Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 29  April  2015

Indonesia’s Black-hole

Ordinary  Australians and Indonesians came together through the Bali 9 issue. That is the real power  that will develop  our regional goodwill. But the Indonesian Government failed miserably its own People and the International Community. In turn our Australian Government demonstrated high level of Good Governance. Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran did not die in vain. They facilitated this Goodwill sharing for hundreds of thousands of us. We must now vote in the Court of Natural Justice for the fall of this kind of leadership in Indonesia. The Indonesian President failed to hear us. But the god in every true Indonesian would have certainly heard us and the karma will be returned.

To the extent our Australian Government hears us – they would be naturally empowered by our Spiritual Powers. To the extent the current Indonesian Government failed to listen to the Spirit of even one true Indonesian – it is no longer fit to govern.  A Clever Government becomes a Bad Government once it ‘shows’ more than it ‘feels’.

The one good outcome from this is the escape that Ms Mary Jane Veloso had from the firing squad. If  someone could have gone through the legal process to the entrance of death - without the authorities identifying  with this evidence on the basis of belief – then that Judicial system is unreliable including in the case of Bali 9.  This Belief was required to know that they were no longer capable of offending. Humility was needed to confirm that the Judgment was wrong. Indonesian President cheated his own Conscience. Ultimately all of us  have to live with our conscience. Our conscience is the ultimate judge and that judgment is positive for Andrew & Myuran.

Around 2.30 a.m. Australian time this morning – I had indicators that Myuran and Andrew were ok in spirit. The Divine message came through Lord Shiva –  the Hindu form of Power that helps us transcend the physical and the mental.   Myuran’s dedication to art helped him transcend above the reality around him. While the families were wailing  and the community was weeping Andrew and Myuran have remained calm. This alone confirms their higher dignity. When one is able to transcend the mind also – one is unaffected by what happens to the body. That was the message Jesus gave us. All of us who cared truly contributed to this transcendence – in them as well as in us.

Our Australian Prime Minister the Hon Tony Abbott our Foreign Minister the Hon Julie Bishop have been outstandingly good leaders in this issue. These are votes earned through the Lord’s system through everyday governance. Such votes raise the Politician to become Governor.

Indonesia for its part needs to examine the validity of its leadership. Every genuine Indonesian who feels that these executions were unjust – is contributing to Good Governance in Indonesia and when there are enough of them – Indonesia will eliminate the current leadership – as happened in Sri Lanka.  My mind recalls the memory of the 2009 tragedy that happened to Tamils in Northern Sri Lanka.  In relation to my statement "Whatever happens – we Australians must keep fighting to eliminate State Terrorism in our Region." , a Resident Sri Lankan  Tamil wrote:

Australia did not do so in the case of Sri Lanka. It may not be correct to expect Australia to do so in the case of Indonesia.’

I responded as follows:

[This is about working through the system of Belief.  As per my mind, there are two requirements:

1.      Those  outside Sri Lanka including Tamils  need to feel they are part of Resident Sri Lankans including Tamils
2.      Those outside should have invested in wider  global principles and values of their own free will – without expecting material return

These two would respond to each other and that was how the Tamil Diaspora raised the issue to the UN level

In the Bali 9 matter – I felt deeply for Myuran’s mother  who is a Tamil and who has had to work hard as a migrant facing so many challenges. Given that I have accumulated credit with the system of Natural Justice to work the Global system – I believe I was able to make a contribution through our Government. The issue has been raised to the UN level now and if you read my early articles on this – that is what I wanted. Hence I believe that my prayers have been answered.

Like with the Bali 9 organizers the UN had its limits with the Sri Lankan war at that time to prevent deaths of civilians and LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) leaders who were surrendering. But their further commitment helped eventually to remove the leadership that carried out the executions. Like with the civilians who contributed strongly towards this – Tamil civilians who believed empowered the UN towards this. Sri Lankan voters became the media to deliver as per that belief.  The current outcomes where the Rajapaksa regime is facing a barrage of accusations and arrests by law enforcement authorities, confirm that Justice delayed was NOT Justice denied. Sri Lankan Parliament voted yesterday to curb Presidential Powers. Indonesia needs to go along similar path to cleanse itself – starting with the Law enforcement authorities and Judiciary. A weak Leader invokes that weakness in idle minds.

In the meantime – every Believer would continue to readjust the Karmic Cycle to deliver as per their belief.  The pain of families of Andrew and Myuran will  eventually be a sad valuation of their own limitations at that time. But gradually they would recognize that even at the time of Death – Andrew and Myuran have saved a mother. All mothers who seek would be able to draw on this Higher Energy that Andrew and Myuran have become.  Eventually they may be the Spirit that eliminates Death Penalty which has no place in democracy.

Eliminate Terrorism in Indonesia
Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 27  April  2015

To some the Death Penalty by the Indonesian Government hanging over Nine Australians may be another incident to unrelated individuals.  To many the case of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan have become personal as if it is happening to them. This is true of the Legal Team and the Australian Government. It’s a pity that the two governments are not working as close to each other as the legal teams are.

The Lesson Indonesia needs to learn is - NOT to politicize issues involving cultures Indonesians  do not believe in. There needs to be room for the Lord’s pathway in relation to Death – as there is in Birth. Man may prevent birth but without the Lord’s contribution there is no birth.   Those who believe in the Lord would add Divine powers to the child. Others’ children would be born as per the system of Nature. Likewise in Death. One who has Clemency Powers needs to be able to add her/himself to the believer’s life. Otherwise Death Penalty based on Clemency rulings – would turn out to be State Terrorism. Such a State would produce Terrorists.

As per News Reports:

Indonesia Institute president Ross Taylor said retribution in the wake of the Bali nine executions would not be in the best interests of Australia or the region.

It would be an eye for an eye. What is the common Australian nature?  To look the other way when there is injustice? For 100 years we Australians and New Zealanders  have been remembering and valuing Gallipoli loss on 25 April. The longer we remember and include - the further our vision into the  future would be. To me it was no coincidence that Gallipoli celebrations were moved to my home suburb of Coogee during my lifetime. To me the Bali Memorial and the Gallipoli war Memorial represent one and the same value.

Outcomes that happen are  a combination of forces some of which are  beyond the control of individuals at that time at that place – for better or for worse.  They are the virtues and sins of that place/land plus the institution as a consolidated person plus the individuals concerned.  To the extent individuals acted as per their positions – their personal carry-forwards would not influence the outcomes. In Gallipoli war we Australians took a position. Hence the loss of lives became an asset. It’s an Intangible  Goodwill Asset. Likewise even if the Bali 9 die – they would now die as heroes and the system that punished them unjustly would become the Land that would produce death related problems such as terrorism through those who take the law into their hands.  That power of the land also influences outcomes produced at that place. Where the power is positive as per the scales of Natural Justice – that Land becomes the Land of Opportunities. Where the power is negative – it becomes a Land of Problems – as Indonesia is as per its own President. No man can correct in his lifetime through his merit alone – a problem that has been carried forward over long periods. The deeper minds get carried forward and would invoke problems for which they are the solutions. These cannot be offset by merit in current life. One can only pray and seek redemption through belief.

Did the Indonesian President act as per his higher position when deciding whether or not to grant Clemency?  Is the President the appropriate person to grant Clemency?  Should it not be the  Governor of Indonesia who should have the power to grant Clemency?  A position is the structure through which others and we regulate our thoughts and actions towards a stated goal. A network of positions is an institution. If we lose consciousness of that position before reaching the goal – we leave the protection of the position and become individuals. As an individual – there are forces through which we communicate with others and with ourselves for a particular target at that point in time at that place. Time related forces influence our attitude and place related forces influence the visible/objectively measurable outcomes – such as death in this instance.

Once we reach our position target – we do go into our individual Energies as Governors of that position. Then we facilitate others to seem themselves through us. That to my mind is a facility  - as in ‘My Bus’ ; ‘My Train’.  Once we reach this level – we do not have supervisors giving us ‘cover’ or telling us what to do. Our belief is our supervisor.

Prior to his current position as President Mr. Joko Widodo was Governor of Jakarta. In the Indonesian Structure, there seems no Governor of Indonesia. Hence Clemency powers need to go to the Governor of the District where the event happened. Such a Governor has  Equal Power to any other Governor including the Governor of Indonesia if there was one. That is like the Governing Council and they collectively must decide  on behalf of the whole.

A Governor has no supervisors. Governor is self-governing.  An Administrator becomes a Governor only after s/he has completed her/his position duties successfully. One who delivers identical outcomes as Executive President and Governor with Clemency powers is confirming that s/he is not yet a Governor. To make it worse – Mr. Joko Widodo has made the drug issue a Political issue with one sided targets.  Wrong decisions by such a person would go directly to the citizens who would kill each other where Death is part of the punishment by such an immature mind. A Governor must have a still mind that like a mirror reflects the citizen looking through the Governor. It’s not possible for an active Administrator to be a Governor at the same time for the same issue.

In a people intense country like Indonesia – an immature Governor develops genes that would be give birth to others like himself. A wrong if not corrected during its current period – becomes a sin.  This is sure to happen to Indonesia just as Bali bombing happened. As per Indonesian law – the Bali bombers were found guilty and they did not show remorse until the last. Relatively speaking the Bali 9 group’s offense is much weaker and yet the punishment is the same despite the remorse as well as demonstrated-corrective action by the guilty. As per news reports - Anderson's lawyer, Casmanto Sudra, - another prisoner facing death penalty said his client kept repeating in disbelief: "Fifty grams. Death". He was convicted of possessing just 50 grams of heroin in Jakarta in November 2003. To my mind, the decision about the punishment – ought to have been made  by the Governor of  Jakarta. It is interesting to note that Mr. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, the governor of Jakarta had spoken against the Death Penalty. Anyone being punished in Jakarta is entitled to the Grace of the Governor of that piece of land.   Mr. Joko Widodo as Executive President is not the Supervisor of the Governor. The Governing Power has been rightly devolved to the Districts. The Executive has no power to intervene in that area.

When a Governor makes a mistake – it has exponential value. Every time an Indonesian possesses even one gram of heroin – the laws of Nature would give the possessor the fear of death.  Relatively an Australian may possess much more and have a stronger mind by limiting the effects to her/himself due to all those who said sorry from the heart – not only for themselves but for others too.

Whatever happens – we Australians must keep fighting to eliminate State Terrorism in our Region.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 24  April  2015

Political Corruption & Clemency Powers
 Indonesia & Sri Lanka

As per the latest reports:

‘The Indonesian government has ordered that preparations be made for the executions of Australian drug smugglers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran as well as eight others on death row.’

It felt unpleasant but it is important to keep praying to Higher Powers for the best outcome possible – not only for Andrew and Myuran as individuals and their families and friends but also for Australia, Hindu Bali Community and Indonesia. Tomorrow we Australians celebrate ANZAC heroes. We celebrate the lives of those who fought for our country. From the point when Andrew and Myuran genuinely felt remorse for their actions and thoughts of cheating others for personal gain – they are free of any crime. That is the Universal principle on which Natural Justice  works. Any punishment beyond that,  returns to the punisher. Where decisions are political – the rate of return are high.

To the extent those in the team fighting for prevention of such punishment are doing so – because they care about Natural Justice and/or consider these individuals as part of their common group – they are heroes. To the extent Andrew & Mayuran feel appreciation for these groups – they are also National & Global heroes. Death is the ultimate price paid by the average human. When such death is accepted as punishment – despite the inner knowledge that they are not guilty any more – they contribute to the law and order systems of all those who facilitated this acceptance, including through the Indonesian Legal system.

Last night I felt also for Mr. Basil Rajapaksa former Minister in Sri Lanka and former President's brother -  who was arrested yesterday  and was reported to be in prison hospital. As per news reports:

[Basil Rajapaksa is being investigated over an alleged 70m rupee ($530,000; £353,000) fraud in a scheme for the construction of public housing, AFP reports.]

If  Mr. Rajapaksa was guilty of the above that is fine. But my thoughts were as in the case of Bali 9,  in which case the money value of their life was $450,000. In my mind I asked Mr. Basil Rajapaksa – ‘whether it was worth the humiliation and the cost to his health?’  The reason for this question was the parallel impact through Sri Lankan Airlines corruption report by Mr. Weliamuna’s team. I am driven by my true experience and if I did not have one – to me it is an ‘outside’ experience to be observed and not brought into my feelings through which I also influence outcomes.

As per the Sri Lankan Airlines Board of Inquiry (BoI) report:

The BoI noted a conflict of interest since Seabury, who participated in the re-fleeting recommendations, was actively involved in the aircraft negotiations with Airbus and Boeing and was responsible for the final selection of Airbus as the supplier. This possible conflict of interest is consequent to the fact that it is customary in large-scale businesses of this nature that a 3 – 5 % fee is normally paid as a facilitation fee on the purchase of aircraft. The BoI concluded that a colossal capital commitment of approximately USD 2.3 billion
[approximately Rs. 290 billion] on the Re-Fleeting and Financing of new Aircraft acquisitions for Sri Lankan Airlines was entered into during the period 2010 - 2013, when the airline had substantial accumulated losses. There appeared to be no real hope of breaking-even and moving to profitability in the very short term and the purchases could not be justified, and such decisions may have been motivated by extraneous reasons.’

In essence, according to the Board of Inquiry -  the ‘Facilitation Fee’ was earned by cheating. This amounts to $69 million - $115 million. Yet, there has been no public report of legal action taken against the persons concerned in parallel to the arrest of former Minister Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.  This despite the fact that the position held by Mr. Rajapaksa is also tarnished by such actions. To the mind of a true investor it would seem that the report was politically motivated. In his April 2009 interview on ‘Corruption in Sri Lanka’ – the leader of the Board of Inquiry team – Mr. Weliamuna stated that in Sri Lanka ‘Corruption’ was largely an election issue. Is the above report also an Election propaganda towards winning seats in Parliament?

One sided statements based on belief in the whole are valid Political statements. That is the essence of  the subjective system. When a manifestation is belief based and there is no one to take the ‘other’ side – the return would come to us. Until then all use needs to be ‘confidential’ as in ‘voting’ system.

Where there is ‘other’ side – the completion is immediate – as in a purchase and sale transaction. Hence Transparency. Belief based statements during elections are valid and form the basis of Executive Administration once the promiser is in power. That belief is  the real moral authority for making subjective decisions in a democracy.  But they need to be ‘confidential’ until there is ‘other’ side who deserves the blame and is seen to be so. Where election promises  are not belief based – and they are not received by someone from the other side – as costs or benefits – they die quickly. There were some such statements in the 100 day program election promises by the current Sri Lankan Government. These could be delivered if genuine governors are included by the official government – including from within the genuine parts of the Rajapaksa regime. To the extent the promises were without belief by the leaders or the citizens – they must be left to die naturally.

Without this self-balancing system – the Sri Lankan Government would have to prosecute Auditors – including the Auditor General in the Minister’s case and other Professionals including the Attorney General for negligence of duty. The resources available to the Government would not be able to deliver this.
The Bali 9 case is a mess because the current Indonesian President made the drug policy with its death penalty an election issue without belief.  Indonesia to have effective Administration would need to have the resources to punish all offenders including those responsible for aiding and abetting those who escape punishment due to weak law and order system. The Clemency powers – which are the confidential powers mentioned above - if used on the basis of belief – should satisfy those of us who believe that these two young Australians and their group are no longer guilty as charged. I am a teetotaler  and I actively contribute to Government Policy through my own personal Truth. I believe that if  I believe that any  punishment is immoral at this point in time – it would be heard by a fellow global citizen. Without this we would be deteriorating to the law of the jungle.

According to Colombo Page news report forwarded to me:

Apr 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena today said he is fully committed to fulfill all the promises given in his election policy statement and to eliminate corruption, fraud, theft and waste from the society.
"I very respectfully tell my people that I am committed to fully carry out the promises given in my election policy statement. I will leave no room for corruption, fraud, theft or waste. ………We cannot allow the law of the jungle to supersede a good legal system. I do not hesitate to take required decisions. I will take every step possible, especially to protect and strengthen the people's freedom and democracy and through these means eliminate corruption and fraud, and thereby protect the genuine rights of the people" the President said delivering a statement on the completion of 100 days of his government.

One sided political statements/promises without belief – would lead to the law of the jungle, if they are given validity beyond election time. A legal system to be valid – would need the ‘other-side’ to be present at the same time. Where the other side is the Government on behalf of the Public – then all cases known by the Government need to be prosecuted at the same time on the same basis and this needs to be ‘seen’ to be so.  Otherwise all must be confidentially dealt with on the basis of belief -  including through Clemency Powers. The entitlement for Clemency Authority is Belief in the issue and the People on whose behalf a decision is made.

In responding to a communication  regarding Sri Lankan political leadership  I wrote:

[These leaders are outer players. But the real power is us – the people to whom Sri Lanka is home. There is a Tamil explanation that was shared by a Diaspora  leader - with me also. It goes like this:
A man has four wives. He adores the fourth  one and looks after her every need. He loves the third one also and to a lesser degree takes care of her. He likes the second one and accommodates her wishes. He hardly takes notice of the first one but she says ‘I will always come with you’. When he was sick and was about to die  - the last three abandoned him. Only the first one who was lean and weak said again ‘I will be with you’. The four wives are:
Body – 4th wife
Tangible Material wealth – 3rd wife
Intangible Status and Goodwill wealth – 2nd wife
Soul – 1st wife

I responded that this applied also to the Nation. Every person who contributed to the soul of  Sri Lanka is the eternal Sri Lanka. We don’t need politicians to identify with  this Sri Lanka. Often we help politicians preserve this very value. To me that is what really matters.   Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa  is the 3rd wife in this.  Mr. Maithripala Sirisena is  the second wife. My Truth is the first one.  The only Sri Lankan partner from the beginning to the end of my Sri Lankan body – is my Truth realized and/or shared on Sri Lankan soil and/or through those to whom Sri Lanka is Home. The above judgment is on the basis of my belief – which renders me the authority to use Natural Clemency powers.

Likewise the only Australian partner from the beginning to the end of my Australian Body – is my Truth realized and/or shared on Australian soil and/or through those to whom Australia is Home.

Nallur Murugan's Hand of Refuge

Why Fear the Wall of Death when I am Here?
 Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 23 April  2015

The Sri Lankan Diaspora is actively sharing feelings and thoughts about Governance in Sri Lanka. Would this sharing make a difference?  Yes, to the extent we are genuine – our discovery of Truth will work through those who are in leadership positions.  The returns for those who invest in Truth happens through  the system of the Lord.  The human system – has its limits and in a country like Sri Lanka the human system was recognized as being  more limited than in many other countries, by the architects of the 1978 Constitution who included Buddhism as part of the Constitution. Until there is affirmative action to balance this higher status – Sri Lanka’s natural forces of Justice would not be worked by those who derive authority and responsibility directly from  to the Constitution.

I have been receiving emails regarding the ‘come-back’ of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and commentaries by the inward pulling forces and the outward pushing forces in this regard. One of the former is Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka who has published the article ‘PRESIDENT UNDER PRESSURE’.  To my mind, Dr. Jayatilleka is battling between the above mentioned forces. This is also the case with many Sri Lankan Diaspora leaders . Given that Dr. Jayatilleka’s last official job through Sri Lankan resources was as a Global representative of Sri Lanka, he has a duty to Sri Lankan Governance structure  - to be centrifugal force that would facilitate independent Sri Lankans to have global experiences.

Dr. Dayan states:
[Democratic “regime change” and the Western applause notwithstanding, the new President is under pressure. This in and of itself reveals that contrary to the perception of even those in the pro-Mahinda camp and perhaps Mahinda himself, “regime change” was NOT the aim and objective, but only a means. The primary target was not Mahinda; or rather Mahinda was targeted because he stood in the way of the attainment of the real objectives of the West. If Mahinda were the target and regime change the aim, then there should be no serious pressure on President Sirisena, now that Mahinda is no longer the President]
I do identify with the above. Hence my feedback through criticism of the Weliamuna Report’s approach to corruption within Sri Lankan Airlines. Both had to happen as per the players concerned.   In this instance I was part of the internal force of Sri Lankan Airlines. It’s not different to the LTTE issue in which the Government was the outward pushing force and the Tamil Community the inward pulling force. Later when the Sri Lankan Government had the outcome it wanted – it became the inward pulling force and the Tamil Community through the influence of the Tamil Diaspora has become the centrifugal force.

Whatever the promises during 2015 election time – I believe they were made sincerely as per the feelings of many within the political circle. The basic difference as I see it – between the Rajapaksa Government and the current Government is that the former is a doer – and the latter is a facilitator.  One who is a doer her/himself would tend towards Rajapaksa type of leader forgetting that that type of leadership did not work for Sri Lanka. It did  not work for Sri Lanka because more and more Sri Lankans are seeking to be global. This strengthens the centrifugal forces.  Now that Dr. Jayatilleka has had his fill of  international experiences out of Sri Lankan ‘commonwealth’ – it is his duty to share on that basis and not as a local only – i.e. – on the basis of local Sri Lankan  certificates. One who takes her/his natural position in Sri Lanka would know which force would be more productive for Sri Lanka. Otherwise Dr. Dayan is saying  ‘Do as I say and not as I do’.

Reacting to Rev Fr. SJ Emmanuel, President of the Global Tamil Forum’s letter to the former President of Sri Lanka – Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Dr. Dayan states:
[who on earth elected Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, the Queen of Has-Beens who is jeered at her own party’s conclaves, to play this role?  What mandate does this faded political pin-up of two decades ago, have? Where, when and from whom does it derive?]
As per my direct experience with Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, the lady has true Governance power within herself.  One may find many ‘logical’ outer reasons to give the lady  negative points  - as some Tamil Diaspora leaders also do – but this lady brought more dignity to the Presidential seat than did Mr. Rajapaksa. I believe that beyond the seen and the known – is our Truth.   One who responds to that Truth is our ‘other side’.  During Tsunami Reconstruction work – I sought to get the approval of those within the department concerned.  It so happened that I joined a Hindu group that met the President on a Hindu holy day of Maasi Maham. It was NOT planned by me – but it happened. I believe that was as per the Truth of both parties combining naturally for a positive manifestation. My work got raised to the Presidential level through the natural path and given that it was Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga on the other side – I concluded that the lady was the best person for that job at that time. My conclusion is that such completions become the nuclear power of Sri Lankan governance and Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga became a Natural Governor in those areas of Governance. The lady does not need to be elected by anyone. A Governor elects her/himself when the nation is in need.   This is expected of   Dr. Dayan as well – in terms of globalization.   Instead Dr. Dayan seems bent on localization.  The power within is the moral authority of true governors. One would have recognized another.

If  relative to Madam Kumaratunga - Mr. Rajapaksa had drawn more than his contribution to that same position – he would have far weaker inner Governance power than Madam Kumaratunga or even the Hon Ranil Wickremesinghe.

In a strong institutional system - the person is recognized through a position. When the person is conscious more of all those other positions and not at all conscious of her/his position – s/he becomes the Commonwealth. Both - the service provider and the beneficiary are allocated specific positions. This helps one feel part of a group more than as just her/his individual self. A network of relationships is formed to make up a common purpose group. The core purpose/nucleus  of this group is  centripetal  force – the inward pulling force. Where the person loses consciousness of the position due to having done her/his duty as per the position – s/he becomes part of the whole and the whole becomes an expansion force – a centrifugal force.    That point at which one merges or switches is the wall of death. Often – money and status are the forms of this wall. Where one is not conscious of money and status from the inner circle one merges through the centrifugal force – with the wider community. Where one is conscious of money and status – one would jump from one to the other to and fro and take the transactions/events/benefits as they happened – often leaving behind the costs.   This is the case with many migrants from Sri Lanka due to the war. They do not have closure and therefore are not able to merge with wider world.” – Beyond Consciousness
Dr Dayan makes better contribution when he is away from the subjective and states:
[According to the President, the source of the pressure is the West and India. At least one aim and objective is that which was articulated by Prime Minister Modi who recommended “moving beyond the 13th amendment” and explicitly flagged federalism.  One receives confirmation from the reports of discussions between the government and visiting US Asst Secretary of Human Rights and Labour Tom Malinowski that the pressure from the West is on accountability………
…..These three objectives constitute the agenda:
(i) de facto federalism,
(ii) intrusive accountability and
(iii) realignment with the West—
MR was the obstacle and regime change was the prerequisite to achieving these aims and implementing this agenda]

The way we receive statements and actions by others include the following components:

(i)                 The position status of the person as per others’ certificates (hearsay)
(ii)               The real  status of the person as per our study of the person (knowledge)
(iii)             Our own True contribution towards a common return for all concerned. (Wisdom)

The last one is the least visible and most powerful. That is what produced the 2015 Presidential Election outcomes. To my mind it happened due to the genuine suffering of  victims of aliens on both sides of the ethnic border. If the current Government had been considered to be responsible for the pain by the victims who feel that pain even today – Sri Lanka would have continued to be under the Governance of the Cleverer of the two groups. The 2015 Presidential Elections did bring about ‘closure’ to many direct victims of the war – who did not have economic compensation for their pain – as the Diaspora received. They feel even and less helpless.

In some ways it was a repeat of the 1977 elections in which the  Tamil Political group - TNA got  the Equal Opposition position in parliament. We lost the deservedness to hold it due to LTTE killing those who earned us the position. Like asuras (the physically powerful)  who hijacked the Nectar produced during the churning of the Ocean of Milk (Hindu Legend) – the LTTE hijacked the investment made by the following:

(i)                 Tamils who invested in education towards Financial Freedom but were handicapped due to Sinhala only mentality and Standardization to University Entrance
(ii)               Tamils who directly  suffered in majority Sinhalese areas during shows of violence by the average Sri Lankan driven by majority power
(iii)             Tamil Political Leaders who expressed their claim of Equality  through the non-violent path

The fact that Tamils continue to invest actively at all three levels post LTTE confirms that we have redeemed our investments and need to develop further on it.  To the extent we accept that the LTTE started the problem – we own the pain and suffering of the victims.  In 2009 – when I felt that I needed to go to the camps as urged by Tamil Diaspora leaders including Professor Sathananthan from a medical angle – I really did not know what my state of mind ought to be.  I prayed to my Spiritual Guru – who guided me by dropping a flower during prayers when I had the following question in my mind:

Who started this?’ and the response that came to my mind was ‘The LTTE through its killing of the 13 soldiers in 1983’.  That was the response for me for my purposes in the camp. This meant that I had to accept ‘total responsibility’ and own the problem. Now I realize that by doing that back then  – I am now able to place myself in the survivors – as per their CURRENT needs, instead of dwelling on the reasoning by those at the primary level – with vested interest and lacking in  long-term vision. There are some who still actively feel the suffering of the war – and there are other groups that are working to address that pain.  My call is to prevent another war. I believe that even one small group which believes in its ability to be self-sufficient without finding fault with others – would contribute to the self-sufficiency of the whole of Sri Lanka.  Most of the folks I work with – consider Sri Lanka to be their country. Most of them seek financial self-sufficiency and this is my expertise.  When we are successful,  Politicians would need to come to us to the same degree we have to go to them. Those who truly thought they were fighting for freedom – including through the LTTE would be part of this pathway – even after the death of their bodies.  Belief is eternal.

When the above happens it IS de facto federalism – that India is expecting.

As for intrusive accountability – if we deliver of our own interpretation of our duty to return the support by the Global Community – then their involvement would not be intrusive. The motive of  those leaders would be readjusted when we are known to be globally independent. We need to be accountable to each other and progress naturally to connect to wider world.

The third items on the current government’s agenda – as listed by Dr. Dayan is ‘realignment with the West’

To the extent we achieve self-sufficiency and then merge with wider world – especially the West – we would feel global. It’s when we depend on handouts – that we would go with the one who pampers us by turning a blind eye to how we use the funds – as China did – for its own purposes.

I believe that this current government needs our support to become a facility. If we are to be democratic – they are our last hope (words used by Dr. Dayan) and our best hope in this generation. To my mind, this government is empowered by the those of us who submitted to the Lord because no human group with apparent leadership position heard us. We need to work out the restructured pathway and not keep switching leadership frequently. I believe the new group would deliver by becoming a facility – not just for the West but for all participants – including Sri Lankans to whom sovereignty  is sacred. All the souls whose bodies were killed for lesser purposes will continue to guide us as they did during the 2015 Presidential Elections.  Yes, the leaders would feel pressure. But the relief is there if they keep asking for the approval of the Truth they know within. That Truth never fails us. We may not have positions but we sure have Governance Power – as Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has. Each one is a governor to the extent of the Natural identity with their Sovereignty – as individuals and/or as groups.

So Dr. Dayan – why fear the Wall of Death when I am here?

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 21 April  2015

Role of Clergy in Sri Lankan Governance

Sri Lanka is in the process of restructuring its Government and it is not easy. It is difficult because of the Government’s own memory of itself. If we the individuals also could remember our past births  - majority of us would have comprehension problems. Migrants who remember their past as is – would effectively be economic migrants. The way we do not remember details of our previous births – we need to also not remember details of our life in another part of the world when we emigrate for good. We need to however not lose the Value of that life in the past. When the system of the Lord does the restructuring – through death and birth – our higher values – Spiritual merits and Sins are built into our makeup in the deepest area of our being. They say that there is god in every one of us.  Some call it conscience.  This god-power has all the attributes of the original. This sharing is possible only when such power is an absolute power. A self-governing person is one who is able to place that self-governance power in every voter recognized by her/him as her/his subject. Many Tamil leaders have been doing just that – each in their own local areas. The real power of  Sri Lankans is the consolidated value of all such self-governance powers which are able to regenerate themselves.

In his article ‘REQUIREMENTS FOR TAMIL CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL CHANGE’ author Jehan Perera, states:

The large voter turnout in the North and East at the presidential election, however, showed that the Tamil voter did not accept the boycott argument.  They had already seen the devastating impact of an earlier Tamil boycott that took place in 2005.  The LTTE imposed the boycott at the point of the gun, reduced the Tamil vote that would have gone to Ranil Wickremesinghe and effectively assisted Mahinda Rajapaksa to become the president, a position of concentrated power he held for ten years until his election defeat. Like the present day promoters of a Tamil boycott, the LTTE too thought that the international community would support them against the nationalism of President Rajapaksa. The reality was different and the Tamil population on the ground was at the receiving end.’

What lessons did Tamils learn from the above – not as delivered by Politicians but through them by the system of Natural Justice. Every self-governing Tamil who was ‘told’ by the LTTE not to vote would have felt deeply hurt and upset. Since they had the full right to place themselves in the Politician of their choice but were blocked in their path to do so at the physical level – their vote was ‘waiting’ for the right opportunity to come along. That vote in value included the rights of LTTE group. When a leader blocks another’s natural rights – s/he blocks her/his own. The power itself is added to the person who had the right to express but was blocked at gunpoint.

Within the Tamil community – we had/have  different pathways through which to realize self-governance.   One who relies mainly on the political path needs the voting system. Others would continue to vote for themselves in their areas of authority.   I do this all the time to demonstrate that I am an untouchable to those who block voting pathways. I am a governor. Many of us remained painfully silent to keep our own governance going. The challenges faced by us are highlighted by Mr. Jehan Perera as follows:

[
Hardly anyone in the Tamil polity was willing or able to oppose the LTTE at that time, when they were at the peak of their power and arrogance, shooting dead those who differed from them.  Many democratic Tamil leaders lost their lives for being traitors according to the LTTE.]

To the average voter majority power is governing power. The parallel social life is - money is ownership. A deeper study is needed to know whether that money was earned and earned on merit basis. But the one with the experience knows intuitively through that experience. When LTTE killed politicians – they killed their own opportunities in politics. They blocked their own political pathways.  Jaffna Tamils have upheld this by nominating Mr. Wigneswaran as the Political leader – instead of LTTE’s Ananthi Sasitharan or any other associate of an Armed group. It is a recognition that Jaffna Tamils seek to govern themselves through Higher Education. It’s a heritage with deep and powerful ancestral roots. We are now in the process of repairing that heritage damaged by the young and the restless.

Mr. Jehan Perera states:

One of the few Tamil leaders to take a different posture publicly was the Bishop of Mannar, Rayappu Joseph, who together with his fellow Tamil Bishop of Jaffna, Thomas Savundranayagam, opposed the LTTE’s boycott.  The moral authority and courage of the two bishops was not sufficient to overcome the fear psychosis that gripped the Tamil community at the 2005 presidential elections in the face of the LTTE’s military power and the propaganda of Tamil nationalists both locally and living abroad.]

The missionary played a key role in ‘showing’ the investment made by Jaffna Tamils in Higher Education.  I myself was educated at Holy Family Convent Colombo 4, followed by Jaffna after the 1958 riots. That pain of displacement and separation of our family – would have reallocated the motivation to study from Sinhalese parallels of our family to our family. The root cause of our investment in Higher Education is our hunger for self-sufficiency  starting with financial self-sufficiency. Most Tamil migrants in Singapore, Malaysia and more recently in Western countries fulfil this need for self-governance through Higher Education. Relative to that Politics was/is low in the list of priorities of Jaffna Tamils.

During the 1995 mass displacement many University students were killed because they were part of the group moving towards Vanni. As per news reports [Senior professors and lecturers at the University of Jaffna observed in a letter to the UN Secretary General on November 28, 1995:

“If lives have not been lost or people have not been injured on an even larger scale it is not because of the sensitivity and concern shown by the security forces for the safety of innocent civilians but because of the precaution taken by the people in evacuating quickly from areas where intense shelling and bombing were taking place and seeking shelter elsewhere.”]

That is the ‘inner force’ of self-governance even in the midst of the painful challenges from external forces.  In this instance for majority Tamils – both LTTE and the Government’s Armed forces were ‘external forces’.  The latter would have been internal if   the Government had heard Tamil Political leaders sincerely. Instead they got the Opposition they deserved – through the LTTE.

[During the run-up to the presidential elections  of 2015, when the call of a Tamil boycott once again reared its head, Bishop Rayappu Joseph stepped forward a second time to oppose the boycott call.  He urged the Tamil people that the way forward was by participating in the democratic process and being part of the process of change that they wanted.  This time around, with no LTTE guns to back up the boycott call, the Tamil people rejected the siren call to remain separate and uninvolved in the electoral process.  Instead they heeded the call of democracy and, together with their Sinhalese and Muslim co-voters, participated in bringing about the change they wanted.]

Bishop Rayappu Joseph, like many of us – gives form to his own feelings in this issue. Tamils as a Community, however would continue to be driven by their inner selves. They may not get it right politically from time to time. But they could be relied on to get it right in  educational pursuits  and financial self-sufficiency. That is our Tamil Heritage. When we accept the pain and loss we underwent as the pain we needed to have – we would feel ownership in the whole including the Sri Lankan Government. Once this happens – we become the driving force – as was confirmed by the 2015 Presidential Elections.

When the investment in education is deep it leads to intellectual freedom. This is the highest freedom of all. Then it is the Government that must vote for such leadership through allocation of  Tax Funds.

We already have problems due to Buddhism being allocated foremost place in Sri Lankan Constitution. This naturally breeds false leadership thoughts that eventually manifest in abuse of power in various forms. The communication with   a Buddhist in this regard is as follows:

Sinhala Buddhist:
[I used the title ‘Venerable’ because it is what society has given to monks just as much as ‘reverend’ is given to Christian priests.]

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam:
[Take a look at the way you addressed me in both emails. In the first one it was Gaja Param. In this one it is less formal and said Gaja.   As Sri Lankans, discussing this issue towards contributing to good governance – we need to share our Truth alone if we do not have an official position. If we do not have official positions  there is no need for position formalities.  If you had said that the army officer became a monk – that would have been common language. But once you say Venerable Buddhangala Ananda in the same communication where you addressed me as Gaja Param – that shows that you have attributed higher position to this person not as per your assessment but as per Society labels.

I am happy to share my Truth for Truth from you. If on the other hand you seek to contribute to policy – then the issue here is whether or not Buddhism should remain as the foremost religion in the Sri Lankan Constitution.  If yes, then what its consequences are for Sri Lankans as a whole. This discussion has surfaced the very concern that I was addressing – as to whether a religion given higher importance by law elevates the status of a person in that group  vis a vis a person in another religious group. You have provided the answer ‘yes’ .   This is NOT new to me.  Once a Sinhalese Police Officer -  a student of mine at our Vaddukoddai training centre started talking about Krishna being above Buddha. He said it as if he was the authority on that subject and we had to listen to him. I said to him that at that place he was a student. He continued to respect me as his teacher and did not talk about religious affairs in the classes.  Then we had two staff members who were high officials in their Christian movement.  They also started telling me what was good for the office. I asked them to rethink about working at our centre.  They stopped coming there. But they do come to our other social activities in that area and we are happy.  Hindus who are elevated beyond their earned status within their community would also try to ‘tell’ if they think the other person would not object to it. This however suppresses the Truth which is the most powerful uniting power that we need.]

How do we free ourselves from such unjust powers? Below is a suggestion as per my own pathway and to my mind the essence of Gandhi’s message – Sathya Graham (Sathyam=Truth; Graham=Home) through non-violent non-cooperation.

2nd Sinhalese:

[For god's sake Gaja do you need a separate state to become wholesome, you can do that in your own living room at your own pace.]

I responded as follows:

[I am talking about the state of mind. You seem to want an opposition to your desire. If I do not become that opposition – your desire becomes YOUR fear – not mine.]

We all have our roles to play and where there is no official position  - one must be positioned as per the status of the current work .  If this does not happen then one must live within one’s Truth.  That Truth is our real Refuge. Then we would not cooperate with the desire of the other side to fear the other side. Left to themselves they would become their own fear. That is the law of  Nature.

Gajalakshmi Paramasivam – 20 April  2015

Measure for Measure
Is Australian Life worth only $450,000?

The basis of Racial Equality, Privacy Law and the Doctrine of Separation of Powers - to my mind – is fundamentally the same. One needs privacy / to identify with one’s own Truth. One travels with others including through laws but finally to identify with one’s own Truth one has to  go it alone. These laws are vehicles that  take us close to the place of worship. They cannot take us inside because of the walls around  the altar /  nucleus/ soul of the place of worship. Our body which gives us particular form is that wall. That inner pathway is our own diversity. Some construct walls around themselves because they want to go it alone or because they have gone it alone in the past. This is fine – so long as they do not receive benefits from others pathways.

It is for this reason of realizing our sovereignty that we need privacy. But one must earn that privacy by contributing more to the common pathway than one has derived from that common pathway.  The environment in which we live needs us to have that Privacy because when  we discover our own Truth we add Universal Energy to our Environment. That Universal Energy is the ultimate empowerment that protects our earnings and savings. One who lives in her/his Truth identifies with the Truth of the environment. It happens instantaneously.  They say that Light Energy does not need a wave to travel through. Hence, to my mind – lightening speed. Truth likewise is instantaneous and is Still. It travels so fast that It is still.  It does not need the wave of law/reasoning  through which to travel. Where there is True need True Service  immediately connects itself to the need.

The basic duty of any Government is to be this True Service to each of its common citizen. Hence Sovereignty of the Individual is as important as the Sovereignty of the Country. Where religion is part of the common pathways/laws  through which  individuals travel towards experiencing Sovereignty    there needs to be separation of powers at an early stage – so that the group would discover its Sovereignty in its own privacy. Where a member of the group backtracks to the early section of the common path – that member is bound by the common pathway and not the religious pathway.

In Sri Lanka, where Buddhism is the foremost religion as per Article 9 of the Sri Lankan Constitution – Separation of powers is required for other religious groups at the structural level of governance . Some of us may choose the common secular pathway – especially in citizen-to-citizen connections and networks but if we are to follow the law closely – as the Government is required to – then we are entitled to travel with our own cultural group from the very beginning.  The Sri Lankan Constitution  confirms this need  this through Article 9. It is further confirmed by articles 10 and 14 (1) (e ).

A fellow Australian of Sinhalese origin responded in relation to my articles on the Bali 9 :

[The activities of this Tamil drug smuggler and others engaging in this despicable trade has brought death and suffering to a large number of Indonesians. Can Gaja Param and the Australian Tamil Management Service tell us what punishment should be given to this criminal ? ]

I responded as follows:

[I believe that the only person with the authority to punish me  is myself. Often because we do not identify with the damage caused to others through our weaknesses – we develop systems as a group – starting with family – so as to maintain our sovereignty as a group.  When we accept the authority of service providers above us – we are entitled to draw from the common pool of benefits.  The moment we punish someone unjustly – we lose our own Sovereignty.

In the case of Myuran – he is entitled to our merits in this issue.  ‘Our’ here means – family and Community and in Myuran’s case Australian Nation because  he did not see himself as being different to others in the group. I doubt that my support would have been invoked in support of someone who did identify himself  to be from a Tamil only group.  To the extent Myuran invested in us, he is entitled to our ‘Public Resources’. Hence his crime becomes ours in Common.  Myuran has demonstrated deep fondness for his Mum and immediate family and they for him.  Without having felt remorse – Myuran would not have developed this fondness leading to true Love. He has thus paid his dues – not as an individual but as part of a Community and Nation. Whoever punishes him after that is using excessive authority. If someone had already been damaged by Myuran’s actions – that someone has the authority to get even with him. But this is NOT the case.  It is Australia v Indonesia now.  As an Individual Myuran is no longer guilty and is a free man – even if he were physically in prison. If you still keep allocating lower status to him as if he was a criminal – you cannot be an Australian.  You are more like an Indonesian. Read the article below to know how to my mind -  these ‘natural collusions’ happen:  Politician; Administrator; Governor – Sri Lanka & Indonesia at http://austms.blogspot.com.au/

In that article I have shared with readers -  the natural influence  (as per my mind) -  that  the Indonesian and Sri Lankan - law and order systems - had over each other. Both countries have demonstrated strong local / domestic attachments and weak investment in globalization. Hence their common principles on the basis of which law and order is maintained are bound to be inconsistent across cultures.   Every innocent person punished takes value away from the Sovereignty of the punishing group. Once an offender pays her/his dues needed to cure her/him – and restore her/his sovereignty - s/he is an innocent person for that issue. Every offender damages her/his sovereignty when s/he knowingly or otherwise damages another’s ability to cure her/himself through her/his Truth.  Two or more self-governing groups would naturally and quietly join forces. Similarly, two or more groups with poor record of law and order  would also join forces naturally. At both extremes they become forces that travel freely as per their nuclear power. Mental force is higher than physical force. Truth transcends the mental force also and becomes uplifting Spiritual merit or down-pulling sin.

Hence we need to develop / adopt laws that would prevent such natural collusions between down-pulling forces that effectively compound sins.  Laws help us mark the offenders wrong – and this prevents accumulation of sin. Had I been heard when I went to speak to the Vice Chancellor of the University – and the wrongs were recognized and addressed – the University would have saved itself the public humiliation that followed.  Likewise Australians would have been saved the pain and helplessness of  Bali bombing if Mr. Howard had heard me genuinely. Eventually we get as per our own earnings. I had strong investment in multicultural systems and Mr. Howard’s was weak. By listening to me – Mr. Howard would have empowered himself. Mr. Abbott did and the Bali 9 matter has already invoked world attention due to  which I identify with the returns of my own investment in global standards. If the Indonesian Government is also listening – we would achieve an outcome that would respond to all investors – each as per their own level of investment in the issue.

According to news reports:

[THE beheading of two domestic workers in Saudi Arabia makes no difference to Indonesia's plans to execute two Australians and eight others, its attorney-general says.]

The news reports state also:
["From the beginning, the government has struggled to provide her with assistance and has asked the family [of the victim] for forgiveness," Indonesia's foreign ministry said in a statement.]

This confirms that if Indonesian Government had punished the perpetrator – ‘forgiveness from the victim’s family’ would have freed the offender from the Death Penalty. Applying that to the Bali 9 matter – when our Australian Prime Minister urged  for Clemency to be considered – the Indonesian Government which expected that of the Saudi Government ought to have ‘forgiven’ – through the Clemency provision.  In any case in this instance there was no death on  Indonesian soil to take life for life.

Indonesian Government accepting the laws of Saudi Arabia on Indonesians is more natural than Australian Government  accepting the laws of Indonesia on Australians. The reason is Common Belief. Truth is the basis of any reliable law/theory. One ought to have discovered the Truth or one has to have belief in the person who made the discovery that forms the basis of the law. Where such basis is Islam – then one needs to question whether punishing a Christian or Hindu through such a law is valid. As stated above – if someone punishes another – without that common belief by the punisher – such punishment is immoral/sinful. Where one identifies that the cultures of the two parties concerned are different – one needs to abstain from applying laws that are culture based. Given that Indonesia seeks to benefit from the work of global minds – it needs to choose carefully the types of offences that would attract serious punishment including the ultimate death penalty – not only for foreigners but also for global minded Indonesians. The wider our investment the less we need to expressly use the local belief based path.

As per the law of Nature – every unit of cost will produce its equal unit of benefit. In the system of democracy the beneficiary accepts costs that are equal to the benefits s/he enjoys. This leads to the service provider becoming a facility leading to equal status for both provider and beneficiary. The value is calculated through a self-assessment process.   As per the laws of Nature – one who has punished her/himself  has restored her/his independence and therefore is Sovereign again. Australians are more likely to punish themselves as per their own calculations than Indonesians or Sri Lankans who have invested less than Australians  in Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Hence when an Australian is punished by Indonesian authority it needs to be strictly on Equal and Opposite  basis. To the extent the Australian benefited by using Indonesian facilities/resources – Indonesian Government has the authority to recover those costs. This includes the cost of educating the Indonesian Public against crimes. To that extent the penalty could be demanded from the Australian – and where the Australian is not able to pay – the Australian could be imprisoned. I myself went to prison for refusing to pay on the basis of  my assessment that I was  ‘not guilty’. By doing so I was strengthening the system of self-assessment and therefore Democracy.  Had I found myself to be guilty – I would have accepted the fine. It was in the footsteps of Gandhi’s non-violent non-cooperation. This approach is needed when the governing force and the one being governed are of different cultures in relation to that issue.

Money is the parallel of votes in democracy. Like Equal Opposition in Parliament – one who damages opportunities and benefits – and reimburses that cost – is now entitled to govern / decide and mentally exit the area of confinement. Reconciling this with the physical is the responsibility of the Government.  How is the cost  determined? The economic value of a common citizen could be calculated using financial statistics. The Human Force value and the Common National Ownership require more complex calculations and hence we use belief based insight.  These cannot be used on ‘outsiders’.  Likewise outsiders cannot damage these inner values. So far as outsiders are concerned the damage is limited to the economic value.  If  Indonesia does not have the knowledge to calculate the costs – then one could use the Equal & Opposite Benefits method – just as we have Equal & Opposite ‘other side’ in parliament.

According to reports the value of the Benefit carried by  the Bali 9 was Four Million Australian Dollars.   This would make it about $450,000 per person. Is that the value of Common Economic Value of Indonesian life? It certainly is NOT the value of Common Economic Value of Australian life.

The deeper damages to the person and the community that the person belongs to and/or lives in – are NOT within the jurisdiction of  Indonesians in this instance. Such  Authority and the Responsibility rests with the Australian systems – the Government, Community and Family systems used confidentially and internally. Each participant has a role of responsibility and these need to be clearly defined where there are clear demarcations of jurisdiction and separation of powers. The Australian Government has the Responsibility to invoke UN intervention to protect this attack on the  Sovereignty of Australia. This is urgently required due also to the following report:

[Lawyers last week lodged a challenge with the Constitutional Court to challenge the clemency process, but the court is yet to register it.]

Now that we Australians believe that the Bali 9 have paid the value of more than 4 million dollars worth of benefit any further punishment would be an attack on our Sovereignty and damage to our investment in Democracy. Why do we need Democracy if we cannot as a nation redeem an repair our damaged Sovereignty through a self-assessment process? Anyone punishing Australian beyond economic / physical damage must do so as an Australian authority would punish except where the visible damage is so terrible/inhumane  that time and place demarcations are lost consciousness of  and Measure for Measure method is used to defend the Sovereignty of the attacked. If this principle is not upheld,  Australia is effectively being ruled by Indonesia.

The Damage to cohesion due to Buddhism in the Constitution of Sri Lanka: An email discussion:

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
1.       [But I doubt you have really understood the position of Buddhism in relation to military service.]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Why do I need to understand the position of Buddhism in relation to Sri Lankan Governance?   Did Buddha appoint the Government on the basis of his own belief and wisdom? If yes, then I would take it that Buddha is the ruler showing me the pathway and given that I was born in that part of the world called Ceylon – the Lord meant for me to know and understand Buddhism in my pathway. Since Ceylon/Sri Lanka was already benefiting from Democracy, I am entitled to keep Buddhism completely away from my life. By doing so – I have also the obligation to live within my own cultural beliefs – and Defend my territory which has been provided for in the Constitution through articles 10 & 14. Having chosen the narrower pathway of a minority group I have the obligation to that whole to not disturb those using the express pathway of Buddhism. If I gain knowledge – my mind gets activated and I would not get to my destination of Truth  as quickly as I would if I had been undisturbed by Buddhism which is external to me by culture.  Once I realise the Truth – the whole benefits – including Buddhists. Hence I need to promote Separation of Powers towards the betterment of the whole and not join the majority as a weak follower.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
2.       [And a kingdom just like any other state cannot survive without security forces, a police service and a criminal justice system. All of which inevitably involve a degree of violence.]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Violence is not physical damage. When one kills to defend one’s home territory – there is NO VIOLENCE. Many years ago when a strong LTTE supporter was arguing against my condemnation of ‘violence’ by the LTTE – a Tamil Diaspora leader rang.  The argument continued at his level. This leader – an academic – who had knowledge of my Gandhian pathway - said that Gandhi also had stated that we had the right to attack when our homes were threatened.  My response to him was that LTTE did not stop there. They sought to attack another in their home area and that was VIOLENCE. Similarly the attacks by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces on those who believed that they were defending their homeland – including through the assistance of the LTTE. Once you bring religion into to governance – belief by others becomes difficult for the government to identify with.  Hence Defence Forces  become Attacking Forces.  Violence is violence when one’s belief is attacked even by word or thought. Often those who take more benefits than they have earned end up as attackers when they have the status authority. For my part I do mark Tamils wrong to the extent they attack other religions in the name of  Defence. Where they are not able to change – I include them as part of myself and prevent them from going it alone. This is my main current contribution to Sri Lanka

You state:

Buddhist Sri Lankan:

3.       [In fact no society can survive without some form of defense or security.]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Every society can lead wholesome life without attack on other cultures.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
4.       [The Buddha therefore was not so naïve as to advise the rulers, who were his patrons and followers, to do away with their military forces and criminal justice systems in the name of non-violence. He did not expect rulers to become lame ducks in the face of internal or external threats to their kingdoms.]
Hindu Sri Lankan:
No. Buddha had the duty to promote non-violence by educating the kings to limit their armed actions only to defend – including to defend others’ beliefs - by attacking intruders from within the Government. The difference here is – that in Hinduism – Rama & Krishna became examples of such Governance forces. Buddha was advisor and he himself did not become the physical example through any position. Hence there can be no Buddhist manifestation within the apparent Government. Our pathway is the fluid form of our status. Given that Buddha did not take the pathway of defending through arms – as the monarch was entitled to – he did not have status in the government.  In fact Buddha renounced his monarchical status towards this. Krishna took part in the war as a chariot driver. In his own part of the kingdom, Krishna killed his own uncle to reclaim the throne. Hence Krishna has monarchical status in addition to being the Guru of Monarchs. Buddha like Christ – was the driving force without any apparent position in governance. Hence their philosophy does not have legitimate status in a government by military. Your quote  “sin writes history virtue is silent” outlines this structure.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
5.       [Yet at the same time Buddha did not deny that violence and bloodshed was bad karma. But their bad effect could be mitigated by the performance of good deeds and meritorious acts.  This is what he expected of rulers when he advised them on good governance (dasa raja dharma or dharmishta samaja).]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Has this happened in Sri Lanka for those in Government?  Are they able to identify with the excesses?  If not – they need the victims’ representatives to manifest this.  Take for example myself. When I do this – I am often called a Tigress / LTTE supporter.  Is that not a violent thought? What meritorious actions has your group done to diffuse that karma and pave the way for good governance?

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
6.       [If we take ‘sin’ in that sense it means attachments in all forms are the cause of samsara (cycle of birth, death and rebirth) and makes ‘the world go round’ as they say, whether we call it passion, love, human history, civilization, development, democracy, dictatorship, revolution, competition, aggression or whatever. ]
Hindu Sri Lankan:
Everything physical has two opposite sides along the lateral or vertical planes – as in X axis and Y axis. If you stand at the nuclear point you can see only one half fully at any point in time. Hence every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Where one is not aware of any other one has to wait for ‘time’ to show the reaction. Where there is an Equal Opposite available – the two combine to show the whole picture. Hence equal opposition in parliament. Where it is a monarchy – the other side needs to be in the mind for a balanced living. One who knows both sides in the mind is an Administrative  leader. One who knows only one side is a politician.  If therefore a politician takes more power than is needed to complete her/his side – and does so by silencing the real other side – s/he sins. If the politician takes less – than her/his entitlement – and facilitates others to express themselves s/he becomes a governor to that extent – like Buddha was. A governor is NOT relative.

In terms of samsara – to the extent we enjoy less benefits than we have earned we are like ascetics. Without this latent power – the world cannot move around Itself. We call this Chithambara Chackckaram. Chithambaram is the place of Dancing Shiva. Chackckaram is cycle. That personification is of the five forms of Energy in a Common Force powerful enough to still ‘time’.  It’s therefore virtual reality/experience. One who enjoys less than her/his earned benefits becomes the system that is the source of such benefits. Hence ‘Thou art that’.  Hence if I have contributed to Sri Lanka more than I have derived from Sri Lanka – then I am a Sri Lankan Governing force. I do not need anyone to endorse me as such. In fact a government authority that endorses me as something less – is an attacker – a violator of my realized rights  - even if s/he were the head of State. That attack is a sin.  One who has less ownership must take lower position in samsara – the relative world. It is the government’s duty to ensure that s/he does.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
7.       [Escaping from this vicious cycle is an individual effort. The Buddha only showed the way. Those who want to devote their entire lives to that quest may tread the spiritual path by becoming bhikkus (monks).  They are forbidden to bear arms or join the military. But not everyone is going to become monk or a nun or is in a position to become so.]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Do we not have Jathika Hela Urumaya – a political party of Buddhist monks playing an active role in the government structure and activities? To my mind – they are sinners if they fail to openly balance the other side of the benefits they earn.  The have the right to represent a geographic area where majority residents are monks and nuns.  Because politics is one sided samsara they may need to have a place in parliament to have the status to oppose disturbance to their Buddhist area. . They do not have the moral authority to represent Buddhists who are in general  samsara. In fact when they support those who take more than their earned benefits and are therefore sinners – these monks become sinners.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
8.       [The adviser tells the king " my son, yourself depending on the Dhamma, revering it, doing homage to it, and venerating it having the Dhamma as your badge and banner, acknowledging the Dhamma as your master, you should establish guard, ward and protection according to Dhamma for your own household, your troops in the Army, your nobles and vassals, for Brahmins and householders, town and countryfolk, ascetics and Brahmins, for beasts and birds. Let no crime prevail in your kingdom"]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
Interesting that the advisor has used the specific word ‘Brahmins’ – the Priest Caste in Hinduism.  Aren’t Buddhist monks the Priests in the above passage? How can they be Kings/Politicians?  The above passage in essence is what I have said before – about violence.   Protecting Dharma includes diffusing word attacks on Dharma – above any religious value. The religion is only the pathway. Dharma is the destination – the invisible pathway which protects even its attackers.

Buddhist Sri Lankan:
9.       [Throughout Sri Lanka’s 2500 year-history all kings have maintained armies and fought wars in defense of their kingdoms.  During most of the 20 centuries Buddhism was the main religion and was upheld by the State.]

Hindu Sri Lankan:
But those very Buddhist kings failed to protect Ceylon from foreign invasion. In other words – they failed to defend their nation including its Buddhist culture. When they could not defend their own ruling religion they lost the merit to rule over other religions. If prior to colonization the Buddhist monarchs had upheld their sovereignty – they would have been saved by that true power. It was because of Hindu Gandhi who was able to invoke the power of Truth and therefore the power of Sovereignty -  that Buddhist Sri Lankan Monarchs got their release from colonial power. Upholding the State must mean upholding its Sovereignty. All the centuries prior to 1948 are wiped out in terms of structure.   Only the true contribution remains as an invisible power. Unless this is known to be stronger through Buddhists than other religions – Buddhism has Equal place and NOT foremost place in Sri Lanka. Taking power through the Constitution in addition to majority vote is an accumulation of  sin where the opposition is suppressed to become a minority. .

Hindu Sri Lankan:

Warm Regards
