative value in terms of  Self-Governance. Using others outside Tamil Eelam confirms lack of confidence in one’s own qualification to lead a group towards self-governance. In fact it could be leading from the frying pan into the fire.  If an ethnic group claims to be Sovereign in its own rights – it would not show others’ support in its structure.
This kind of hypocrisy was  demonstrated also by an Australian Sinhalese who responded to my email under the subject heading ‘Australian Winning Sri Lankan Elections?’ with a blunt message through the picture below without any explanation.
The wording in that picture is in Sinhalese and my knowledge of Sinhalese did not extend that far. Mine is more for social integration with those who cannot speak English the common language in Sri Lanka or Tamil as well as I.  Given that the response was copied to all in that particular email of mine – I took it as the responder using my structure to publish his own work. Hence I tried to read the message behind the ‘Sinhala picture only’ message by using google. I was taken to a website which described itself as a ‘Forum for All Sri Lankans All over the world.’ Then followed a conversation with the above mentioned responder in pure Sinhalese. Likewise, the Global Tamil Forum is pure British Tamil and not Global Tamil.
Yesterday the parallel in the Sri Lankan Political group – the Tamil National Alliance was confirmed. It started with a message from a well educated Australian of Sri Lankan origin sharing with us, the following message to a Tamil Politician:
Congrats on your resounding victory in our Tamil Homeland.
High time the TNA joins the mainstream of government and show their leadership in co-operating with GOSL to get some concessions for our people in the North and East. Being within the system is more desirable than confrontational politics which will take us nowhere. Hon.PM Ranil is a reasonable person to approach and we must get at least one ministerial post in GOSL and try to reduce the armed presence in the Tamil homelands. Since the rail and roads have now been built and many Sinhalese have invested in the North and East, it is up to you to look for investment in the Sinhala areas, reciprocally. There are great opportunities left unexplored, like education, tourism, sports, fisheries, livestock, vegetables, fruits, chilies,  Palmyra and other products. Our people are very intelligent and hard-working and have suffered a lot in the past. Vocational training is much needed in Tamil Areas. I have been to Jaffna and Batticaloa several times and I can see the potential and enthusiasm of the people. There are many Sinhalese who are trying to help and you should invite them to come and see the potential by having workshops and seminars. Our cricketers are most willing to help.
We need the co-operation of all clergy, politicians, academics, universities, professionals, students and also investors from Colombo and overseas to help you all. Hope you will take this advice seriously. Don’t take a back seat. Let’s get up and go. Very best wishes.

I felt the urge to respond to the above person – not because we always agreed with each other – but because he has demonstrated ‘independence’ in terms of status. Such a person would identify with the core value rather than agreement or disagreement – win or lose. This Sri Lankan leader sought participation above status.
In that consciousness I responded as follows to the group covered by that email:
Thank you for sharing your valuable feelings with us. There are signs of an educated leadership in Sri Lanka which has become possible due also to the strong mental involvement by the likes of you.

In terms of TNA I believe Tamils as a community have to maintain their independent status and cooperate at policy level. This is best achieved through Leader of the Opposition position going to a Tamil. Such confirms our Equal participation in Politics without losing our Diversity.

Love
Gaja

The response to it was:
Agree that the TNA should lead the opposition. Excellent idea. Hope the UNP will agree. GOSL needs some educated politicians.

The Politician responded as follows:
‘Thank you very much Professor, for your wishes and very valuable thoughts.’
I wrote this morning about this leader who leads another group within the Diaspora ‘I am responding because of  those who have shown valuation and those who never disrespected me as a person. Professor leads that part of this group. I am not ‘back’ as active member of the forum. I am expressing my observations on this specific topic. You are one of those who demonstrated lack of respect for me as a person.

In the global group – the initiator of the  discussion with the Politician  is the ‘cow with the bell’ as we say in Tamil. Like those with minority status - I was the cow without the bell. This cow without the bell has included the above TNA Politician in her regular emails for many months now. But to date there has been no response from this TNA Politician to this cow – not even after knowledge that this lesser looking cow is respected as an equal by the cow with the bell.
The judgment by me is that the above TNA Politician in his ‘natural environment’ will NOT consider the ordinary voter without status bell – to be part of him or of equal status to him - once he gets his seat in parliament. To that extent it is a job won and not an ownership right to demand on behalf of his group. There is a Tamil saying that we must not forget the pathway we travelled through, once we reach our destination. Those who are genuinely fighting for equal rights for a minority group  would always identify with minority (cow without bell) as a priority. Others would enforce their way as the above Sinhalese forum which says it is for all Sri Lankans effectively enforces Sinhalese – as if Sinhalese = Sri Lankans.
I have had this experience many times at Vaddukoddai – where the first declaration of Political (i.e. Emotions based) Independence was first made in 1976. Given that it was made in Vaddukoddai – Vaddukoddai is the Political Capital of Tamil Nation within the country Sri Lanka. The law and order of Vaddukoddai is very weak now if not for a few folks like myself. When law and order of the current generation is weak that expression of  independence is weak, unless the Political Declaration was strongly based on belief and the currently active  generation believes in those who made the declaration and/or the land where such was made. As I wrote today to a Diaspora group during discussion of  Reaction v Response ‘The other day when I was critical of my husband’s emotional reaction – but confirmed that I too reacted he quickly said ‘so you too are emotional!’ I said ‘Yes but I override it through my Truth within which takes me to the steady path’. Those who are yet to find Truth are limited to emotional reactions.

The latest example in Vaddukoddai was through caste based reverse discrimination. A guy from Vaddukoddai suburb who kept claiming that their village was disenfranchised until my active involvement in their village – started demonstrating his claim for ‘individuality’ and therefore freedom from supervision by me – the very same person he calls ‘Ammah/Mother’ and whose feet he touched in reverence until this recent episode when he claimed he sought ‘individuality’. The more I tried to explain the right course of action the more active was his reaction in opposition. One of the topics under issue was that he wanted to place the picture of Hindu Deities in his work area within his allocated area within our training center. He brought that picture and the oil-lamp without seeking my approval. I did not say anything even though I was upset that he was investing in separation. I am a Hindu and we own and manage the Hindu temple in his home village within Vaddukoddai District. There too – Shiva-Shakthi are represented in Trident form as Vairavar-Kali. Yet at out Training Center at Vaddukoddai junction I naturally had no religious representation and if I had felt the need for it – I would have chosen representation of all religions. I am a strong believer of the Divinity of Sathya Sai Baba and yet I consciously override His name being mentioned in our Bhajans (Sai Bhajans) out of respect that majority in that area are not devotees of Sathya Sai Baba. The above guy who until recently represented us at the temple – started also arguing with me when I mentioned some breaches in time order in temple functions. To me Nallur Murugan temple is the best example for time order. Ultimately – when I felt I could not go anymore in explaining to him – I realized that his demonstration of belief included expressions of his own desire to be equal to Vaddukoddai folks. I ended the argument by showing the way to separate from our Management – so he could demonstrate his ‘individuality’ as an Equal.  To me – every Tamil or Sinhalese who claims  equal position to a Sri Lankan would need this separation through time and/or distance - to confirm their independence and diversity to that extent under one banner. If they are not truly independent and they would not be if they forget the benefits enjoyed as Sri Lankans – as the above guy did in our case – they are confirming their lack of independence and are confusing physical freedom with true independence.  They are actually employees to the extent they remain active within the broader  structure. This is also the case with TNA as well as GTF
It is reported that TNA leader  ‘Mr. Sampanthan expressed confidence that the new government elected at the recent general election would find a satisfactory political solution to the ethnic problem.

The above confirms that TNA continues to be part of Sri Lankan structure and not Tamil Eelam structure. If this is not officially acknowledged – they are actually being employed by Sri Lankans and do not own in full their positions in parliament.
Under the circumstances it is time voters and citizens without high status treat these politicians as ‘facilities’ and not expect them to lead their voters to independence – for these politicians for whom Tamil voters voted overwhelmingly but without belief would turn against them when they fail to receive their benefits as expected. The above mentioned village – was considered high-risk area for this kind of reverse discrimination which was turned towards Sinhalese Government. If I do not keep my distance and thereby recognize this above mentioned person as an Equal Outsider – the caste-based discrimination knowledge would become emotional force against me. Likewise at Sri Lankan level.
Through all this – I received an uplifting email all the way from France which said:
[Who is the Sri Lankan diaspora lady]
While googling to know the background of this responder I came across the following:
Naan Australian /  Gaja Lakshmi Paramasivam.  2014
  USD 205.90   (DKSLK-1759  ( HBD ))

 DK Number:, DKSLK-1759

Author:, Gaja Lakshmi Paramasivam.
Imprint:, Pannipitiya : Stamford Lake,
Physical Desc.:, 1093 pages ; 23 cm

Price:, USD 205.90

The interesting part of the above is the price – which is officially AUD 50.  But it is published at its Dharmic value of USD 205.90. That really gave the response to the above question by a Global Tamil.

Further search on the above Tamil led me to listening to a couple of speeches by Chief Minister of Northern Province, Sri Lanka. In the earlier speech – Mr. Wigneswarn refers to Mr. Jiddu Krishnamurthi who is described as follows by Wikipedia:
Jiddu Krishnamurti was a speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects. In his early life he was groomed to be the new World Teacher but later rejected this mantle and withdrew from the organisation behind it. His subject matter included psychological revolution, the nature of mind, meditation, inquiry, human relationships, and bringing about radical change in society. He constantly stressed the need for a revolution in the psyche of every human being and emphasised that such revolution cannot be brought about by any external entity, be it religious, political, or social.’

Mr. Wigneswaran referring to Mr. Krishnamurthi’s advice to prevent using examples but to focus on the underlying philosophy. But then I came across this other speech which was interpreted differently by various groups as being inappropriate. In that Mr. Wigneswaran urges to voters to vote for those with certain qualities – as defined by him. Mr. Wigneswaran did not name the party / individuals who qualified but one could identify them to be the TNA leaders. A case of ‘Do as I say and as I do?’ – which brought down former Premier of New South Wales the Hon Nick Greiner. Politicians have to be specific in terms of giving form. Governors have to be philosophic with least form. After I identified with this conflict, I received from a Diaspora group the following:

Cockroach Theory- A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai.

Aug 12, 2015

A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai - an IIT-MIT Alumnus and Global Head Google Chrome:
The cockroach theory for self development. At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady.
She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but . . . it landed on another lady in the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.

The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant. Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior? If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos. It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the ladies. I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.

It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.
More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.

Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life.
I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.
A beautiful way to understand............LIFE.
Person who is HAPPY is not because Everything is RIGHT in his Life..
He is HAPPY because his Attitude towards Everything in his Life is Right..!!

Senior SolidWorks Specialist at CAD MicroSolutions Inc

My response included the following:

I note also that the story below refers to ‘women’ against the male waiter  - as if women are more emotional and therefore reactive while  men are less emotional and therefore more responsive.

True – but emotions based on belief are never wrong. Like in politics, we just need time to know the other side. In this cockroach example – the other side is that it was unhygienic for the cockroach to be there in the restaurant in the first instance. The women through their reaction were sending that message. The waiter by reacting to the fear of status downfall also could be taken as reacting. He ought to have apologized and owned the problem for his action to qualify as response.

Some in this forum use bad words like cockroaches. Only a few have taken ownership of the problem and responded in my matters.’

Are the Tamil Political Leaders claiming and confirming in action -  Separation – reacting to Sinhalese Political Leaders who made that claim first through physical possession/occupation?  Where are the responders and believers who need no definition? In that first speech referred to above Mr. Wigneswaran mentions that the group that challenged him was a ladies’ group. So is this writer!
Using Hindu example – Shiva depicts consciousness of Truth. Shakthi depict the Energy. This Energy is accumulated through accepting lesser status than the Leader in Partnership for the same level of contribution. Minorities who have lesser status than their partners in leadership – accumulate Energy which is the natural force that works the Structure that represents the Form of Truth. Every Shiva temple would communicate this message to the true believer.

Mr Rajapaksa's loss stemmed in part from a slick and well-funded UNP campaign, aided by Lynton Crosby, the Australian political strategist who masterminded David Cameron's victory in Britain's general election this year. Getty Images

Australian Winning Sri Lankan Elections?

My attention was directed to the article ‘Lynton Crosby helps mastermind Sri Lanka election victory’ in the Financial Review. If believed to be true – then Sri Lankan voters are not attributed the credit for  manifesting this outcome through their belief including through suffering and endurance because we are owners with the ability to seek and find our own solutions. Majority Sri Lankans carry the effects of such suffering in one form or the other.   Given that I contribute continuously  at various levels through my belief as Sri Lankan, for Sri Lankans to uphold our  Sovereignty – I am not able to identify with the above judgment by Australian media.
To my mind the victory happened due to undischarged suffering at grassroots level which was identified with, by the educated leaders of Sri Lankan society.  Given that Mr. Lynton Crosby’s credit is published  on the claim that he is Australian – fellow Australians may allocate Belief based credit to him for doing a good job. But elections are about facilitating the Belief of majority. It is not about clever advertising and promotion. It should not be for the election to qualify as being fair and free. If such voting is truly based on belief – there would be harmony in that society. Every voter with leadership abilities promises to be part of the Governing Force. Every voter who seeks to be a good citizen receives shareholding in Good Governance by earning the facilities used by her/him on equal basis as a member of the Governing force. The highest way to earn that status is by being grateful for the opportunity to enjoy the facilities without having directly paid the cost  to enjoy them. Gratitude fills the shortfall and renders the opportunity to have higher leadership and realize wholesome governance at the higher level. This is facilitated by the higher contributor to good-governance, being allocated higher status by the beneficiary. When the higher contributor is respected as leader – there is structural confirmation of Good-Governance. When such respect is confirmed through true belief – the Believer and the Believed merge to become One. That is the ultimate goal of self-governance.
One who expresses within her/his belief renders absolute value to the expressions and actions based on such belief. Outside the boundaries of Belief,  credit must be allocated through common measures equally applicable to both sides. On that basis – an Australian is entitled to make such statement only if s/he has contributed to the Sri Lankan system of administration and/or  business – measured by global principles and values. Contribution to Sri Lankan Public Administration at policy level – is the highest measure of relativity – needed by outsiders.
James Crabtree the author of the above Financial Review  article states:
Mr Rajapaksa's loss stemmed in part from a slick and well-funded UNP campaign, aided by Lynton Crosby, the Australian political strategist who masterminded David Cameron's victory in Britain's general election this year.
Not one voter known to me was aware of Mr. Crosby’s influence – leave alone believing in him. Majority  voters known to me are very much Sri Lankans or of lower ‘outsider’  status in this issue. Only a few are global. Election is about manifesting the belief of majority in a sovereign group. Hence if indeed Mr. Crosby influenced the election outcomes – he must be more Sri Lankan than Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe or it was job based cleverness in highlighting the Nation’s need of Mr. Wickremesinghe’s services.
An outsider cannot influence true and lasting outcomes through free and fair voting. The Australian media is not only taking value away from genuine voters and the forces of belief that worked through them, but they are also  confirming ignorance of the fundamentals of Politics. This kind of ‘taking’ earns one the karma of ineligible  refugee applicants using cleverness to ‘steal’ the places of those who have earned the right to global facilities. Such karma is earned by every Australian in leadership position.   Only one with Belief as Australian could offset this karma when it is not corrected during the lifetime of the matter. A wrong thus becomes a sin outside the control of human measures.
As a believing Sri Lankan I identify with the personal victory of Mr. Wicremesinghe to be partly due to Colombo residents becoming more and more global. Mr. Crosby’s work would have helped give it good global structure. Outside Colombo – not many voters are global conscious. Most continue to be local and are strongly influenced by local leadership. Such representation suits Sri Lankans because most of them are tradition driven rather than being global. This is why even in Jaffna, in Northern Sri Lanka,  which claims to be high investor in Education – ownership rights are recognized more through Land than through commitment to global policies.
In rural Sri Lanka, possession often overrides legal ownership for this reason. A Colombo Judge upheld prescriptive rights claimed by a ‘not so well educated guy’ – who occupied our land. The period of Belief Based uninterrupted occupation claimed  by that person covered not only the period when I had surveyed and bought the land through lawful process, but also the period when my predecessor Mr. A T Benedict- Chartered Accountant of high professional standing - bought the land. In addition – the adjoining land was bought by Ms. Ramachandra – the sister of former Senior DIG Police – Ramachandra Suntheralingam. None of this evidence manifested by educated folks seemed to have been taken into account by the Sinhalese Judge – Mr. Balapatabendi. But my Truth was upheld by fellow Sri Lankans (not Australians) who demoted Mr. Balapatabendi’s public status earlier this year. That is how, true belief helps us bring about ‘closure’. If I had not believed I would not have gotten to know about this downfall. At belief level – the verdict in the court of Natural Justice has already happened. Now it is for us as observers to check whether or not the Judicial system of Sri Lanka  would confirm this outcome. Belief based judgement is never wrong and always delivers the right outcomes for the believer. If the Sri Lankan Judicial system does not deliver – we the Public who truly respected and practiced the law would identify with the downfalls of the Judiciary – including at the level of Chief Justice and know why the downfall happened. We are often the marginal force – the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
To my mind, the current Sri Lankan election outcomes are based on belief and not on cleverness. Only common belief would sustain good governance. Cleverness when used selfishly often leads to bad governance. In a country where majority are driven by belief rather than intellectual discrimination – cleverness is often used to take credit from the poor who may be ignorant but are often the media through whom Truth is manifested due to local belief – including through one’s religion. This may be difficult for one without such cultural belief to appreciate due to common knowledge being used for selfish purposes.

Sri Lankans need to know that we brought about these outcomes. That is our need of this time of active performance. Every true Sri Lankan must denounce this credit being unjustly taken by powerful outsiders.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 20 Aug  2015

Political Leadership

A highly educated Sri Lankan Diaspora Leader and higher thinker wrote yesterday in relation to the Parliamentary Election outcome:
Match over! Viva Sri Lanka. Her people suffered a lot. I urge all Tamils to support Ranil unreservedly to rebuild our country. TNA must lead the way.’

The writer signed off as grandson and great-grandson of Tamil Leaders of the past. I liked that very much because today’s Sri Lanka is made up of all those contributions – positive as well as negative. This is why we Australians attribute credit as a policy in terms of Land - to Indigenous Australians. This is a positive way of saying sorry without diminishing the current contribution of migrants. It’s all about  attributing credit for belief based ‘structures’. Land is the most permanent structure and those who work / use the land need to attribute credit to the extent of their knowledge of first  ownership. This is the basis of the principles of ‘Terra Nullius’ in relation to Nations such as Australia and ‘Prescriptive Rights’ in relation to Sri Lankan Land Ownership. Like in matters of Land, elections are high in belief and are strongly influenced by Believers. At all angles – one who believes and limits her/his ownership claim to such belief – is supported by Natural Justice. One who uses belief through a lower/smaller part - to take credit at the higher level – loses such support and is limited by the vagaries of the human mind. The mind strongly influenced by the seen and the heard keeps changing more quickly than the mind that is intellectually driven. The mind driven by Truth is the most steady mind.

During media analysis of  Election outcomes in Jaffna – the poor numbers by Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam – leader of  All Ceylon Tamil Congress – a member of the Tamil National People’s Front (TNPA) was discussed – relative to the high number of votes earned by him when his party was part of TNA (Tamil National Alliance). Like Tradition in the case of the above mentioned Educated  Diaspora Leader – one’s belief connects to the belief of others in terms of structures also. LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) members are part of both broader structures – TNA as well as TNPA.  The message delivered through these outcomes is that LTTE on its own does not have validity in an environment where people are voting of their own free will.  LTTE knew this and hence during their lifetime as armed leaders - they blocked the voting process itself. This karma against free voting structure is carried by every LTTE member and their Associates – including within TNA. But within TNA the contributions to Law and Order and more importantly the adherence to the Political pathway are far greater due to traditional pathway – which like the land, takes on its power due to heritage. If Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam had inherited his grandfather’s contribution to the legal system he would have been at least equal level competitor to the leader of  ITAK (Illangai Tamil Arasu Kachchi)  . The flow of Tradition was broken when alliance with LTTE was made.  Mr. GG Ponnambalam – the founding leader of All Ceylon Tamil Congress gained his political clout through his wins in the legal world. He would have lost his political leadership without these victories in the legal arena.  Likewise LTTE lost its leadership clout when it ceased to show armed victories.
Those who suffered due to official excesses – finally confirmed in 2009 through global eyes – had the strongest vote through a Natural Voting system. This is NOT the Diaspora calling for the downfall of the Government – especially LTTE members and supporters of the Diaspora who were part of the cause of that suffering. All those who went overseas as refugees have compensated themselves. It is the ones who continue to live with that threat who had/have  most entitlement – absolute entitlement in the case of innocent civilians – in  a natural voting system. The 2015 election outcomes have confirmed that LTTE is a negative force for Tamils. Civilians may attribute blame only on the Government but the system that works Naturally – would allocate the karma on true basis. Only one who is true to her/himself would identify with the true causes and natural outcomes. All belief based outcomes are natural. Each time a war related outcome is expressed, the debits and credits would be allocated to the true owners who caused the war. If a Tamil civilian had been  asked at the beginning in a True and Natural environment -  ‘Do you want war in which the risks of defeat and death of your own children are high or do you want to continue living the way you are – as a minority’ the response would have been ‘I want status quo with all its weaknesses.’ That is how Tamils now live. To the extent they are not influenced by either side – they – especially those who have paid the price of war -  would lead natural outcomes. As per the recent election outcomes – LTTE has been demoted by Tamil People taken as a whole.

Ms Shenali Waduge has highlighted her ignorance of the Natural system as follows:

[Fundamental Rights violation: JVP with 543,944 has only 6 seats while ITAK with 515,963 has 16 seats

This is to raise a very important issue. In looking at results of the 2015 Parliamentary election results there is a very clear discrepancy at play. How is it that an ITAK has secured 16 seats (14 + 2 bonus seats) while the JVP contesting all island has secured just 6 seats (4 + 2 bonus)?

ITAK is an ethnic party vying for a separate state as envisaged repeatedly through its manifestos since 2001, 2004, 2010 and once again in 2015. ITAK links with LTTE have never been investigated. ITAK’s constitution itself is currently being questioned as not been federal but confederal though it poses as the Federal Party in the English translation of its party.

Nevertheless, it is a mockery on the election system where allocation of seats discriminate the votes received and this is best seen in the current election results highlighted below.

It is suggested that this be taken up at the highest levels as it is a violation of the equality in franchise where disproportionate number of seats is being allocated to a party which has less votes as can be seen in the below All Island results.

Why should ITAK which has 27981 votes less than the JVP get 16 seats while JVP has only 6 seats. This does not make logical sense at all to the voters and makes a mockery of the electoral system. It is wrong by the political party contesting as well as by the voters casting their vote.]

The voting system works to deliver to a believer - as per Natural laws. Natural laws work as per true belief.  In terms of separation JVP which also fought through arms and therefore Separation from Politics -  is the parallel of LTTE. It did not by its belief represent the whole of  Sinhalese, leave alone whole of Sri Lankans. Just because JVP contested all Island does not mean that it truly represented all Island. Belief renders that to any person/group. UNP with Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe  representing Common Colombo culture - is the party that comes closest to representing the whole. Without strong Administration – a multicultural group does not have true leadership of the whole. It need not be Administration by law – which actually becomes negative when used without belief in the law.  Beyond belief in the law – one needs to act as per one’s Truth to earn the support of Natural Justice and  be a good Administrator.

Ms Waduge’s expressions could be taken as fear that Tamil leader may be the Opposition leader. This was a reality in 1977 – through numbers.  This time if it did happen it would be a reality through Natural Justice – due to the Constitutional provisions – as crafted by Politicians who did not represent the whole in real values. That is how the good among the victims return the karma to the perpetrators.

At the primary level – leadership is measured through money. At the secondary level – it is measured through Status within a common group. At the tertiary level – it is by Policy. The above observation confirms that the policy by makers of law failed to serve their own group. Counting the votes-only without reference to policy is also like leadership through money. Such measures would certainly separate and one who uses such measures is driven by separatism – including at family level.

If on the other hand, Tamil leader becomes Leader of the Opposition – that would compensate quite a bit of the negative karma earned by the former government which has proven to be a separatist government – promising more war victories and therefore wars. It would be a shame if a Tamil leader like Mr. Sampanthan with his commitment to law and order and preserving what he believes to be his traditional homeland does not become the Leader of the Opposition for the whole of Sri Lanka.

Our commitment to law and order is relative to another’s. Our belief in our homeland – however small it may be – is of absolute value. If there is no such believer amongst politicians – the combination of the two must be applied. Commitment to Leadership by policy would be confirmed by such higher status through such combination.

This has been confirmed for the Sinhalese side by Mr. Wickremesinghe and for Tamils by Mr. Sampathan. Taking leadership credit -  merely on votes - there are many others leading Mr. Sampathan in Tamil Community taken as a whole. Elections are to identify with belief based leadership.  Political divisions are therefore made as per land, culture and policy. Even one policy level owner earns absolute value leadership for that area s/he  believes in. Natural Justice will always deliver to that person sooner or later. During my adult life – this is the best possible outcome that the  believer in me identifies with.   Sri Lankans would influence the outcomes at total level through voters who are connected to them through common belief – not only through politics but every common activity – most of all through law and order at national level. Mr. Rajapaksa lost due to abuse of the status which required highest commitment to law and order by the leader. Obviously if he had become the leader – one would have needed to conclude that there were not enough believers in the Whole of Sri Lanka. Defeating the LTTE was not a national issue. Defeating all groups that used arms as their weapons is the National issue. The People have shown their belief through this 2015 elections. Politicians must give recognition to those believers above those who call for / work for separation of any kind. TNA lost the confidence of the people – especially such believers in the whole – by failing to respect the workings of the whole and continuing to call for separation. One way to prevent such loss and therefore the resurgence of ethnic war – is for TNA also to think of the whole through law and order or through Opposition Leadership for the Whole. One who believes in Truth will facilitate this on one side and accept it, on the other. Like TNA being the wider structure – Sri Lanka would become the wider land and culture for the side that appreciates this value.  Every politician who participated in elections has the responsibility to commit to the whole structure and not part only.

For the Sinhalese – this commitment to facilitate the leadership of the other side would negate the need for  global actions through war-related policy breaches. That would be confirmation of Sri Lanka’s Sovereignty.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 17 Aug  2015

Natural Voters

Fellow Australian of Sri Lankan origin, Professor Michael Roberts forwarded to me, the article Collective Memorials, Anniversaries and Reflection … at Sites & Endings of Violenceby Mr.  Tissa Jayatilaka. Given that it is Election time in Sri Lanka, I consider this to be a time when I can strengthen the commitment to Policy on behalf of all those who are bound to me through common values as Sri Lankans. I believe through my own experiences that when I believe and seek through that belief, someone at grassroots level delivers. This was proven to be so even yesterday when we celebrated Aadi-Pooram at  our temple in Thunaivi, in Northern Sri Lanka. In that instance I was upset with our regular coordinator because he was not committed to time and when I pointed this out by using our policy – he argued through his own convenience. I was reminded of the Vice Chancellor of  the University of New South Wales saying in relation to Democratic Resource Management system – that the existing system was his reality.  But at Thunaivi – I was rewarded by a lady who also believed in the power of Mother Kali – performing the rituals yesterday – as if the temple was hers and yet doing so within our guidelines – including in terms of time and staying within her  position boundaries. That to me was an endorsement of my success in developing Common Facilities in that area – on the basis of Common Faith merged with relevant Common Laws. It was as if I had asked her to do this when our regular coordinator had other priorities. I did not ask her and yet it happened. That is the value of genuine investment in Common Faith and/or Policy. In democracy – leaders have to first have common belief as the people and hence election through voting system. If people are tempted to vote for benefits this Natural Power of Common Belief is suppressed and neglected. Hence the wars against Government in Sri Lanka.

In his article, Mr. Tissa Jayatilaka highlights  this issue as follows:
Circumstances have changed after the violence and war that began decades ago and came to an end in 2009. Yet, should not we question the nature of the Sri Lankan state?  Will Sri Lanka become more inclusive and ensure that the rights and dignity of all of its citizens are respected? Or will one segment of Sri Lanka continue to dominate the rest and perpetuate the endless struggle for domination which will lead eventually to mutual ruin?  Should not we seek to transform and democratize the state so as to make demands for separation irrelevant?’
The question is who is to Democratize whom? What happens when the Government / Management is not seriously committed to Democracy? While it is true that in Democracy, we all have the right to interpret law and order as per our thought order, it is true also that if one did that in areas where subjective power is strong – those of us who are committed to non-violence are punished by those subjective powers and others who insist on going ahead without commitment to non-violence, begin a war. In Common – at the physical level - both are rebels. The former’s contribution goes direct to Policy and the latter’s to separation. In Sri Lanka the rebellions down South – to the extent they violated others’ earned rights – including those in Government - led to Internal Separations.
Who then is the winner and how is that measured? This is the crucial question for Sri Lanka now.
The common principle I discovered in this regard about the system of Truth is:
1)      When we are financially self-sufficient – we promote ourselves to manage Human Resources. Hence if we sacrifice earned benefits at the financial level – we earn higher status.
2)      When we are self-sufficient in terms of status / human resources – we get promoted to Policy level.
3)      Policy level is ownership level and hence one who punishes or rewards after having earned this level – is right for that system and invokes Universal Powers in support. At religious level they are known as Saints and most are never officially recognized. Their real powers are stronger than the powers of those who accept status and consciously use it in Administering and Managing. This is also the power of the vote of the self-governing voter – not only during election time – but all the time to invoke majority power. Those of us who feel ownership in Sri Lanka invoke such powers in all those who are largely self-governing in Sri Lanka. Hence today we vote through them.
Mr. Tissa Jayatilaka states about the mind order of the Sinhalese and the Tamil:
[For the Sinhala person, even at the risk of brutally reducing the stakes here,  the soldier not only represents  the hero  who sacrificed life and limb to safeguard the Motherland and the security of the Sinhalese, but they  are also, and quite literally,  the sons of the rural poor in the Sinhala heartland. For the Tamil, that soldier represents  the murderer who killed their kith and kin. In other words,  with the same force  that the Tamils would seek justice for the loss of their loved ones, the Sinhalese would continue to see in the soldier the image of  a saviour.
This is the dreadful limit of the term ‘accountability. How will the Sinhala men and women in the south ever agree to a process whereby those who are held accountable  for the crimes would be punished?  Any attempt at a forcible enactment of an investigatory body- – domestic or ‘international’ – – will only ever strengthen Sinhala Buddhist extremism, giving rise in turn to politicians who would manipulate these sentiments.]
If we go back a little – and applied this also to the Tamil families who were punished through their  sons and daughters with the ‘Terrorism’ label  at global level - for their rebellion against  the Government, we would identify with the excess at Policy level. That excess to my mind  is the force of ethnicity based discrimination which is Natural with a person who is strongly attached to her/his Religion at the physical representation level but enjoys power to Administer members of other religions. War related excesses on both sides happened due to this component in areas where one side was conscious of majority power due to ‘possession’. Such recruits on both sides whose numbers were high at the last stages of the war – were not bound by Common National Policy. A true Buddhist who believes in Karma would connect any punishment – to the pain and damage endured  by Tamils due to the Terrorism label  at global level initiated  by the Sri Lankan Government and its supporters. The return would not have happened without Tamils having earned credits in practice of Equal Opportunity policies – not to impress others and get status but because they respected global living. I fully believe that I am one such source.
In addition – any punishment by global authorities would not affect the average Sri Lankan soldier who joins the armed forces to earn money rather than to protect National Security. Such Policy thoughts have validity only where we have invested in Common Nation. If one were to ask a parent of  a Sinhalese soldier – s/he would demonstrate equal level pain as the parent of a Tamil rebel or for that matter of a Sinhalese rebel. Sinhalese leaders are now experiencing the pain that we Tamil leaders experienced due to the Terrorism label. To the extent we invested in policy – the return happened through the system of Karma.
I believe that my contribution to Equal Opportunity policies and values at the highest level possible in Australia has promoted me to be a member of that global community that has the greater power to return in terms of global activities. I invoke the powers of that community anywhere there is a need as per my feelings. Hence I believe that my primary responsibility now is to maintain that investment at global policy level. Likewise, when Sinhalese leaders who practice  Equal Opportunity policies feel the need to protect their soldiers – they would invoke naturally the power of others – including Tamils who believe in Multiculturalism and its pathway of Equal Opportunity. Those who are highly conscious of majority power and its parallel at the individual level - the power through physical possession - would not be able to invoke those global powers naturally through their Truth.   Those who seek separation at the physical level – be they Tamils or Sinhalese – would need to live within their local means and not access/accept global resources. When they accept – they ‘owe’ the global community and when such owing is not settled during current period – it becomes negative karma which can only be offset by positive karma and not through current correction using authority.
The pain and loss endured by Tamils due to minority status in Sri Lanka – led to Tamils becoming ‘owners’ of Sri Lanka. Whether this is acknowledged or not by others or even Tamils themselves – it works naturally to invoke the powers of all true Sri Lankans. Why would we seek separation when they own the whole?

Most of us use a combination of the official system and our personal belief to realize independence at national level. So long as we expect within our genuine and true investment – we would always be successful – ultimately at Policy level.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 13 Aug  2015

Is Sri Lanka Part of India?

The rented accommodation in Colombo had cable TV and when I turned it on – most of them were Indian channels. In Jaffna too – I was struck by the greater Indian influence. During my stay in Colombo I thought more and more about whether culturally Sri Lanka was becoming part of India – losing its own individuality? My attention was drawn this morning to the Sunday Leader article ‘Hanuman’s Bridge — A Bombshell Before Elections’ by Gamini Weerakoon, in which he states:

Addressing a press conference held at the Abeyarama Temple  in Narahenpita (the cradle of contemporary political balderdash) Amarasekera as co- chairman of the Federation of National Organisations had warned that the the bridge was definitely a biggest challenge (sic) Sri Lanka would have to face in the future.  It would ‘heavily damage’ the territorial integrity of Sri Lanka and some powers were trying to annex Sri Lanka to India through the bridges (sic), he had noted.

The question of ‘Territorial Integrity’ is naturally linked to Sovereignty. Sovereignty itself is determined at three levels:

1.      The physical – through separation of Land in this instance
2.      Through Law commonly accepted by all concerned
3.      Through Belief.

This morning I received communication from a Diaspora leader about criticism some parts of  Tamil Diaspora, of  Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam on the basis of what happened in a local environment. My response to the Diaspora leader was:

It is indeed disappointing that Diaspora leaders are stooping down to using ‘what happened’ as their weapons. It is understandable that Politicians in Sri Lanka  would do this now as it is election time. But the Diaspora’s value is at its best when it expresses as per its Truth and/or through global principles in Administration. Then whatever happens at the local level – we would be winners.

The above communication led me to listen to what Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam had to say. His statements included reference to UN definition of ‘Nation’. As per UN:

[The nation-state "is one where the great majority are conscious of a common identity and share the same culture" ]

Hence the question needs to be asked whether Hindu Sri Lankans form natural Nation with Hindu India and Buddhists  form natural Nation with Buddhist China? Do these Natural Forces influence internal conflicts? If yes, how does a government override such natural influences to promote Nationalism within Political Boundaries?

To limit Nationhood to physical boundaries is to limit the person to the body. When such a person becomes the leader – the whole is led by body consciousness and suffers miserable old age due to excessive enjoyment at the physical level – as Sri Lanka is now suffering in parts where we have such leadership. Nation State as defined above, in today’s multicultural society strongly influenced by democratic rights,  is an unreality. Like the law of Thesawalamai in Northern Sri Lanka - it would suit people who live locally – benefiting from local powers and paying their dues / costs to enjoy those benefits. Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam may live in Jaffna but his mind has used global resources – especially English Law. The language in which Common Law is practiced in Jaffna at the primary level is Tamil but the principles are largely English and Roman-Dutch laws. If therefore one keeps using Political pathways – one would limit oneself to the body of Governance. This is ok if one does not claim rights as a global person. The number of Sri Lankans emigrating to countries where neither Buddhism nor Hinduism is religion of majority – confirm that there are not many Sri Lankans who are entitled to use Tradition as their claim. Tradition would naturally empower from within when we are true to that tradition. But it must not be ‘shown’ to get credit in a multi-traditional society. During election time local politicians could claim this but only to the extent they are purely local and the people their share the value with do NOT seek global benefits and experiences. That was the way Ganesh – the elder son of Hindu Family won the prize mango – symbolizing realization of eternity through the Traditional pathway.

Muruga the younger  son – like minority Tamils - went around the World – and when there was no prize for Him – He renounced His entitlement to Family wealth and set up His own empire from Zero Base. By following the rules Muruga fulfilled the requirements as set down by the leaders and yet when He could not win the stipulated prize He chose the alternate pathway – to make self-declaration that He was the winner as per His interpretation. He did not take revenge nor take handouts but set up His own empire on the basis of His ability to Observe. There can be only one winner at the physical level but all those who have truly won become Observers and therefore are above those who are being observed – including Parents / Governments who set the rules.  But once we take revenge – or take handouts from others -  we lose this entitlement to take Observer status as global family. THIS is the real risk of Diaspora communities who influence wars in their countries of origin through interference using money power. Raising our thoughts to Policy level naturally prevents us from interfering. We become the Natural UN for those local communities. By using that Observer status – we settle our debts to those communities through the exponential express pathway.

Leaders who want it easy – tend to use old ways to cling to power. They fail to change as per the real changes in their environment. They want the benefits of those changes – for example global money power but not the Policies.

Both Hinduism and Buddhism recognize the system of Karma. As per this system – we carry our own individual god within ourselves – commonly known as our conscience. Ultimately we are regulated by this god within. This god within has the same power as God – the Universal Power. Hence this god within carries our true virtues and sins. The strongest of these are the ones that are performed / accumulated when we think we are ‘free’ of external supervision.

To the extent Sri Lankans believe in Buddhism and/or Hinduism the origin of their belief is Indian. When does a Buddhist or Hindu become Independent of this origin? When does the child become independent of the parent? Is Australia independent of England?

Just yesterday, I wrote to a young and ambitious member of the Thunaivi Community in Northern Sri Lanka, that he needed to settle his debt to Thunaivi to get promoted to Vaddukoddai (the Land where the first Political declaration of Tamil Independence was made). Likewise, I believe that to become independent of our parents/origins – we need to settle our debts to them. In terms of migration, we need to settle our debt to our country of origin to progress naturally to global level. In terms of family – we need to settle our debt to Service Providers within the family to become independent of the family. A debt is settled by:

(1)   Money wealth
(2)   Status respect
(3)   Belief that we are One.

An adult child who feels that the problems of the parents is hers/his – completes the relationship to become family. If one is not able to so believe – one must settle one’s debt by paying money and/or through allocation of higher status to the parent in Common groups. This leads to structural independence. Once we take up a position, we are independent of the individual person. Thus minorities could be independent by remaining minorities and showing that position and working within the boundaries of that position. This is my discovery here in Australia. I now tend to take the position allocated to me by the person with officially higher ranking. This relieves me of leadership responsibilities. I become wholesome without conflict, by limiting my visible contribution to the actual position allocated by the other person. Where we expect ‘promotion’ by the senior – we would tend to go beyond this limit. This breeds expectations – especially leadership expectations. When such expectations are not met – we feel disappointed and depressed or take revenge.

If for our own sake, we seek to contribute more – we need to first complete that relationship and become Equal to the senior. By paying our dues – through money and status respect – we become ‘even’ / common in that system that allocated us the junior position. Once we become Common we are Equal Leaders. But to earn this entitlement we should no longer  expect benefits from any part of that relationship but submit our unrewarded work contribution to ownership. We would then fill the gap through feelings of ownership. Those who are truly self-sufficient would do that even though initially they may tend to be emotional due to the ‘gap’ between costs and benefits.

Separation of Powers facilitates such Equal status and diversity. Hence the Separation between the Executive and the Judiciary. Likewise between those of different cultures. Common pathways – such as Global principles and values need to be strong to override religious and land-based cultural habits. Weakness in this area contributed strongly to the ethnic war in Sri Lanka.

Migrants of Sri Lankan origin  need to pay their dues to their Service Providers in Sri Lanka as a first step towards progressing to becoming global. These Service Providers could be:

(1)   Individuals
(2)   Positions
(3)   Policies

As per my god within - by practicing the Professional Principles and Values I learnt as a Sri Lankan – AND – by attributing credit to Sri Lanka – I settled my dues to Sri Lanka at the highest level and became whole Sri Lankan ready to be global. Likewise, by attributing credit to Australia where I learnt as Australian – for example Equal Opportunity principles and values. If Australia through its Policies had not been officially committed to Equal Opportunity principles and values – then I would have needed to allocate higher status to senior Australians – to confirm structural ‘settlement’ of benefits received as a junior. Instead I stated my claim as an Equal through the legal process. Majority migrants from Sri Lanka – known to me – are of former category. Likewise, majority Tamils and majority Sinhalese when they migrate to various parts of Sri Lanka where the other has majority power and/or traditional power. The reason is lack of investment in Equal Opportunity principles and values by those who get into leadership positions through the subjective pathway.

In Vaddukkoddai where the first Political Declaration of Tamil Independence was made – I am treated as an ‘outsider’ by those who consider Vaddukkoddai to be their ‘traditional’ area. But ‘thinking’ and ‘believing’ are not often the same. Truth is the basis of belief.  As a believer – I take my ‘minority’ position as ‘outsider’ in Vaddukkoddai and the rest of my contribution beyond my ‘position’ requirements – is naturally promoted as ‘ownership’ contribution. Until recently – I did not appreciate how this system worked and hence felt hurt and upset when I was not recognized on merit basis. Now I fully appreciate – that to the extent I contributed of my own free will and did so genuinely – I am able to work the ownership powers in that area – to my satisfaction – which is to know the Truth. Knowing and accepting the Truth settles all scores to render inner Peace. My inner god who keeps account of my true contributions and sacrifices, shows me the Truth at the maximum point where the person concerned would deliver as per her/his position. But in the past I continued to expect as per their promises and the system’s promises and failed to recognize the Truth that was there for me to recognize. Now I quickly look within – often through meditation and know the limits – whether I should leave or the other should leave.

Thus, through my Truth I observe the other’s Truth and therefore do not expect to be recognized beyond that person’s true status. The rest of their contribution is irrelevant to me and I shut my mind to it.

India is the origin of religious leadership of majority Sri Lankans. Majority in India are Hindus and hence to that extent believers in Hinduism would participate naturally in Indian leadership. A Buddhist who believes would not seek separation but  would, at regional level take minority position to confirm structure.

A Sri Lankan who is yet to believe s/he is Sri Lankan would need this structural positioning to function in a multicultural environment. So long as we fulfill our duties as per our positions – we are wholesome – and therefore are equal owners of the whole. Thus the Vice Chancellor / CEO / Head of State is equal to the toilet cleaner (Pariah) who believes in the whole. A Vice Chancellor / CEO / Head of State who is yet to complete her/his position duties  is of lesser status than the Pariah who has promoted her/himself to ownership level. At belief  level – the contribution is exponential. Such a person would invoke the power of Truth – as I believe I did at the University of New South Wales and later contributed to Mr. John Howard losing his seat. I believe I as a strong marginal force in both instances. The Judiciary did not uphold my judgment but Natural Powers of Ownership did. The wider the ‘gap’ between Costs and Benefits the stronger this power of Ownership working to uphold the Truth of the real owner and against the leader who failed to deliver as per his position.

At primary level – it is one to one and is driven by visible majority. At secondary level – the value is weighted as per the position hierarchy. A leader  who is politically driven would find it difficult to fill the gap to become true owner. The Opportunity Cost of high positions through subjective influence is this weak ownership power.

Thus, one who is a true Hindu in Sri Lanka would find it easier to reach the Belief stage more quickly than a Buddhist who relies on majority power or Constitutional support. Such Hindus would Naturally invoke the leadership powers of India – and one does not need a bridge to do this. One who abuses majority power in Sri Lanka would fear majority power in neighboring countries. As we sow, so shall we reap.

Tamils do not need separation to invoke this power of wider world. All they need is Belief.

Talking about Belief – I was pleasantly surprised to see the paintings of the last king of Kandy - Sri Vikrama Rajasinha wearing a Pottu and looking very much a Tamil – adorning the walls of the hotel where I stayed this time in Colombo as the relative I usually stay with had gone overseas. I was surprised because the painting of the throne that I published at  http://austms.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/king-zeid-raad-al-husseinof-lanka-as.html   was welcoming me as if I were family! That is the power of Belief.  That to me was ownership power in UN.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 08 Aug  2015

Globalism the Opportunity Cost of Nationalism

I took the Yarl-Devi (Jaffna Lady) from Jaffna to Colombo. I thanked former President Mahinda Rajapaksa for restoring the Railway Services between Jaffna and Colombo. Most train seats are fairly well booked in advance and to my mind, this meant that Tamils were not economically that badly off. I was able to secure a seat in the Observation Car – the most expensive section of Yarl-Devi.

I went to Jaffna Railway station to book my seat and was disappointed that I could not get a seat in the Inter-City express. Hence the decision to go by Yarl-Devi. At the station itself there were two queues and I joined the shorter one. I waited for the lady in the longer queue to be served. When it was my turn the officer asked me to join the queue. I was genuinely mistaken that there were two queues and grudgingly I joined the longer queue.  I usually do not like to break queues but if there seems to be shorter one – I do tend to join that. Obviously this time around it was a mistake. But by waiting in the shorter one, I happened to hear the lady in the longer queue inquire about the Observation Car. To me THAT was the real value that invited me to join the shorter queue which indeed was not an official queue. But the value was good. The Observation Car was quite spacious and I could exercise my feet and prevent them from swelling up. On my way from Colombo to Jaffna even though I bought the most expensive ticket on that train I suffered due to lack of leg-space and also due to lack of help with my baggage when the train reached Jaffna. It was as if Jaffna Lady was influencing me to travel with her.  To some this may seem a mere coincidence and my thinking to be in the order of superstition. But given that I was in ‘Service mode’ – making  ‘ownership’ contribution at the higher level in Northern Sri Lanka, it was belief based outcome. Later when I actually boarded the train – I noticed many being sent to the General First Class Cars. I concluded that if not for that queue-break I also would have travelled the less comfortable way. The Goddess of Communication seemed to have blessed me.

In Global systems one is required to be Objective in one’s approach. If one is able to invoke the powers / intelligence needed by one and residing in a Service Provider – both official and/or unofficial – then that person who so invokes is Global for that issue. I concluded that I was Global in the issue of Communication. I write practically every day because I believe that it would help someone somewhere. Truth is the basis of such power and Truth is Universal.

When the auto-rickshaw taxi-driver heard about my difficulty he said he could have gotten me a seat with Rs 200 extra. I just said I was happy with Yarl-Devi even though it took about 3 hours more than the Inter-City Express. To me it was my return karma for not paying two porters at Chennai Railway Station in 1997. They promised us seats by jumping into the arriving train and ‘catching’ seats. I firmly declined and waited in the queue. Little did I know that that queue system was largely symbolic for the first part only. The police officers meant to regulate the queue, left after that point and then everyone rushed to ‘catch’ the seats. My husband managed to get into the train but I was so upset that I just froze. Param urged me to get in and I eventually managed to get in. I stood standing for a while and then a gentleman urged others to make room for me. I sat down and started writing a letter to the General Manager of Indian Railways. Little did I know that the Indian system worked more in Belief than on Intellectual Administration. My husband stood most of the way to our destination – Madurai where we were seeking to get the Blessings of Mother Madurai Meenatchi. I kept the letter in my bag to be posted later but somehow it went missing! I felt that my adherence to the official system in India is included in the positive karma of me getting seats on Yarl-Devi and travelling comfortably.

On the morning of travel, our auto-rickshaw driver loaded my baggage and placed them on the overhead racks.   Later – a Tamil guy said the larger one of them might fall down for the movement of the train. I asked him to help me bring it down and he said he would wait and see. I was still anxious and asked the Sinhalese officer who helped me wind up the window. The Sinhalese officer quietly helped me bring the larger piece down. To me this meant that a Sinhalese officer was more global  than a Tamil civilian. To me it was no coincidence that I was helped by this Officer. During times of  heavy checking by armed officers, I usually had strong expectations in my mind for the officers to do their duty.  I now realize that because I am duty driven in my jobs / positions – I am able to invoke the officer in the person on the other side.

I appreciate more deeply why Lord Krishna said to Prince Arjuna to do his duty – including to fight against his own granduncle Bhismar– who was the Commander of the Opposition forces and his guru Thronar – also a lead fighter on the other side. Lord Krishna said Bhismar & Thronar  would expect that of Arjuna. When we are emotional / physically driven – we influence those who are physically close to us and those who are physically like us. This was the power that the Rajapaksas had over Tamil Tigers. They both relied strongly on their armed power. The problem with that is  that the side with stronger consciousness of majority power would influence the other when the other is off-guard.

Administration and/or Truth renders the minority side additional power to prevent this influence of look-alikes/emotions. Those who have facilitated migrants, develop such resistance through practice of Equal Opportunity principles.

There was a young Indian Tamil couple in the seats in front of mine. They looked very modern and ‘global’. But gradually I noticed that the guy was resting his bare feet on the seat across the isle to which he shifted when no one seemed to have booked those seats. In addition I found the couple not picking up their own rubbish but rather left it on the floor of the train. When we arrived in Colombo – they disembarked without cleaning up their area. I concluded that they were not global and that they were using Sri Lankan system for their own selfish interest. As is my way, the way of a good little Australian,  I stored all my rubbish in my backpack and took my rubbish with me.

Then there was this Sinhalese  family who got in at Anuradhapura – the station south of which is considered largely to be Sinhalese territory by the emotionally driven. The ‘talk’ among educated Tamils during war-times was that when they were at Universities in Colombo & Kandy and took the  Yarl-Devi from South to North, after Anuradhapura Tamils felt ‘free’ to spread themselves across the seats vacated by Sinhalese.  This time we were travelling from North to South.  This Sinhalese family of six completed the picture by moving from seat to seat. One child was asked to sit next to mine – which I took as having been one of their allocated seats. But given that the child looked miserable – his father beckoned him to go to another seat and the father occupied the seat next to mine. Nothing wrong with that.  But from time to time the father would move forward and leave his backpack on the seat – while he occupied another seat. This ‘double-seating’ one official and the other through confidence of assumed ‘rights’ is a subset of the National picture – leading to ethnic conflict when Tamils who were strong in Administration demanded their due rights as per the Official System of Democracy with its built in powers of Equity/Equal Opportunity.  The family got off at Gampaha Station – the electorate of the former president’s brother who is in trouble now over breaches of financial administration. When the elected leader is weak – the electorate gets infected by that weakness and the only ones protected are those who have strong Administration order of the brain and/or are driven by Truth.

When disembarking at my destination – Colombo Fort -  the usual porters were nowhere to be seen. This meant I had to wheel my baggage to the door, get off the train and take the baggage down to the platform. Sri Lankans of multi-ethnicities just pushed my baggage to a side and went about their own disembarkation. But a White guy – said to me ‘Here let me do that for you’ and he wheeled the bigger bag to the door. I felt deeply appreciative and then even as I was going to bring the baggage down – the guy said ‘I’ll do that for you’ and so saying he lifted the bigger bag off the train on to the platform. To me he was part of my Global family and a stronger power than any other ethnic power on that train.

It is voting time in Sri Lanka and the outcome would tell us whether Sri Lankans have invested in Global Powers or whether they seek to ‘stay’ local through claims of Sinhala Nationalism and Tamil Nationalism. Globalism is the Opportunity Cost of Nationalism. When a country is divided to claim Nationalism through majority in a particular territory – it is separatism – whether done by Sinhalese or Tamils. Neither side subjective supporters would travel the global path. Either side that interferes with the other’s Belief – would damage its own investment in independence/sovereignty. Hence instead of falsely claiming Nationalism – it is better to use the structured path of Administration for which one needs to have the leadership of a strong investor in Administration. Those who believe in such a person would naturally follow in that person – with that person’s Truth being the source of their law.
